Coffee House Girl
Note: All the characters in this story are over the age of eighteen. It does not represent any real people or groups. It is a fantasy and shouldn't be taken too seriously. Any errors or omissions are my own fault. I try, but I am not perfect. Please look at the story tags. You know what category you're in. If you don't like those things then you should move on. As for the title, there is a whole can of worms as to if "Coffee House" is one word or two or whether you call it a coffee shop or a café. I didn't want to fall into the rabbit hole, so I just went with it. Stick with your preference. We can at least admit to loving coffee.
I first saw Nicki behind the counter at the coffee shop around the corner from my apartment. I'd never paid too much attention to the baristas. Plenty of people make jokes about them, which is too bad. I've never had bad service from a barista.
Nicki wrote my order on the cup with a marker. "A hammerhead," she said with a smile. "Haven't seen one of those for a while."
"Someone's got to keep it around."
It was an awkward thing to say, and I regretted it immediately. Nicki just smiled though. So sweet and disarming. She was a decent height for a girl, but shorter than me by a head. She had small delicate features and may have been somewhat boyish but remained so cute to me. There were near elfin features to her face that worked well with her dark and curly hair that didn't quite touch her shoulders. She wore little glasses with round frames that made her green eyes so much bigger in the shine of the overhead lights.
Nicki's body was trending toward the thicker side with good hips and a plush bottom that filled out her well-worn jeans.
After handing my cup off to the other barista, Nicki noticed my eyes lingering on her a little too long. I looked away for a second to break the contact, but when I looked back, she was still looking at me. She blushed and brushed back her curly black hair from the nape of her neck.
"What's your name?" I tried.
She pointed to her nametag which had been painted with pink nail polish.
I said, "Nice to meet you, Nicki. I'm Jeff."
"I've seen you here before."
"Caffeine addiction. You do a wonderful job here," I said.
Nicki stymied a little laugh. "Thank you."
She went back to work, and I walked over to the side to wait for my drink while the next shmuck placed his order. I wondered if he would be more awkward than I'd been. I cursed my lack of grace. It had been too long since I'd attempted to pick up anyone.
However, I noticed something. The other barista girls behind the counter called Nicki over to them. There was a hushed conversation, some giggles, and plenty of blushing. Then the girls were stealing glances over at me. The giggles continued.
On one hand: I figured that they were making fun of the awkward older guy who was flirting with their coworker. This was something that happened all the time. I understood. I'd worked with the public myself for years before the madness forced me to quit. I got all of that. However, a part of me wanted to believe that it was a positive thing.
Guys can rationalize all sorts of things to themselves. It's both a strength and a weakness.
"Hammerhead! Jeff," said Nicki from over the counter.
I collected my coffee from where it was placed with mechanical reverence. Oddly, it wasn't the girl who made the drink that gave it to me. It was Nicki herself, and she did so with a warm smile and eyes that lingered. I thanked her and left the coffee shop. When I was outside, I took my first sip. A "Hammerhead" is a hot coffee with an espresso shot dropped into it. At least that's what I was told. I'd been turned onto it since a professor of mine first ordered one in front of me two decades ago.
After a drink of that I already felt buzzed. More importantly: I felt more confident than I had for a long time. I knew that the whole exchange really meant nothing in the grand scheme of thing, but sometimes you need to just embrace your delusions to get by. Sad? Yes, but that's the modern human experience.
I began dropping by there every morning for weeks. Nicki wasn't always there, of course, it was a part-time job, but whenever she was, I did my best to be nice without being too nice. I didn't want to come off as some sort of perv. That can be a tall order in the modern day when everyone is so paranoid about everyone else. I understood it though. I believed that little by little I was making some kind of impression.
It was on one of Nicki's off days that one of the baristas wanted to have a talk with me. She called me over to a corner booth away from other customers.
She said, "Look, we need to be clear here. What is this?"
"What do you mean?"
"Don't bullshit me. We really care about Nicki, and we don't want to see her get hurt again."
"That's good. I assure you that I have no ill intentions towards her."
"So, you're just being flirty for fun?"
"I like her. I want to get to know her more, but she's very guarded. Literally in this case."
