Lady Amy and her partners crept into the hotel's rear hallway, making not a sound. They had a key to the suite where their intelligence said Moira Altman and her kidnapped boys were staying. She inserted the card and tried to pull it gently back out, as though that would keep any noise of the lock to a minimum. The door unlocked and she tentatively pushed inside.
A dim light shone from the kitchen suite; they tip-toed past it and into the living area. One of the armed femme turned on the hall light, and quietly went into the bedroom. To her surprise the bed was neatly made, as though by housekeeping staff. She lowered the rifle stock to the floor and said, "Lady Amy?"
Amy joined her near the door. They stared at the empty bed. Amy said, "Let's check Larrabee's room."
When they found that it too had been vacated, she said with a sigh, "Well, it looks like our intelligence was obsolete."
Meanwhile, in a lonely ranch house fifteen miles to the north, Moira ground forcefully up and down on Ciqala's noble cock, breathing in hisses and gasps as she pushed toward her fourth orgasm on the boy's splendid offering. The classic, lovely lines of Ciqala's torso never failed to arouse Moira, and his willing submission to her demands in bed thrilled her too. She leaned over him, her hands on his naked shoulders, and pounded her hips in growing passion on his supine form -- she was approaching -- she drove herself onward in the dark, and started growling as she hit her blessed tipping point. "AH!" she cried out as she rushed into her fourth orgasm in the last 40 minutes -- plunging her hips up and down on his durable hardness, draining -- "OH! -- OH! -- AH...GODDESS!" draining Ciqala's life-giving elixir deep into her hot, soaking center. She clenched down in her delicious paroxysm on his cock ... "Oh!" ... Her body shuddered as her convulsions finally began to abate. She breathed deeply and looked down to see Ciqala lying there, frowning a little from the frustration -- obviously he'd wanted to come, but otherwise apparently at peace. He held his hands on her upper arms as her breathing returned. She felt an awe and gratitude that both of her boys seemed comfortable giving up their seed -- and their boygasms! -- to give life and health to their guide and protector, their Queen. Finally she lifted herself off him and let him sleep.
The ranch house they were in belonged to a femme who was traveling in India and Southeast Asia not to return for some weeks. It was spacious and comfortable, with a Western North American appreciation for space. It had four bedrooms -- each bed seemed massive to Moira and Liz. Everything was on the one level; it even had a sizable storage shed attached. After their homes in the city, they felt they were living in a palace.
Moira kept her Coral and Ciqala close through the day. They went from mealtime to bed for more sex back to mealtime and Moira soon settled into a languorous sexual fog, where the orgasms came one after the other. Her boys provided an inexhaustible supply of cum.
The sun poured in through the curtains on their fifth morning in this latest "jail house." Moira rose and looked the sleeping Coral up and down, noticing his softening cock particularly. 'Goddess,' she thought, 'what a doll.'
She strolled to the shower, moving her hips sensually; it seemed that her troublesome knee didn't hurt at all. She stopped at the bathroom door and, holding onto the frame, bent her knee without the usual pain. Gingerly, she turned her right instep to face in front of her, something that normally would have made her gasp and stop. It was -- or it used to be -- something that pierced her in knee pain. But it felt fine. She brought her foot up and placed the bottom of it on the inside of the opposite thigh; all the time she was doing this, she kept expecting the pain to stop her manipulating her leg that way, but the pain never came. Smoothness and freedom of motion. She couldn't believe it.
She left the bathroom door and walked into the bedroom. As she crossed to the desk chair, Moira glanced at Ciqala's sleeping form; his cock was soft and lay on his balls, but she thought he was gorgeous anyway. She knew she always would.
She lifted her leg and put her heel on the armchair cushioned seat. She leaned forward, stretching her Achilles tendon, and was utterly amazed. She could feel the stretch all right, but it wasn't until she'd leaned so far forward that she could practically touch her toes with her fingertips. This was unheard of for her. She couldn't ever remember ever being that limber in her life.
She took her foot off the chair and went to move it into a different position so she could check her other leg. She lifted the chair only to reposition it, but flew up into the air in her hand -- it was like she was simply moving a coffee mug or a grid phone. She tilted her head and looked at the chair -- she held it by the top of its curved wooden frame with its feet toward the ceiling. And knew she could throw it. In confusion and wonder, she knew she could throw it at least a hundred feet with no problem at all.
