Chapter 6: A surprisingly licentious Morning
Daktylos and Lanike knew that they would be alone tomorrow: Her mother was still in Athens, while the neighbors on the other side would attend a baptismal ceremony about fifteen miles away. The two lovebirds hadn't talked about it yet, but - after the hand job on Monday, up in the olive grove, and the subsequent fellatio in Daktylos' bedroom the next day - tomorrow, they would almost certainly bare all.
But today, it was only Wednesday. The previous afternoon, it had rained a bit, so that Lanike had been unable to pay her beloved little goats a visit. Thus, this morning, even before breakfast, the blind young lady had already asked Daktylos if he couldn't take her to his animals again, although Maria and Stavros also had some chicks, which she loved just as much.
Now, Daktylos was sitting outside his house, on the bench in the front, facing west. Of course, he was in exceedingly good spirits, anticipating unbridled bliss over the next 48 hours. He dunked his bread crust into a jar with honey, before he continued reading his Stendhal. He had already fed the goats, cleaned their enclosure and spread fresh straw, so he would be ready for whatever delights coming his way.
Lanike was maybe still menstruating but tomorrow, at the latest, it would be over. Judging by how open and almost cheeky she had presented herself over the last two days, he had no reason to doubt that she was ready and wanted to go all the way now, just as the middle-aged widower himself.
What could possibly go wrong now?!Daktylos still asked himself, since his mind was unable to steer away from the topic of his dazzling, nineteen-year-old blind neighbor. Well, her mother could suddenly return, but that was highly unlikely, since she had gone to Chalkida and then Athens to consult with lawyers and doctors to find out if her blind daughter couldn't somehow get in in America.
Daktylos knew, however, that the Immigration laws had become really strict in 1907. Unless the family had large sums of money - which wasn't the case for Lanike's parents - the blind girl would be denied entry. Daktylos had doubts, anyway, that Vera wanted to leave the village and her daughter here and join her ill-humored husband on his voyage.
Daktylos hadn't asked Lanike yet, but she had never stated that she wanted to begin a new life in America, where she knew no one. She didn't speak any English, either. No, Lanike would be incredibly lonely there, which she probably knew. For Daktylos, on the other hand, the healthy young woman was his last straw to become a father, relatively late in his life.
His late wife, Elena, had been unable to conceive. Soon, he and Lanike would talk about the matter, but he somehow had a hunch that Lanike had no stronger wish than to conceive a baby - which would give her life deeper meaning and purpose, while the daily intercourse until she would get pregnant was another incentive for her to get involved with the gentleman next door.
Who loved her beyond measure. As if on cue, now Daktylos' older neighbor, Maria, emerged from behind Lanike's house, with the endearing lithe damsel in tow:
"Daktylos," Maria panted: "I've got so many things to do today. Couldn't you... I mean, with Lanike...?" she was hemming and hawing, almost as if she had ulterior motives.
Of the sensual kind.
"You want me to take Lanike to my goats? Or read to her?" Daktylos reassured Maria, who surely was busy on this day before the trip to the baptism.
"Yes, that would be lovely. I gotta go down to the village to get my hair done. And Stavros is at Konstantinos' house. To buy a sheepskin and a jug of honey. Presents for tomorrow, you know..." Maria added hastily.
"Yes, sure. Lanike and I will find something to spend the time well," Daktylos reiterated, trying not to sound lecherous.
Daktylos had a faint suspicion anyway that Maria was already - just like her husband - on his and Lanike's side, but he didn't want to ask Maria bluntly to confirm. There was no way to inquire if she endorsed the taboo-laden relationship between the 51-year-old widower and the young blind angel, who wasn't even half his age.
Maria understood that Lanike was a young woman now, who was old enough to marry and bear a child. Everyone could see that Lanike's body was healthy and well-developed - and graceful. By implication, she had a healthy dose of lust and desire inside herself - and this energy had to find an outlet.
Here, in this sleepy part of the world, with no young men present. But Daktylos was still in good shape; he had been a boxer and was leading an active life. He was no slouch - and had no children of his own. His wife had died the previous year, after a long period of suffering.