"There's a good reason for that," she said. "We deal with some real assholes here on the regular. It gets tiresome. Some of us are used to it, but we don't want people to hurt her."
"I won't."
She studied me for a while. I could see so much work going on behind her eyes. "Very well," she said. "Just know that we're keeping an eye on you. If you hurt her, you will not get away unscathed, I promise you."
She bid me a good day and walked away. It was a little dramatic for my tastes, and the cynic in me said to just flee the scene altogether. However, after having pursued this so far, I simply couldn't give up.
Two days later I had my first date with Nicki. It wasn't too complicated. It was at her own coffee shop so her friends could be close by. They were still suspicious of me, but they kept their distance while she and I talked.
There was an obvious question: how old was I? I told her that I was forty-two. Nicki was twenty-nine when we had this conversation. She asked what I did. I told her that I used to work with the public like she did. Only my punishment hadn't been retail. I went to university and later tried to be a teacher for a while. But knowing English as a subject is a vastly different thing from teaching it. God help the poor people I knew from the Credential program who remained as teachers.
The good news was that I'd found something. I once dreamed of authoring the great American novel and tried to do this scores of times. On a whim I decided to write what I liked: pulpy genre fiction and sell it as an affordable eBook. It worked. I wasn't famous in any real sense because who really reads anymore? I certainly wasn't making millions of dollars, but I was able to pay my bills with eBooks, a You Tube channel and a Patreon account.
Nicki laughed.
"What?" I asked.
"Things got better for you when you stopped trying to be something that you weren't and decided to be yourself."
"You think so?"
"Yeah. It can be difficult to decide to be yourself."
"I can't imagine you ever having that problem."
Nicki scoffed. She said, "Everyone struggles with who they are. At least if they're being honest with themselves. Some years ago, I made a tremendous change in my life, and I've been doing my best to be true to myself every day."
"Do you mind if I ask what the change was?"
Nicki took a breath and offered me a sad smile. She said, "I spent the first several years of my life being 'Nick.' He was a nice guy. Some people liked him, but there was always something missing for him. He eventually decided that he had to become 'Nicki' and I'm now a lot happier than I was, but it's not easy."
We sat there in silence for a time. I could tell that this had been a difficult thing for her to admit to me.
Nicki said, "It's okay if you want to keep this friendly and just walk away. We can just remain coffee shop acquaintances and go on like we did. I won't hold a grudge against you for that. Honest."
"Actually, I was hoping that we could do this again. Maybe make it a lunch or a dinner out of it."
Nicki studied me for a moment. "Are you sure? You understood what I was saying earlier, right?"
"Yeah. I'm not that dense. You were 'Nick' and now you're 'Nicki'."
"And that's okay with you?"
"Yes."
"That's what you say now..."
I tried to reassure her, but clearly there had been some trauma in the past. There was no way that I could erase what happened to her, but I could do my best to support her in this life.
"We can go slow," I told her.
And that's what we did.
Nicki and I would see each other at the coffee shop only there was a little bit more to the relationship. We were more interested in seeing each other, and sometimes when she handed me my coffee our hands would touch and linger a little more each time. I took her out to lunches, dinners, and soon we were just a part of each other's lives. Even her friends finally softened towards me. I knew her past and still came back each time. I cared about being with her. What anyone else thought didn't matter to me. I cared about what she thought, and Nicki still wanted to see me.
We'd been seeing each other for over a month before it happened. Nicki had been excited to take me to a Korean barbeque place that she knew. I was at her complete mercy as I knew nothing about Korean food except that it might be spicy. She told me not to worry about it. That she could order for both of us, and that was fine by me. I was beginning to trust her like a life partner by then, and I thought that she was beginning to feel that way about me. We were finishing each other's sentences and knew each other's quirks by then. Just another couple doing what couples do.
Nicki didn't often wear dresses. She was far more comfortable in jeans and shorts. She did wear leggings when she wanted to show off her wonderful plump ass. I was a huge fan of those days and Nicki knew that.
That night she wore a sleeveless dark green dress that went halfway down her curvy thick thighs. Much more revealing than she normally went for, but she was doing it for me.
