ECA - 3 Randy Rangers
It had been a week since the big shopping spree. The house had begun to be accustomed to Laura's presence. Franny enjoyed having someone to talk to when Will was off working or tinkering with the robots downstairs. The two could talk for hours about anything, from the weather outside to the meaning of life. Benworth took a liking to her as well, granted, not as noticeable. He wouldn't chat with her too much, but the Vault Girl found small snacks the Mr. Handy made specially for her just appearing nearby. Will and the woman haven't had any more fun yet, Either due to the Mechanic being drowned with work or a certain robot popping out of nowhere.
After a few days of this routine, Laura caught Will in the morning. Mid scarfing down some biscuits. He was trying to rush to the workshop, but she moved in the doorway to keep him from getting through. The Mechanic almost ran into her.
"Will!" She yelled.
The tall guy looked down at her before speaking.
"Yes?"
She was wearing her Vault suit, with the upper half tied at her waist. From his angle, he could see a very great view of her cleavage. She spoke again, pulling his attention away.
"I need to talk to you about something."
He wasn't really in a rush, just one he kept himself to. So he had the time. Will nodded and led the two to the living room. So they could chat while sitting comfortably. Will splayed out on the couch while Laura sat down in a nearby recliner. Both have seen better days.
"Okay, Will. I am thankful for everything. But I feel like I am taking advantage. Do you think there is anything I can do around her to pay you back? Also, as much as your bed is nice, I would like to have my own bed. Preferably my own room. But get to that later."
The Mechanic listened to what she said. Staring at the ceiling intently. Trying to think of something she could do. He was a manic in his workshop and didn't like anyone doing anything in there. That was when Franny spoke up. She had entered to bring tea that Bensworth made for Laura. Setting it down in front of the woman.
"You could always send her on a run to Bunker Hill."
Will looked at his robot-like she was crazy, before speaking.
"That is a fast way to get her killed. If she goes the ruins way, there are Super Mutants. She goes to the bridge way, there are Raiders. She is going to die either way."
Franny motioned downstairs before talking.
"Just send her with the bots you take on your usual trips. If they are enough to protect you, they are enough to protect her."
Will let out an annoyed sigh. She had a point about the robots being capable, but he was still worried.
That was when Laura spoke up.
"How about you let me try once? Send me on the run with the robots. Maybe one or two more if you are worried. If I can do it without problems, you let me do this more often? Make me a full employee. That way, you can send me off to work while you shut yourself away in the workshop. Meaning you can get work done while the sales are being made."
The Mechanic locked eyes with her to see how determined she was. Seeing that she was, he realized he would have to act.
"Here is how it is going to go." He spoke. "I am going to let you have this trial run. You will have two parts to it."
She looked a bit excited and relieved.
"First, you are going to take a robot over there to be sold. After you do that, you are going to pick up some spare parts I have already ordered. You will stop at my outpost at Hangman's Alley on the way back. You will use those parts to help the Mr Handy over there do maintenance. With your Pip-boy, it should be fine. Then come back here."
Laura thought over the trial in front of her. It was the furthest she would be going in her life. It was hot and muggy. As well as having threats all along the way. Granted, she had some of the best protection in the wasteland. The two Assaultrons with the reinforced armor Will had decked them out in. They wouldn't be easy to overcome. Then, add the Sentry Bot. Will had done the same, too. She knew that not even someone in Power Armor would have a chance against it. The three were scary. And she didn't know what other robots the Mechanic would be sending her with.
"I accept."
With the Vault Girl agreeing to do the job, Will knew what he had to do.
"Okay then."
He got up from the couch, patting Laura's head. He then left the room, and she didn't see him until the sun had already set. She was looking over a map of the path she would be taking with Franny. At the same time, Bensworth replaced her cup of coffee. When the Mechanic rushed her covered in oil and grease. Catching her off guard.
"Laura!"
She jumped as he yelled.
"Yes?"
She tried not to let him get too close to rub off on her clothes.
"Got something to show you."
Without waiting for her to register what he said, the Mechanic grabbed her arms, dragging her down the stairs to his workshop. The Vault Girl doing her best to not trip on the stairs. Or fall into him when he suddenly stopped in front of the workshop door. Will opened the door, pulling her in with him. Bringing her to a Mr Gutsy.