Her heart beat in her chest. Ciqala turned in his sleep and she set the chair gently down. In her slippers and a robe she walked through the sliding glass door into the chill of the morning; she breathed the vastness of the prairie into her lungs. She bounced up on the balls of her feet, feeling strong. She bounced again and was flabbergasted to find she'd leapt into the air. Not just a little pathetic puppy jump, like a few inches, which would have been surprising enough, but almost a foot, she figured. She went back inside and put on a sweat suit and a pair of training shoes. She hadn't been for a run in many years -- decades! -- but somehow this morning, couldn't control the energy or the strange certainty, deep down in her gut, that she was powerful.
She stood next to a picnic bench and made a tiny effort at jumping onto it from a standing position -- only last week this wouldn't have entered her mind. She stared down at it, and made a little jump, doubting if she would make it. With a tiny push she found she cleared the height easily, and falling onto its top almost forced her off-balance. She waved her arms around comically to catch herself, and finally put her hand down the the table's surface so she could stand. She looked down at the wooden table in wonder, a whole mysterious world of possibilities charging through her mind. She hopped off the bench -- nimbly and light of foot, something else that was impossible even five days before. She looked down at the table again, standing next to it. She gave another little jump -- it was nothing, it felt almost like a joke -- and she achieved so much height that she landed squarely in the middle of the table.
"Very impressive, grasshopper," came Liz's voice. "I don't think I could do that."
"Liz! Hey!" Moira called. "I have no idea what's going on. I just felt energetic." She jumped back to the ground. "I put on these track shoes because I got this feeling that I just had to spend some energy on a run. Can you believe it?"
"Maybe," Liz said. "Let's see what you got."
"Okay," Moira said. "See that fence there?" She pointed to a barb wire fence a hundred yards distant. "I'm going up there and back."
"Do it, boss lady!"
Moira turned to her. "Stop that. I'm not your boss."
Liz smirked. "OK. Whatever you say."
After looking at her again, she faced the fence. She began at a full sprint, which was disconcerting to Liz, watching her bulky friend running like an Olympic sprinter. She stopped at the fence and turned to look at Liz. Under her breath, Liz let out an awed "Holy shit!"
Moira's return was even faster, like a Hollywood superhero's. Liz almost couldn't see her progress, she was running so fast. And there she stood, having stopped a couple of feet from her, her eyes blazing as she stared at Liz.
Liz stared into Moira's eyes for a few long seconds. "My Goddess, Moira, you're not even winded. Not even a little!"
"I know! What the hell!"
After a moment, Liz said, "We'll have to do some field testing on you, flash." Moira nodded, but Liz kept on: "Now, boss lady, that was all well and wonderful. But I've got something to show you. Check this out." She led Moira to the picnic table. She stood frowning, looking down at it, and instantly a small spot the size of a pencil eraser blackened and started to smoke.
Moira's jaw dropped. She looked at Liz, who blinked and quit looking at the table. "How did you do that?!!"
Liz tilted her head, as if to say, I dunno. But she did say, "But that ain't all. Here," she said, backing up a few steps, "now watch this." Liz's gaze returned to the picnic table and as Moira watched, it rose a foot, then two feet, into the air, and hung there.
Moira: "Holy. Mother. Goddess. Dibella! Liz, that's fucking insane!!"
The picnic table came back to earth gently. Liz raised a brow and said, "Ain't it though? I can hardly believe it myself. And there's more to be had, I'm sure. I honestly think I can lift something that weighs five or ten times what that table weighs."
"Wow!" And Moira said, "Liz, I need to show you something else." She went to a field shed sitting by the fence some thirty feet away and opened the door. She rolled out a small tractor that was used to pull light duty field equipment, a mower or a harrow, or to pull tree trunks out of the ground. "I want to try this."
She squatted next to it, putting a hand under it toward the rear of the engine housing. Simply squatting there, she moved her hand and the tractor shifted. Liz did a double take. Moira shifted her hand back toward the seat and pedals and picked the tractor up with the one hand and, holding it there for a moment, smiled at Liz and raised it, still one-handed, high above her head.
Liz was agape. "Are you shitting me?!! Holy Mother of Pearl!" She whooped into the morning air, as Moira let the tractor gently down. Liz walked over to the shed and said, "Aren't we just the cat's meow." Her grin was as wide as Moira'd ever seen it. Moira couldn't help her own grin.