"You look amazing tonight," I told her. "I'm going to have to fight to keep the other guys off you."
That resulted in such a deep and wonderful blush on her face, and Nicki adjusted her cute little glasses nervously. She hugged me tightly and gave me a sweet and very wet kiss. Her tongue slipped into my mouth to say hi to my tongue.
"Jeff," she said, "if you keep saying stuff like that to me then I might not be able to make it through dinner."
"Oh? Is there something else you wanted to do tonight?"
She took my hand in hers. She said, "Yeah. If it's okay with you."
She looked at me so innocently. Her teeth biting over her lower lip. Nicki brushed a hand over the pleated front of my khakis. My cock was already stirring at the chance of being with her. It had been a long month, and I hadn't jerked off for a while in hopes that I would have some help in seeking that sort of relief. And now the possibility was nigh.
"I'd be very interested if you're saying that it's okay."
She nodded. Nervous but determined.
We stood there smiling at each other for a time. Little conversations were going on between our eyes. One of those things that's difficult to describe to anyone else, but you did it as a couple.
Dinner was excellent. Nicki educated me thoroughly about Korean food: the styles, the traditions, and the spice. I'd learned already that she was an aficionado of all things Japanese, but it turned out that she had broadened her horizons. It delighted me. She had so many interests and opinions. I'd been concerned about being with a person that was younger that myself would make for an imbalance in knowledge and experience, but I'd been wrong and was glad for it. I'd forgotten what it was like to be with another person. I was relearning things, and Nicki was helping me.
We finished our wonderful meal, and after I paid, I looked at Nicki to get a sense of what our next move would be.
"Did you enjoy it?" she asked.
I nodded. "We should come here again."
"My coworkers brought me here for my birthday."
"They're very protective of you."
Nicki laughed nervously. "Yeah. Sorry about that. They've been incredibly supportive of me since I began living as my real self. I guess they adopted me in their own way."
"I understand. There's a lot of shitty people out in the world these days. It's all very unfortunate."
She nodded in sad resignation of the current state of the world. We wanted to believe that things would get better and maybe they would one day.
I was waiting to see how she was feeling about the evening. Believing that I would likely be driving her home. I told myself that it was the most likely outcome. Nicki expressed interest in fooling around earlier, but that was then and women were prone to changing their minds.
"So, where to now?" I asked when we got up to leave.
Nicki offered me a little smile but didn't answer immediately. We walked outside the restaurant to my car. Then she whirled about like a dervish in green lace and grabbed onto me. Her smile was infectious and so was her excitement. Those big green eyes were filled with life. Her body felt so hot against mine.
"Can we go back to your place?" she asked.
"Are you sure?"
She kissed me. "I want to."
We got into my old Saab, and we drove back to my apartment.
When we got there it was interesting to see Nicki's reaction to my inner sanctum. I was a millennial despite how much I hated that term and had claimed not to be for years. Most of my décor and tastes reflected that. Things were simply better back in the late nineties. Sorry, kids.
"Look at this stuff," said Nicki. "Where did you get all these things?"
"Just from existing for a long time. Some of that stuff is from Comic-cons of years gone by."
Nicki then saw my display case of my published pulpy novels. While most of my sales were eBooks I could get decently made hard covers. The covers themselves usually showed some sort of monster or military sci-fi scene along with several zombie action pictures. I knew that my writing professors would be shaking their heads, but these were what got me published.
"So, these are your books," she said.
"Yeah. They pay the bills. Mostly."
Nicky turned back on me. "That's cool." She sauntered over to me. Pressing her body up against mine. "Maybe you can write a story about me. Am I interesting enough?"
"I think you are."
She beamed at that. Nicki said, "Do you want me tonight?"
"I do."
She held my hand. "Take me to the bedroom, big guy."
I led her back to my bachelor's bedroom. It was decorated in a slightly more conservative way than other parts of my apartment. I had to mature on some level once I hit forty. Nicki looked all over. She was gradually getting a better sense of me as a person. She was digging it as far as I could fathom.
Then we kissed again. Feeling each other's bodies. Nicki was rubbing at my cock through my slacks.