Meanwhile, Daktylos had gotten up and taken Lanike's hand, so that she could feel safe. Maria nodded and said a few tender words to the girl, before she turned and briskly walked back to her house. For some reason, the couple didn't go straight behind Daktylos' house, though, where the goats were, but sat down on the bench in the front - as if they wanted to watch Maria leave, first.
To make sure, they would be alone. But when would Stavros, Maria's husband, be back?Well, Daktylos almost didn't care, as his older neighbor wasn't going to insist that Lanike would return to Maria's house, particularly not in her absence. And, if Stavros caught the two of themred-handed,he would know - but life would go on.
The way things stood, Lanike and Daktylos would save the divine act, anyway, as they truly would be alone all day tomorrow.Could anyone else surprise us?Well, there were very few spontaneous visitors here, up on the hill, outside the village. The path was in bad condition, and - apart from Leonidas, his lawyer friend in Karystos - Daktylos didn't really know too many people who could come to see him on a regular Wednesday in September, before noon.
For some reason, Daktylos loved that Lanike was holding her little wooden windmill in one hand. He knew that she had owned the toy for about ten years now; it was slightly warped and one blade was already missing. Well, she seemed to like it nonetheless, as it still turned, although right now she was absent-mindedly prodding her cheek with it, as if she wanted to shave.
To let the energy between the two flow back and forth, Daktylos placed his hand on her dress, near her knee. Then her high. Of course, Lanike noticed, but she was still dreamily poking her cheek with one of the wooden blades. So, Daktylos let his hand travel another four inches upward, closer to her lap. He couldn't imagine this making her uncomfortable; she had had his cock in her mouth and then swallowed his cum the previous afternoon.
Now, even the small black-and-white cat came over from Maria's house, although it technically belonged to Lanike's family, as far as Daktylos knew. The furry little friend snuggled up against Lanike's slim, elegant ankles, which startled her for a split-second, but then she smiled. It doesn't get much more bucolic and idyllic than this, Daktylos knew.
It was almost a bit too perfect. Anyway, Lanike was wearing a faded greenish skirt and an - equally washed-out - pale orange linen blouse, which was slightly too small for her. That Maria had picked this particular outfit for the blind girl could have been coincidence, of course, but it amplified Lanike's nicely developing bosom.
Yes, perhaps Maria did this all on purpose: subtly, barely noticeably. But, if she was truly opposed to Daktylos' relationship with Lanike, she would not have delivered her to him in this tight blouse, would she? A blouse and skirt are also more conducive than a long dress to initiate whatever kind of love-play, Daktylos was convinced.
He could have asked Lanike if she knew whether Maria condoned or even approved their relationship, but that might have turned awkward. And it would have ruined the charm of their subtle sensual play. At this very moment, it didn't matter anyway: Lanike was sitting next to him, there was no soul in sight, and Maria would, in ten minutes, be gone for two hours.
Daktylos couldn't help placing his hand on Lanike's stomach, or a bit below even. Roughly, where her pubic mound began, under the three layers of fabric. As tight as her skirt was, he tenderly caressed the small area, looking southwest, where he could sense the ocean through and behind the haze.
The air was mild on this September morning, but when he turned his head to look at his sweetheart, he noticed that her nostrils were quivering:
"Can you smell the sea?" he asked her.
"No, not really. Can you see it?" she asked him back, with an impish smile.
"Not really," he echoed her: "It's like the air and the water are one in the haze," Daktylos described, before he asked Lanike how old the skirt and blouse were.
"Three years? Two? I can't remember. It'll be three this Christmas, I think."
Daktylos was tempted to tell her that her bosom looked delicious under the pale brick-red fabric, but refrained. Instead, he admired her not too roundish breasts, which covered a relatively large area, though. Her lovely chest was heaving, and it seemed that the two of them were already breathing more heavily.
He could have opened one or two buttons on her blouse, since Maria would go straight down to the path from her house and then pass Daktylos' in a distance of about 25 yards, but he could also wait another ten minutes, he decided. No, yes: The way we are sitting here is just perfect. There's no need to be rash or brash. Or to change anything.
Yes, the two days they had for themselves had just started.Kind of. They promised so much -which shouldn't be consumed instantly or greedily, though. Daktylos asked himself how wet Lanike was between her slender legs; well, chances were that he would find out soon. But he could ask her if her period was still going on:
"Maria said this morning that it looks over," Lanike reported, blushing ever so slightly.