Liz said, "I think a couple of days field testing this ... this power."
"And then I think," Moira said, "maybe a call to the sheriff."
Liz said, "Yeah, and probably Doc Grichuk too."
"Yes," Moira said. "Her too. Maybe she's got some powers herself!" They laughed and went arm in arm back toward the house. "Holy Dibella," Moira said, "I'm hungry."
Over coffee, French toast, eggs and bacon, they brought up the subject of the Sheriff again.
"It has to be a strain for her," Liz said. "She and the Gynarch falling out like that. Can't have been comfy. Wouldn't have been for me."
"And now she's trying to play catch-up, Moira said. "And we're her path to that."
Liz asked, "Does that bother you?"
"No ..." Moira said. "Hers and our goals are the same for the time being. But I don't know if we can count on that continuing indefinitely."
Liz was deep in thought. "We want our husbands; she wants us to have them. We want long term security with our boys -- does anybody else want that for us?"
"At best, the Sheriff's neutral on that issue," Moira said. "The Gynarch and her followers? They're the other side. But let's take it one thing at a time. Let's test our powers, see what we have and are capable of. Then, get with Sheriff Clermont to find out what her agenda is. So far we're her soldiers; I'd like to know what she wants to accomplish."
Moira's handheld buzzed and she picked it up to look at it. She said, "Sheriff checking that everything's okay." She texted a brief reply and put the oblong in her pocket.
No sooner had Moira put her handheld in her pocket than it rang. She frowned and pulled it out. She answered. "Hey, Sheriff. Did you get my reply by text?... Oh. What? Really? Sweet Dibella! That's ... that's alarming. Here, I'm going to put you on speaker -- Liz is here." She set the handheld down. She said, "Liz, this is the Sheriff on the line, with some pretty oddball news. Sheriff?"
Her voice came out: "'Morning, Liz. I was telling Moira that Lady Amy and two armed accomplices paid a visit to the Westview last night, looking for you all."
"What?!"
"Yes, apparently we got you out of there with one night to spare. I don't know that I can vouch for your safekeeping any more."
Moira said, "Yes, that's obvious -- Lady Edenfemme might be able to find us pretty easily --" she looked at Liz -- "but she might be surprised by what she finds."
Sheriff Clermont: "What do you mean?"
Moira said, "Well ... Liz and I have had an eventful morning. We, ah, seem to have new powers."
"What? You have powers?"
Liz spoke up. "Yes. It seems my friend Moira can run like the wind and is able to pick up lawn tractors and with one hand raise it over her head. Effortlessly."
Moira's turn: "Yes, andMYfriend Liz can move matter with her mind -- telekinesis, and has some kind of a heat vision. She stared at the top of a picnic table and the wood started to burn."
The Sheriff: "Oh my Goddess! You are fucking kidding me!!"
"No kidding around, Sheriff," Moira said.
"Nope, that's the truth," Liz added. "And we were about to get in touch with Doctor Grichuk. She's really the wizard in the middle of all this. We were kind of wondering if even she has some awesome new abilities."
"I don't know," Sheriff Clermont said. "Somehow I wouldn't doubt it. Do you know if she has the markers?"
Moira and Liz looked at each other. "We don't know," Moira said, "but she's just a phone call away."
Liz picked up her disposable burner and conferenced Dr. Grichuk in. "Doc, hey! Liz Larrabee here. Well, we're doing fine, or maybe a little more." She hit a button on her oblong. "Now, you're in our conference call here, we already have Sheriff Clermont in the group.:
The Sheriff said, "Good morning, Sylvia." ... "Well, hello, Ann."
And Liz took over: "We have some news up here in the Wyoming wilderness. For starters, Moira could compete in the Olympics in the hundred-meter dash, and seems to have stunning superhuman strength as well."
"Oh my goodness, really?"
"Yes," and Liz went on: "Now we haven't tested everything that's going on, but it appears that I can raise the temperature of a physical surface alarmingly high just by looking and concentrating a certain way at it. Throw in some telekinetic abilities, you know, shifting things just by willing it, and so far, that's me!"
"Oh my Goddess!" Dr. Grichuk said. "When did all this happen?"
