The first two weeks in New Hope blurred together. Names, injuries and endless faces; there was always someone rolling up with anything from a split knuckle to a burn. Erin and Arthur kept pace beside me, learning fast, swapping jokes while I cleaned wounds and showed them how to stitch.
I was still surprised by how quickly the town accepted me. Kids waved when they passed, adults shouted greetings through the doorway. Every day something small appeared on the counter, a handful of berries, a jar of pickled veg, even a hand-stitched vest someone thought might fit me. It wasn't grand, but it made me feel better than I ever had before
New Hope was... easy. Bodies moved through it without shame. People wandered back from the showers with towels slung over shoulders, lovers kissed in the sunlight. The first time I turned a corner and found two lads fucking against a water barrel, they grinned at me like I'd caught them dancing rather than rutting. After that, I just smiled back and kept walking.
When I wasn't in the infirmary, I stole moments with Ren and Akeem. Once, Akeem caught me in the shadow of a storage shed, his palms still dusty from work, and kissed me hard enough to leave my lips swollen before jogging off to his patrol. Other nights Ren would saunter in claiming he needed fresh bandages, only to end up perched on my desk while we talked about everything except medicine, Erin walking in as he passionately pushed me against a wall.
But the last few days, both were tangled up in leadership meetings, sorting supplies and patrols, and I'd barely seen either of them.
...
The sun had set as I wandered along the perimeter wall, hoping I'd bump into one of them. I climbed up a deserted guard tower, the metal ladder groaning beneath my boots. At the top, I folded my arms on the low wall and leaned out, staring across the wastes. Just shadows and silhouettes out there; dead trees, fallen pylons, the occasional jagged ruin reaching for the stars.
The ladder clinked again. I stiffened, until I heard that familiar voice behind me.
"What are you doing up here handsome?"
I smiled, not turning. "Came looking for you. We've barely seen each other this past week."
Ren stepped in close, hands sliding over my hips. I melted back into him, letting the back of my head rest on his shoulder.
"I know," he murmured. "Things should calm down now."
"I hope so. I've missed you," I said, grinding my arse back into his crotch just enough to prove it. I turned my head and kissed him lightly.
That was all he needed. His lips slammed into mine with hunger. His hands gripped my shoulders and gently bent me forward until my elbows rested on top of the waist-height wall.
"Been thinking about this all fucking week," he growled. "Stuck in meetings, with a constant semi, just waiting to get you alone."
"Romantic," I teased.
He shoved my trousers down with urgency, exposing my arse to the night air. His thumbs pulled my cheeks apart, and crouched. I felt his tongue, hot and wet, dragging across my hole..
I gasped. "Anyone could come up here."
"Let them," he said, before diving back in with filthy enthusiasm. His stubble scratched at my cheeks as his tongue teased me open.
I tried not to moan, but the sounds escaping my mouth weren't subtle. His grip tightened on my hips, pulling me closer to his mouth.
"Fuck, Ren," I panted. "You're gonna make me come just from that."
He pulled back just long enough to say, "You'd like that, wouldn't you? Me tongue-fucking you till you shoot all over the wall."
I whimpered at that. His tongue worked in tight circles, then darted inside again, slow and deep. My legs trembled. Precum was steaming from my cock.
Eventually, he stood and unzipped, releasing his cock, "Look at that," he muttered, "Leaking already. Got this wet just from tasting you."
He grabbed my hips again, rubbing the head of his cock between my cheeks, coating my hole with his precum.
"Is this okay?" he asked, voice rough.
"Yes," I breathed. "Please."
He pressed in slowly, as I clenched around him, making him hiss through his teeth.
"You feel so fucking good. I've needed this."
He began to thrust, each movement making the platform creak. One hand found my mouth and covered it.
"Quiet," he murmured, lips brushing my ear. "Unless you want everyone down there to hear how much the cute little medic loves being bent over."
I moaned against his hand, ""I don't give a fuck." My body vibrated as I pushed back into each thrust.
Ren froze as we heard two voice below- chatting. He was still buried inside me, both of us holding in our laughs.
The voiced laughed and as they grew fainter.
Ren snorted softly and bit down on my shoulder. "Well that was close."
"Finish what you started." I whispered.
He pulled out just long enough to spit on his cock and slammed it back inside, as he pounded me harder and faster, holding my hips so tight I thought there'd be bruises.
Then suddenly he slowed, his thrusts turning deep and deliberate. His hand slipped from my hip to my cock, stroking me in time with his rhythm, my foreskin rolling back and forth over the sensitive tip.
"You're gonna come for me, right here, bent over this wall," he murmured into my neck. "Don't hold back."
That was all it took. I groaned as I came, splattering the ledge and shooting out into the darkness. My body clamped down around him, and Ren growled as he emptied himself inside me.
He stayed inside for a few long seconds, panting against my back. Then he pulled out and smacked my arse. "Next time, you're filling me."
I laughed, breathlessly. "I'm already counting the hours."
He walked me back to the apartment and gave me a soft kiss outside the communal door. Then he disappeared back into the night, gun on his back a patrol to finish.
...
The next morning I woke as sunlight crept across the bed, I groaned and rolled onto my back, sore in all the best ways, I got dressed quietly and pressed a kiss to Ren's head as he slept.
By the time I made it to the infirmary, Erin and Arthur were already halfway through patching up a man who'd sliced his palm open. Erin grinned as I walked in.
"You're late. Rough night?"
"Sorry, overslept," I replied waving at Jerry-the patient.
Aaron barked a laugh. "Is that what they're calling it now?"