"That is Sarge. You will be taking him to Bunker Hill. A Caravanner bought him as a guard. So, on the way over, he will be giving you extra protection."
After the Mr Gutsy gave a small salute, Will turned the two of them around to another robot. It looked to be the smallest robot she had seen. It was just a ball with a lot of antennae sticking out of it. She couldn't tell how it was about to see anything, but she guessed it was behind the weird-looking grill on the front of the ball.
"This is Pooch the Eyebot. He is a test run for you."
She could see P.O.C.H. painted on the side.
"This is a Projected Outline Caravan Helper program in an Eyebot. It is a program I am trying out. If it works, then it is being mass-produced. Its purpose is to be a sort of map. Linking up with the various towers in the region to help them know their location in the Commonwealth. I am sending the trial version with you to test out. If it goes well, when you get back, I am mounting a weapon on the Eyebot frame. I didn't want it to interfere with the other electronics, so it is going weaponless on the first run."
Laura looked over the smaller Eyebot that beeped at her.
"It is cute. And you are sure it is going to work?"
Will gave her a nod. It was a program he already used to get around the Commonwealth. So, it was a tried and tested system. Just the first time he put it in a robot. But he wasn't going to tell her. Let her feel more special.
"Yup. So you should get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow."
Laura nodded and went upstairs. Getting the welcome surprise of Pooch following her. When followed up after cleaning the workshop, he witnessed Pooch sitting at the foot of the bed like a dog. The Vault Girl was long since asleep.
She had left the next day, and it had been half a week since she had left. Will had been worried the first few days, but not as bad as the Miss Nanny had assumed he would be. She called him out on it during the second day. Where the Mechanic revealed why he wasn't a nervous wreck, he had attached a tracker in Pooch. And with the program, he always knew where they were. What was funny was that Will found out that Franny started to use the program more than he did. The goofy worry bot.
The day she left, Will had enacted a scheme he had thought of while working on Pooch. He went out, buying various building materials. Then he had a few of the Mr. Handies and Protectrons in the workshop prepared to expand the house. Having them work day and night to expand the third floor. So that Laura would have her own room as soon as she made it back. He already had a bed ready. He would let her pick out the other decorations after returning.
With it being half of a week later, Will knew that they should be at Bunker Hill, and looking at the program, he was happily proven right. Meaning he was at his most relaxed during the trial so far. He was still worried, but he trusted Bunker Hill's walls to protect her for the next day or so. Also, he found an annoying problem brought about by this. With her covering the run, he had been at the house and got all of the stuff he needed done early. And at this point, he was only in the way of the building effort. He was bored, and he playfully blamed her for that.
This was why he was going out. He wanted to get a drink with other people. Not really something alcoholic. Just be around others. Because of that, he skipped the Colonial Taphouse that was almost within arm's reach from his home. To go to the Dugout Inn down in the lower parts of the city. It was both a bar and an inn, so it had locals and new people passing through. So, it was the place he tended to go when he did feel social.
As he made his way inside, Will did a once-over of the people inside. Most were locals. But as he approached the bar to get his drink, he noticed two that stood out. They were definitely not from the city. Hell, they didn't like they were even from the Commonwealth. Diamond City had visitors like that. But they were few and far between. The last major outsider was years ago, but he really didn't remember when exactly.
Will got himself a nuka cola and noticed the two women were looking at him as much as he had been looking at them. So the Mechanic decided to order them a new drink, bringing it over to them with him. Noticing it being whisky and scotch.
"Hello there. I am Will. I can see you are new here. So here is a drink from a local."
They accept the drinks, and now that he is closer, he can get a clearer look at what they are wearing.
The two seemed to be wearing the same thing. They had brown pants, armored boots, and brown button-ups. Covered by an older brown long coat like a duster. With armored forearms and shoulders. They had helmets connected to an armored mask on the front. The goggles of the mask were green. In different parts of the strange armor are the letters NCR in very worn white.
The shorter one, having green eyes, pale white skin, and long red hair that went halfway down her back, patted the spot next to them.
"Names Sarah. How about you have a seat."