"Excited, are we?"
She smiled wickedly at me. "I want him to be excited,"
"That won't be a problem."
I pulled at Nicki's dress. She pulled off the shoulder straps, and I pulled the rest of it off her. Nicki was a wonderful thick dream beneath her dress. Her bra was a little small for her, which made her modest breasts more pronounced. Her white cotton panties were also a little tight. Stretched out over her big butt. In front of her panties, I could see the bulge that spoke of secrets yet to be revealed. She was partly hard with a wet spot staining the front of her underwear.
Nicki saw me looking and was no doubt worried, but we were doing this.
"Now you," she said.
I chuckled. Even after so many years I was nervous. I unbuttoned and removed my dress shirt. I usually don't wear ties, but once you get used to business attire it's hard to let it go. My slacks soon followed leaving me in my boxers. I took in a breath and let Nicki have a good look at me. I'm in decent shape for my age. Maybe I'm trending something of a "dad bod," but after a while packing into the gym and dieting becomes boring.
Nicki was happy with what she saw, which was a relief to me.
"You look like someone's dad," she said. "Are you?"
"Not that I'm aware of, but it's possible."
She smiled. "Maybe you could be my daddy."
I took Nicki in my arms. My hands were feeling all over her soft middle and hips. We kissed. Nicki removed her bra and let me see her breasts. They were on the smaller side but still had satisfying plumpness to them. I kissed and suckled at them. My attention drove Nicki to catch her breath in her throat.
"Oh gosh," she said. "I haven't had anyone do that to me yet."
I pulled away. A strand of saliva connecting my mouth to her swollen nipple. "Do you like it?"
Nicki feverishly began kissing her harder. "I want this so bad, Jeff."
I eased her onto the bed. Reaching down to run my hands over the sides of her bubble-butt and took hold of her panties. I pulled them down over her thick legs slowly. The panties were hot. Moist with her scents. I would've smelled them if I'd had more time.
I beheld the full beauty of Nicki spread before me. God! She was a sight. She was breathing heavily with anticipation. Her little cock was semihard and leaking precum. It was a new prospect for me. I'd never handled one other than my own. Below her cock and the swell of her balls was the entrance to her hot interior which called to me now.
I reached into my nightstand and removed a container of lube that I kept in there. I'd been using it just for jerking off recently, so the idea of finally using it with a partner was exciting.
"You ever done this before?" I asked.
"Well, no," she said shyly. "I tried fooling around with a girlfriend before, but it wasn't like this and that person wasn't me. You know?"
I held her hand. "I know," I told her. "It's okay. You're with me now."
Her eyes lit up with that reassurance. "I've used some toys," she admitted.
"Good. That way you'll have some familiarity with the feeling."
I dipped my finger into the lube and began working it into her. She was tight. Not just from lack of use, but with nervousness. That could have made it difficult, but she was also so hot on the inside. I wanted to feel that within her. She hadn't been with anyone, so this was going to her introduction into making love with another person. It was a big responsibility.
"Are you sure you want to do this with me?" she asked. "I mean.... If you don't want to it's okay. I won't hate you."
I leaned down to kiss her gently. I felt her worries melt away. She trusted me. Giving me something that was so special. I had to do this right.
I pulled off my boxers letting my rigid cock feel the air. Nicki took a good look at it. She bit her lower lip in anticipation of what was about to happen. She'd fantasized about this no doubt, but it was quite a different thing when it was about to happen in real life.
I positioned myself between her legs and had her scoot her butt up so I could get a better angle. Nicki's own cock was hard and leaking. Her small balls glistened with the precum covering them.
The look on her face was amazing, somewhere between desire and nervousness. Still trusting me,
I slathered a generous glob of lube all over my cock. I didn't want to hurt her. This needed to be good for Nicki. She deserved that much. Life and people can be cruel, and even if she hadn't talked about it, I knew that she'd endured a lot. Now she was taking a huge chance on me.
"You know I won't hurt you, right?"
She nodded meekly. There may have been tears in her bright green eyes.
I placed the head of my rigid cock at her entrance. We were both so eager with want that our hearts were racing together.