"It's new -- just this morning. Moira and I haven't had a chance to field test it yet, but we figured you and the Sheriff had to be notified. Do you have the markers, Doc?"
"I do actually, Liz," she said. "But my issue is, I'm not fully post menopausal yet. I don't know if I should expect a partial onset of abilities given where I am on the hormonal timeline or what. It's all brand new to me, brand new to science."
Liz said, "Well, it's very brand new to Moira and me. I'm wondering if you might want to come north and take some blood."
"Oh, absolutely. I will see you in a few hours!"
"All right, Doc. Travel safely, now." Dr. Grichuk rang off.
Moira said, "Well, you're as up to date as we are, Sheriff. I assume you'll keep this in strict confidence."
"Well, absolutely," said the Sheriff. "Let me do some thinking about strategy. I'll get back to you."
The phone call over, Liz and Moira looked to each other.
Moira said, "I'm going to change into something that won't hold me back when I run. Something that fits my form better."
Liz said, "Okay. You know what I need? I need a junkyard."
"The Sheriff is probably your best bet for that," Moira said. "But remember, everything is very hush hush right now." She said, "Hey ... I wonder if I could bring something back for you. You know, in case I find a wreck out there somewhere. I mean, I could guess at what my weight limit would be, that kind of thing."
Liz said, "Two things: thank you very kindly, that's a nice thought. However, all this is very hush hush, exactly as you say. It wouldn't do for you to be carrying around an old beat-up car or a tractor on a country road."
"No, that's true. I'll keep an eye out. See ya!" And with that Moira disappeared through the brush near the house with miraculous speed, and out onto the County road, where she was simply a blur as she traveled north, away from the superhighway that was several miles south of the ranch.
Liz busied herself with ideas about how her technical expertise might be put to good use under the new circumstances. She contacted the Sheriff again, asked a couple of questions, and the Sheriff promised she'd stop by soon with some specialized supplies.
Moira returned in only a few minutes, and Liz noted she wasn't even winded as she walked through the glass door. She told Liz, "I found something that might interest you."
They took a car out to the County road and after a few miles, she pulled off onto a dirt and gravel road that hadn't looked used in years. A hundred feet along it was a yard full of rusting, abandoned farm equipment. Huddled in a space maybe a hundred feet across by fifty deep, it held tractors, rusting threshing equipment, industrial size plows, water tanks, derelict trucks -- all of it rusting, mournful and lonely, in the sun. It was lying in a depression near a very lonesome stretch of road, the very definition of the middle of nowhere.
They got out of the car and said, "What do you think?"
"Oh my my. Boss Lady, you're amazing," Liz said. "I think it's the Goddess's birthday and I got all the presents!"
Moira smiled at her and said, "You said the Sheriff was coming up? Should I wait for her at the house?"
In reply, Liz pulled out her oblong unit and pressed a button. She spoke into it: "Sheriff, Liz here. We're not at the ranch. Home in on this signal for our location." She pocketed her phone.
She walked along the barb wire fence that separated them from the junk. She took a quick glance around and looked at a terribly rusted ancient water tank of the kind that were once brought to construction sites to control the dust. She extended a hand, her palm facing the old equipment. She closed her eyes and the tank began to shake, see-sawing where it sat. Old dead brush began to tear away from around it. Liz frowned and tilted her head down, and raised her arm up higher, and the tank broke free of anything that was anchoring it and rose into the air to a height of 20 feet, still, and glorious, and levitating on the morning air.
Moira murmured, "Holy ever-loving Goddess Dibella! Look at you, Liz Larrabee, queen of the universe!" Liz lowered the tank back near where it'd been resting and rusting. With her arms by her side, she gazed, squinting at the same tank; sparks began to jump off it, as though it were being welded. As Liz continued her intent look and the structure of the tank began to break open in a line, leaving a hole several inches wide, with charred edges, exactly like it was being broken open by an acetylene torch. As she frowned at it, the damage to the tank accelerated and soon her cut reached halfway to the ground. The sparks ignited some of the tinder-dry brush around it and she stopped. With a bound, Moira went over the fence and, with she and her hands moving so fast they were blurred, she dug dirt up and dumped it on the flames, extinguishing the threatening wildfire in a second. On opposite sides of the sad-looking barb wire fence, they stood, smiling at each other.
They were standing in that attitude as a car they didn't recognize approached.
