A Tale of Tits and Trolls Pt. 03

(* Due to light readership of this three part story, I've decided to wrap it up with a conclusion which I hope most will find satisfactory. This brief non-erotic conclusion is told from a future vantage point of a mother and her two children, looking back at what happened to Wren, Shale, Neith, and others during the time of the troll curse, and how the curse was finally ended. I have several more ideas for erotic stories - I plan to move on to the next one now that this tale is finished. As always, thank you for reading.)

Eastern Farmlands - the family hearth.

Almost bedtime

"Tell us, mother, how did Wren escape the troll?" The little girl asked excitedly.

"Alright, my love," the mother replied gently to her daughter. The mother adjusted the worn book in her lap and then continued with her approach of referencing the book, then relating the tale to her two children in an appropriate way.

"Princess Wren was able to grab a spear from the ground beside her tent, but she knew better than to try to fight the troll herself. She jabbed the tip of the spear into a small burning log at the edge of their campfire - and then - she threw the spear right at the troll's face, and ran away, really fast, until she found a hiding place between two big rocks beneath the cliff overlooking their camp," the mother informed.

"The troll kept chasing after Wren; it wanted her magic, in some way, and this allowed General Garnet and the others who had kidnapped Wren, to defeat the troll. It was a fierce fight, and two of Garnet's women were lost - one, the woman who had been tossed against rocks by the troll's inhuman strength when it first discovered the women's campsite, and another, who - fell, during the main battle." The mother paused and looked at both of her children before saying, "You know, sometimes bad things happen, and people are hurt - that's why we always need to be careful, and watch out for each other..."

"Yes, mother," the two children responded in unison.

"Did Wren get saved? Did she become Queen?" The younger child, a boy, inquired.

"How did the curse end? The daughter questioned.

"Be patient, and I will tell you everything," the mother said with her eyes aglow.

"General Calanthe's rescue squad, including Prince Shale, caught up to General Garnet and Wren just before they reached the Western hills and Queen Selene's castle. The two sides were about to engage in a fight over Wren when they were attacked by three fierce trolls, but these were not wild trolls. These trolls had been part of Queen Selene's army, but, something had happened and now they were running wild, uncontrolled, and they were hurting people."

The mother paused, considering.

"Let me tell you what happened - why Queen Selene's trolls were no longer being controlled, before I tell you what happened in the battle between the forces of Garnet, Calanthe, and the three trolls."

"You see, it turns out that Neith was the true Princess of the Western realm, the true daughter of Queen Selene. Princess Raven, who was not really a princess, and Princess Neith, had the same father, but, different mothers. Selene was the mother of Neith, while another court noble was the mother of Raven. Tragically, the two girls were somehow switched at birth..."

"This next part is sad, but, it is what happened. Princess Neith informed Queen Selene that she, Neith, was Selene's true daughter, and Neith was able to prove it by... an adult thing which she revealed to the Queen - something which could not be questioned. When Raven was informed by Queen Selene, with Neith at her side, and Raven knew in her heart that she was not the true Princess, she flew into a fit of hysterical rage, and tried to push Neith over the edge of the balcony where they stood. At the last moment, Queen Selene was able to grab Neith, her real daughter, and pull her away from the edge, saving her, but, then, in the ensuing struggle, both Queen Selene and Raven fell from the balcony, and, they died."

The two children sniffled, especially the little girl.

The mother continued, "So, it took a few days for Neith to establish herself and become Queen, and to... regain control over the troll army - those trolls who had not broken free from their cells. Fortunately, Neith was a kinder, gentler ruler than her mother had been in her later years, and Neith would, in time, guide her realm to become friends with the East; a return to the way things had been in the past. As Queens, Neith and Wren themselves would become the closest of friends."

"Now, General Garnet had not yet been informed of the deaths of Queen Selene and Princess Raven, or that Garnet's lover, Neith, had been recognized as the true Princess and future Queen of the West, so Garnet was still acting on orders from Queen Selene - orders to kidnap Princess Wren."