The other woman, a much taller one, waved at Will. She was definitely Latina. Having dark skin, equally long black hair, and brown eyes.
"I'm Maria. And thanks for the booze."
The two gave him a sort of military feel, like the Gunners.
He sat down between the two.
"You can probably guess what I am going to ask."
Maria took a gulp of her whiskey.
"Fine. You already bought us drinks, and it isn't a secret."
Sarah took a sip of her scotch. Will felt a bit out of place, so he opened his Nuka and took a small gulp. As Maria was figuring out the right way to explain things, the Mechanic noticed that the Latina was very endowed. Her shirt looked like it was fighting to hold back a much larger bust than Laura's, at least from his small glimpse.
After a few moments of gathering her thoughts, the Latina spoke.
"We are from a nation on the other side of the US. Called the New California Republic."
She motioned to the NCR on her outfit.
"It is a pretty big nation. That tries to bring some civilization, protection, and stability back to the wasteland. Before we left, it was all of California. Went as far north as reaching into southern Oregon. Reached as far south as Baja Mexico. And went as far east as a good way into Nevada."
She continued to speak. "Long Story short, the NCR met its somewhat equal in the east called Caesar's Legion. A massive slave nation that tries to be like the old-world Romans. I guess it worked. And they see themselves as bringing their own version of civilization to the wasteland. I will give it to them. Legion has less overall corruption than the NCR, and their lands are completely raiderless. Legion is so barbaric in their punishments that none are brave enough to cross them. Legion doesn't use tech save for some specific ones for war and fighting. So their medical tech is just using healing powder. Very barbaric."
"Legion claims to control all of Arizona and New Mexico. But they seem to have pushed a good way into Utah, Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma at this point. So size-wise, they could hold their own against the NCR."
Maria took a few sips from her tequila.
"Two nations kept away from each other by the wide Colorado River. Until Hoover Dam. Something from the old world that could reliably make power. The NCR set up there. Preparing to hold it. And potentially expand east from there. But the Legion was on the other side."
Will watched as the two took a big gulp of their drinks. Getting that something big was about to happen. Maria continued.
"The first war of Hoover Dam happened. And the NCR won a sort of pyrrhic victory. A good portion of our troops led their army to a nearby town that had been rigged with explosives. Their army was destroyed, but so were the forces that led them in."
The Mechanic understood why they did the big gulp now. But they said the first battle.
Maria hadn't stopped. "We won, and the Legion spent years licking its wounds. But because no legit treaty was made, there was no actual peace. NCR spent those years building up defenses on our side of the river and Hoover Dam. But it was spread thin. Doing too many things at once. All the while, an independent city called New Vegas was bleeding us dry."
The two took a more somber look.
"No one could have predicted what happened. When the second battle of Hoover Dam started, this massive army of Robots seemed to come out of nowhere, supported by an actual flying bomber. It was the craziest thing. Turns out it was New Vegas. And they forced Legion and NCR out of the region. Declaring its full independence and self-sufficiency."
Sarah spoke up. "Damn House. Still lets Civilians from NCR go to Vegas to blow their money. So there is that."
The two finished their bottles.
Maria let out a big sigh after finishing her bottle.
"And that is how the circumstances led to us being here. NCR can't really expand eastward through diplomatic annexations anymore. Only north or south. And now there are a lot of Rangers that had joined the NCR, specifically, to keep the Legion out. But now, this little power in the desert is doing it. So the Republic has a surplus of Rangers for the first time ever. Some Rangers were picked for special missions. Pretty much explore North America to see what is out there, and the survivors are to report back. Sarah and I got the short straws. And got the East Coast. One hell of a long trip. Crossed Mexico. Took boats along the Gulf Coast. Then boats along the East Coast. Dear lord, there is nothing out here. Just independent groups and stubborn inbreds."
The Mechanic, seeing their annoyance, got them new bottles. And the two had gotten down to a half in a few gulps.
"The only consistent things we found were Ghouls and Pompous people in Power Armor."
Sarah interrupted her. "Hey, the food in Texas and Louisiana was pretty good. And we saw the weird super monsters in the Everglades. Swamplurks and Swampclaws, I think? And then the East Coast Chapter of our enemies. At least they didn't seem to recognize us. Or didn't know about the war at all."