So, Daktylos turned toward her, caressed her cheek, and played with her long dark-blonde hair - to which Lanike responded by hesitatingly placing her hand on his thigh.
"Maria washes you every morning?" he asked clumsily, as he didn't know what the routine was, as long as Lanike's mother Vera wasn't here.
"Yes. Sometimes also in the evening again, when it's hot," Lanike replied quietly, as if she was slightly embarrassed: "But Maria still pinned a fresh cloth in my knickers," she added.
Yeah, that's what women do while they're menstruating, Daktylos remembered, but he didn't want to prod her for more details. Lanike would have been even more embarrassed, perhaps. The way things were going, he would learn more soon.
Now, Maria was passing, down on the path leading to the village. She looked up and waved, before she hollered that she would be back for lunch. The way the young woman was sitting next to Daktylos:Does Maria know what is going to happen in her absence, in all likelihood? Either right now or tomorrow, when she's attending the baptism...
"Did you mention to Maria what we did yesterday, or the day before?" Daktylos asked his young sweetheart.
"Oh, no... I don't know what she would say," Lanike smiled dreamily.
"Well, yes... I have no idea what she would say, either. I think it's better not to tell anyone," Daktylos concurred: "People will know soon enough."
The last sentence had maybe sounded more ominous than intended, but he had said it. Lanike didn't know what to reply and just rubbed her cheek with her little wooden windmill again. Although their taboo-laden sensual relationship had already started, it was probably too early to discuss its downsides. That could wait until she had completely offered herself.
As Daktylos was squinting into infinity - or, at least, into the haze over the sea, which was about two miles away - a young lad on a mule appeared. He had come the other way, down from the mountain pass, which was rare. Daktylos got up and explained to Lanike where he was going:
"The boy looks like a messenger. Maybe he has news from your mother..."
When Daktylos got closer to Maria's house, the young man had already gotten a small envelope out of his leather satchel:
"I've got a telegram for Mrs. Maria... from Mrs. Vera," the lad confirmed, after he had looked at and then handed Daktylos the folded sealed paper.
"Maria just left. Her husband isn't here, either. She'll be back in two hours or so. I'll give it to her," Daktylos murmured, as he was signing the receipt.
When the young chap departed, Daktylos went back to his house and sat down next to Lanike again:
"Yes, your mom has sent Maria a telegram; it probably says when she'll be back."
Lanike nodded but didn't ask Daktylos to read the telegram to her right away. For a little while, the two of them were quietly thinking what could have happened:Was Vera sick? Would she join her husband on the journey to America? Would they really leave Lanike here, in Maria's - and Daktylos' - care?
Eventually, he let Lanike feel the waxy seal, but now she wanted to break it and read what it said inside:
"I know. It concerns you, too. But we really shouldn't," the former administrator cautioned his young blind love: "It's for Maria. She'll open it, as soon as she gets back, I'm sure."
"Well, maybe it's better that we don't know what it says," Lanike suddenly chuckled nervously, but Daktylos liked the way she was approaching the mysterious news.
Lanike had placed her little windmill on the bench in the meantime, and Daktylos pushed the small envelope underneath. One of the small wooden wings cast a sharp shadow onto the white paper, however, like a black arrowhead, which gave the scene something sinister.
Eventually, Daktylos placed the telegram inside his book, so that the wind wouldn't blow it away.Strange, how the news of news can change the overall mood, Daktylos thought to himself. When he looked at Lanike's lovely face again, she seemed rather pensive as well, but going to the goats behind his house as if nothing had happened didn't feel right, either.
And it would have been an unnecessary detour, they both knew. The telegram had made everything more intense. More precarious, too.And more urgent. Lanike could play with the kids later, when Stavros would be back. He had been friends with Konstantinos for three decades, though, and probably will have lunch at the shepherd's house, Daktylos was sure.Speaking of:
"Are you hungry?" he asked Lanike; after all, he had promised to take good care of her.
"No, I'm not hungry," she shook her head: "But thirsty," she added, smiling impishly again, after she had turned her head and her wide-open eyes toward Daktylos.