"Calanthe and Garnet agreed to approach each other, alone, while their forces stood at the ready. Garnet had instructed one of her squad to take Wren and try to sneak away while Garnet delayed by negotiating with Calanthe, but, Wren broke free and started to run toward Calanthe and Wren's would be rescuers.

"And that's when the three escaped trolls lumbered into the midst of the women, and, almost as if of one mind, they fixated on Wren, just as the one wild troll had done a few days past. Both sides (Garnet's Western forces, and Calanthe's Eastern forces, including Wren's brother, Shale) sprang into action to protect Wren. Both sides had reasons why Wren was so important to them - for now, let's just say that it was Wren's magic, and that both sides wanted to keep her from harm."

"Now, this next part is sad too, but, also beautiful. You may not understand now, but, in time, when you are older, I'm sure that you will."

"After a fierce battle during which many women were injured, or worse, only one troll remained alive. This final troll, the largest and most violent of the three, charged toward General Calanthe with a heavy spear in its gnarled grasp."

"Calanthe, who had turned briefly to search for Wren did not see the charging troll until it was too late to defend herself."

"Prince Shale, who loved Calanthe beyond measure, chose in that moment to save the woman he loved at the cost of his own life. Shale launched himself between the troll and Calanthe just as the spear would have impaled her. Instead, the spear went through Shale's chest and did not touch Calanthe. Shale fell, gasping for breath, his face showing surprise, even though he had known what the result of his action would be. The troll then tried to wrench the spear free from Shale's fallen form, but this gave Calanthe the chance she needed. She swung her battle axe with all of her strength, and severed the troll's head from its body in one clean cut. As the troll's bloody head tumbled away, Calanthe dropped to her knees and pulled Shale's head into her lap."

"Calanthe spoke softly, 'Shale, why...' "

"Shale struggled to reply, 'You... are everything,' "

"Calanthe leaned down to kiss Shale one last time, but just as their lips were about to meet, time slowed, and the demoness who had cast the troll curse upon the world those long years ago, emerged from a dark void beside Calanthe and the fallen Shale. The demoness was a Queen among her own kind and possessed of great power. She was always watching the mortal world which fascinated her so, and the witnessing of Shale's great sacrifice, made out of love for Calanthe, drew her forth, like a moth to flame."

"Now, with time slowed for all except she, herself, and Shale, the demoness, appearing in her true form, reached down, placed her taloned hand upon Shale's forehead, and spoke into his mind, 'Come with me willingly. Love me, give yourself to me as you have done to this mortal woman, and I will save you, though not for this world. You will remain with me forever, loving only me. I will know if you lie, but if you can find it within yourself to show true love to me, in time, then I will claim you, and when I feel your love, I will release my curse upon this world - for you have shown me that some mortal men are capable of a beautiful devoted love for a single woman.' "

"Shale's eyes shifted to look upon Calanthe's face a final time, and then back to meet the gaze of the otherworldly demon Queen, 'I accept,' he said."

"When time resumed its normal flow, both Shale and the demon Queen were gone from this world, and Calanthe knelt alone with only earth and rock before her."

"Twenty years later, the troll curse ended, and the world was renewed."

"Wow, so, Shale sacrificed himself to save everyone," the little girl observed.

"That's right," the mother replied.

"What happened to Queen Valeria," the little boy asked.

"She lived to a very old age after stepping aside at the age of forty-one, to allow her daughter, Wren to become Queen of the Eastern realm.

"There's one more thing," the mother began, "A little while after returning home to the Eastern castle, one morning when Calanthe was polishing her shield, she happened to see a small inscription on the inside of the shield, near its handgrip. Upon looking closer, she read the tiny words, ' -- You are everything -- '."

"Alright, it's time for bed now," The mother said lovingly as she set the worn book aside. "Off with you..."