They could see Will was looking at them, confused.
"Legion over here?"
They shook their heads. Maria answered him.
"Legion wouldn't be able to make the trip. She is talking about the Brotherhood of Steel. A group of technology-worshiping idiots. Seems they have spread much further than we thought. We used to be allies with them. However, the NCR grew faster, and the BoS wanted to claim all technology. Leading to relations souring. A war has been going on for a good few decades at this point."
Will notices that the two seem to have gotten very drunk. He felt a bit guilty. He usually tried to keep people from going too far. But he didn't know their limits and was too focused on what they were saying to notice them getting plastered.
"Hey. You, too, look pretty good and drunk."
He motioned to Sarah, having already started to lay her head on the table. Maria kinda tilted back and forth in her chair.
"I got a decent bed at the house. Since I got you drunk, how about I give you two a free place to stay tonight?"
He could see their faces taking in the information. And drunkenly work over it before figuring something out. The two nodded, Sarah nodding on the table.
Helping the two gather their things, he watched as they shoved their helmets into their bags. Leaving only their bags to be carried. The two stood up, and Sarah seemed to be wobbling. Not really stable. Will offered to carry her things and her. And after a bit of confusion, the Rangers watched as he put her bag on his back. Then lifted the much smaller redhead into a bridal style. The Mechanic looked to Maria.
"Will need your help with doors."
She nodded, putting her bag on her back, and the two made their way out.
Once out, Will motioned to where they were going. Maria grumbled something and leaned into the Mechanic. It was then he made his way back across Diamond City. One girl in his arms. Her stuff was on his back. Another girl with her own pack was using him as a crutch. Putting most of her weight on him. He moved slowly, and could feel Sarah falling asleep in his arms. It took him a bit longer, but he had finally managed to get the two drunken women to his home.
When they made it inside, they were met by Bensworth and Franny. It looked like Bensworth was about to say something loud when Franny put an arm in front of him. Seems she noticed the sleeping girl in Will's arms first. Will gave her a nod of thanks.
"Hey, Franny. How about you get a warm bath set up for Maria here? She is still awake."
The Nanny bot nods and floats upstairs with nothing to say, and the Handy bot putters off. Maria nuzzles the side of the Mechanic's head with her head.
"Thanks."
Will helps them both upstairs to his room. Setting Sarah down on his bed. Maria was now able to stand on her own a bit. The two set the big bags to the side, and Maria tried to make Sarah more comfortable. The Mechanic watched as the Latina partially stripped the redhead. Removing her coat, boots, and pants. Leaving Sarah in just her shirt and underwear on the bed. He had to admit she looked cute and sexy with all of that skin showing. She just let the clothes drop to the floor. Dropping her own cloak and boots. Then looked at Will.
"Imma go and enjoy that bath while it is still hot."
And with that, he was left alone with the passed-out Ranger.
Deciding to tidy up a bit, Will moved around the bed to pick up the girl's clothes to put them into a nice pile to the side. But as he passed by the bed, he felt something grab at his waist. Looking down, green eyes stared back up at him. Sarah was awake, and her hand was at his waist.
"I felt and heard everything. You carried me back and didn't try to take advantage. I want to thank you."
Her words were a bit slurred, but he figured she was there enough. He was wondering what she meant until her hand at his waist moved to rub his crotch over his pants.
The redhead gave him a small smirk, pushing herself around until her head was near his crotch. Still on her back.
"How about you pull that thing out and let me get it nice and wet."
She unbuttoned her shirt as Will pulled his member free. It was already hard at the small show she was giving him. And the Ranger gave him a thumbs up.
"Got a pretty good one there."
She then let her head hang off the bed. Opening her mouth. It was very clear what she wanted. Pushing his member into her mouth. The Ranger assaulted his member with her tongue immediately. Rolling it around his cock.
After a few minutes of this treatment, she tightened her lips around the cock. And motioned for Will to pull out. The sound of suction and then a pop as he pulled his member free from her mouth was easily heard. The Mechanic watched as the redhead pushed her way around until she was positioned with him between her legs. Grabbing and pulling back on her knees to spread her legs good and wide. Giving Will a wink.