I threw a bandage at him, "Focus, or you'll fuck up Jerry's stitches."
"Don't you mind me" the old guy chuckled, "Noah, Elijah and Aria said to tell you they're back."
"Wait, what?" I said, straightening up. "When?"
"Last night," Jerry answered, wincing as Arthur tied off a stitch. "Came in after dark. Looked pretty roughed up, if you ask me."
I frowned, feeling a pang of guilt. I'd been so wrapped up in my reunion with Ren that I hadn't even noticed their return. "Did they come by the infirmary?"
Erin shook her head. "No. So they can't be that bad."
I checked my pack for supplies and swung it over my shoulder, telling the room I was going to check them both over.
The warehouse was only a five minute walk, its metal shell mottled with rust and sunlight. From outside, it looked like a gutted factory, but stepping through the wide doors was like walking into another world.
People had carved the huge space into a hundred little worlds. Some had rigged up bunk beds with salvaged scaffolding, others had nailed old shipping crates together to make private corners. Sheets, blankets, and plastic tarps hung as walls, turning the vast open floor into a patchwork of living quarters. A long pipe that ran along the roof had been tapped for water, dripping into barrels below where people filled jugs or washed clothes.
A group of kids tore past me, their laughter echoing up to the rafters. One of them, a boy with a scar on his forehead, grinned when he saw me. "Noah!"
He tugged his sleeve up to show the fading stitches on his arm. "See? You fixed it good!"
"Looks perfect," I said, ruffling his hair. He beamed and bolted off again.
I navigated through the labyrinth of personal spaces, nodding at familiar faces who looked up from their midday routines. I found their little section and stepped around the divider. To find them lounged out on their beds. "Hey there, stranger," Aria smiled lifting her legs, "Sit down, join the party."
Elijah beamed from where he laid, his leg propped up on a folded blanket. "Our very own medic making house calls. Fancy."
Their space was small but tidy. Two single beds pushed against opposite walls, a small wooden table between them cluttered with maps and mugs. They'd built makeshift shelves from scavenged planks and cinder blocks, packed with their treasures.
I gave them both hugs before sitting, "How are you. Why didn't you didn't come to the infirmary?"
"We got in late." She replied.
"Might as well check you both over while I'm here," I said, pulling my medical bag closer.
Aria sighed dramatically but nodded. "Fine, if you insist."
She sat up and pulled her shirt over her head in one fluid motion. I sucked in a breath at the sight of the massive purple-blue bruise spreading across her left side, wrapping from her back around to just beneath her pert breast.
"Jesus, Aria. Why didn't you wake me when you got in?" I moved closer, my fingers hovering over the discoloured skin.
She shrugged, then winced at the movement. "Didn't want to disturb you just for this."
"Next time, wake me," I said firmly, carefully running my fingers along her ribs, feeling for any abnormalities beneath the skin. She hissed when I hit a particularly tender spot. "What happened?"
"Ravers," Elijah supplied from his bed. "Cornered us about fifteen miles east. We thought it was clear, but they were waiting."
"They came out of nowhere," Elijah added. "Four of them, planned on killing and robbing us."
My fingers continued their examination, feeling for any give or sharp pain that might indicate fractures. "How'd you get away?"
"Aria happened," Elijah said with admiration. "Took down two before they knew what hit them. The others scattered pretty quick after that."
"Only after one of them got a good kick in," she winced as I pressed a particularly tender spot.
"It's just a bruise. Bad one, but your ribs feel intact. Nothing seems broken."
She didn't reach for her top, instead leaning back on her hands, "Told you it wasn't worth waking you for."
I turned my attention to Elijah next, moving to his bed. "Let's see what's going on with you."
He grimaced as I carefully examined his knee, my fingers probed gently around the joint, feeling for any signs of fracture or dislocation.
"Definitely twisted," I said, placing his leg back down carefully. "You'll need to stay off it for a few days. I'll bring you a crutch later today."
"Great," Elijah sighed, leaning back against the wall. "Just what I needed. Oh, we didn't just run into trouble. We actually had some good luck too. Met some young traders from The Fairground while we were heading back."
"The Fairground?" I wrapped a compression bandage around Elijah's knee. "That's the settlement we trade with to the south, right?"
"Yeah, two young guys. Akeem mentioned us trading some tech with them for building supplies."
We talked some more about the deals Keke was hoping to make with them and another group called Mountain Side.
Until Aria stood, "These clothes are filthy. Need to get them washed before the stains set in." She shimmied out of her trousers, standing completely naked now, "Elijah, you too, I'll take yours too."
Elijah looked helpless, "Aria I can barely move."
"I've got this," I laughed, "Let me help."
I knelt beside Elijah's bed as Aria pulled on a baggy t-shirt that barely covered her arse. She tossed her dirty clothes into a small pile on the floor.
"Just be careful with my knee," Elijah winced as I started to help him out of his clothes.
I worked his trousers down carefully, trying to minimize movement of his injured leg. When I pulled them past his hips, I noticed he had a semi-erection, but I kept my expression neutral and continued easing the fabric down his legs. His blonde pubic hair curled tightly at the base of his cock, and his balls stuck to his thigh.
I passed the clothes to Aria. She thanks me, tucking them under her arm. "I'll be back in a bit. Need anything else while I'm out?"
"All good," Elijah said, pulling a thin blanket over his lap.
"See you later," I said as she headed out to wash their clothes.
After she left, I turned back to Elijah. "You all good? Want a shower?"
"Later. I need some more sleep."
"Cool. I'll bring the crutch in a bit." I said grabbing my bag and leaving him to rest.