"Well, I'll fetch you a glass with water. Do you want me to squirt some lemon in it?"
Perhaps the last verb had triggered something in Lanike - or she simply didn't want to wait here on the bench by herself - but she offered togo insidewith him. Quietly, not demanding.Yet firm. Urgent, yes. No buts. As if she was ready. She had had several days to think the whole thing over - and now was the moment.
Maybe also, because of the ominous telegram. As soon as they reached in the kitchen, Daktylos and Lanike kissed briefly, before they embarked on a passionate, two-minute-long smooching. He unbuttoned her blouse, while their mouths were attached and their tongues dancing with each other.
It would be impossible to remove her chemise without taking off her skirt, too, but feeling her stiffening nipples through the fabric aroused Daktylos enough to feel a solid erection oncoming. Sweating and in heat, as Lanike was standing in front of him, with her blouse unbuttoned, he was about to lose his mind.
He still managed to cut a lemon and sprinkle a few drops of juice into the glass of water he had already poured. After she had taken a big gulp, he opened her blouse like curtains in the morning, before he kneaded her flesh some more, and they desperately kissed again.
Daktylos imagined gently bending her over the kitchen table: After which he would have folded her skirt up, reach between Lanike's legs and arrange the fabric of her knickers in her groins. But then, he thought of thefresh cloththat Maria had pinned there an hour ago.And there was time for a more elaborate love play.Than simply bending her over the kitchen table.
No, so far, this had been a wonderfully halcyon morning, which had only been interrupted by the message that there was a message. No, we'll now take our sweet time and celebrate our lust, Daktylos decided, as he grabbed Lanike's hand and led her over to his bed, where he instantly opened the thick, large button on the side of her skirt.
Before he would forget, Daktylos scurried over to the window, where he closed the shutters, just in case. Doing so, he saw the edge of the telegram peeking out from his book, as well as the little wooden windmill, Lanike's favorite toy. For some reason, he told her when he was back that he would also show her the house later:
"You're going to be here more often from now on," he panted.
Lanike only nodded but seemed relieved. She was smiling inwardly, standing at the foot end of the bed. Daktylos, however, sat down and positioned her between his knees. Now, his face was near her lovely heaving chest, and he leaned forward to pick up her scent - a bit, as if he was blind:
"The chemise is from Elena, Maria told me this morning," Lanike giggled.
"That's a nice touch," Daktylos murmured, before he leaned back again, admiring Lanike's supple, aroused figure.
Yes, Lanike wearing Elena's clothes felt like she was replacing his late wife now. With was true, in many ways. And pragmatically, it was the best way to make use of the resources, of course.
"I think I recognize the petticoat; yes," Daktylos murmured when he reached for Lanike's young, firm breasts again - which felt swollen to the utmost.
He was rubbing her nipples with his thumbs; they were poking through the fabric, and now was an apt moment to ask about young Stavros again, Lanike's cousin, who had been courting her for a short while:
"Have you actually done it, with your cousin?" Daktylos snorted.
"No. I think he wanted to but Maria was always nearby. He had his hand in my knickers a few times," Lanike giggled again: "Under my dress."
Suddenly, the ominous telegram seemed almost forgotten.
"Did you like it?" Daktylos was curious.
"Well... he always sniffed his hand afterward. I could hear that," Lanike was still amused: "Once, he even licked his fingers..."
"But sometimes, you stick your hand inside your knickers, too, huh?" Daktylos was curious.
"Yes... and then, I smell my fingers..." Lanike laughed refreshingly, but it seemed that she wasn't willing to divulge more of her titillating secrets.
Which was clever. Charming and arousing.Oh, how much I love her!Daktylos thought and caught himself smiling. As if on cue, Lanike now pushed her skirt past her hips, since the button had already been opened. When she let go, the piece landed on the wooden floor boards with a muffled, very light thud.
Daktylos picked up the garment, wondering if he should wiggle his hand through the large slit in the crotch of Lanike's underwear. And then lick his fingers. But there was thefresh cloth- and now, Lanike announced that she neededto pee. As she was half-undressed already, he didn't want to reverse the process and lead her to the outhouse but just offered tofetch a bowl.
