My Wife is a Fuck Buddy Pt. 08
This story uses factual information about the skyscraper at 1 South St, New York. Obviously mistakes were made because the skyscraper has a pronounced lean. There are at least 2 Youtube videos explaining how "The Leaning Tower of Manhattan" came into being. I have no knowledge of 1 South St that isn't in a Youtube video.
The firms (and people) in this story are a product of my imagination. Any similarity to actual firms is accidental and unintentional.
THE STORY CONTINUES
Liz wanted revenge on her partner, Paul, the man she was having an affair with, Richard, and her best friend, Eve. I am married to Eve, but until recently had been unaware of my wife's infidelity.
What had been a satisfactory 3way had turned into a nightmare for Liz when Eve introduced her partner into their cosy sexual arrangement. Now Richard and Paul ruled the roost and Liz was sidelined. Meanwhile Eve was doing everything to ingratiate herself into Richard's good books. That meant being a sex servant to both men.
Richard's real love (after sex) was being on a cruise. His hadn't his father's interest in finance and building. So his father had arranged that he got a job as an entertainer on board a ship. He had been surprisingly good at the job and rose to be the Ship Entertainments Manager.
Liz had searched for information that she could use to ruin the sexual relations of the dominant 3. She was aware that Richard's father owns 40% of a firm called Urchin who have a large New York property folio. This portfolio included a luxury apartment on Billionaire's Row. But, like many of these ultra luxury apartments, it wasn't possible to sell it for a profit. Urchin had a book loss on it.
Richard's father had let his son use it to install his New York lovers - a mother and daughter - into it rent free. It looked better if the apartment had tenants. When the property market picked up the mother and daughter would have no tenant's rights. They would be evicted. Richard boasted that he fucked them both, but that he actually preferred having sex with the mother.
Richard also boasted that his father however didn't get enough highs from being an Urchin director. His father made lots of money from "options trading". His father got enough money from options to buy Richard an apartment in 1 Wall St.
INSIDER TRADING
Urchin planned to build a super slim luxury skyscraper (like those on Billionaire's Row) on 1 South St, New York. Richard's father knew that once this was known Urchin shares would double in price. He had purchased options and made enough money to buy an apartment in 1 Wall St.
Paul had asked "How do options work?"
Richard said "Urchin shares were $1. Dad knew they would rise to $2 once the announcement about 1 South St was made.
Dad paid 50 cents to have the right to buy 1,000 shares for $1.50. He potentially owned 2,000,000 shares. At $2 each share was worth $0.50 to Dad. Meaning he had made $1,000,000.to buy me my apartment."
Liz realised that Richard's father had engaged in illegal insider trading and that, at the very least, Richard was an accessory after the fact. This could mean prison and unlimited fines. It probably meant that Richard's father would be bankrupted and forced to resign as a Urchin director, Richard would lose his apartment on 1 Wall St and the use of the billionaire row apartment.
She kept her own counsel on this piece of knowledge. Liz appointed a commercial expert to investigate Urchin. She told him about the rumours. The key question he had to answer was "If 1 South St is valueless what is Urchin worth?"
The answer came back "Assuming no other problems are discovered then Urchin would be worth (at most) 80 cents. If the banks cause a fire sale then probably only 50 cents. If there are other problems it may have no value.
The Urchin share price will fall and rise as people speculate on the value that 1 South St has.
If you believe the rumours we strongly advise not trading in Urchin shares, and to sell any shares that you have."
THE OPTIONS BUG
Paul and Eve were taken with the idea that options trading could make them rich. All they needed was Richard's father to give them information and they would become $millionaires. They ignored the NYSE (and London SE) warning that "option trading is only for those with market expertise and deep pockets. You may lose all the money you invest."
ALBATROSS DAYS
Those who trade in options are "the big beasts who devour bulls but fear the bears and the albatrosses".
Paul and Eve would gain on bull (rising price) market for Urchin shares. They would lose money on a bear (falling price) market and a static market or "Albatross Days". They are called after the bird's revenge in the poem The Ancient Mariner.
The term referenced these words
"Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink".
Both Richard and Eve wanted to be rich. Richard had the ability to make them wealthy. Liz knew about the London SE's warning. She wanted the other 3 to go bankrupt and also go to prison
But she wanted to protect me and my wealth.
A BLIND DATE
Liz had informed me that my marriage to Eve was irrepairable. So she arranged a blind date for me with Sara. I like dogs and so does Sara. She is big breasted, which I like and she is good company. She was divorced from a "pig of a man" 5 years ago. Sara and I got on well and after a month I knew that we were likely to get wed. I told Sara everything, including my erectile dysfunction difficulty. I said that I would divorce Eve. Sara told me that, if I started divorce proceedings we could start living together.
STARTING THE DIVORCE.
Eve arrived home one day (probably after having sex with Paul) and I handed her the Petition of Divorce. I left the house immediately and phoned Sara. She asked me to stay with her but in different bedrooms until she got used to having a man in her house.
I agreed to Eve getting half the value of the house. The house sold quickly and now Eve had the capital to invest in options. Eve planned to stay with Paul and Liz.
But before she could Liz move into their flat Liz presented a claim for half the communal property because "we have lived together as man and wife for over 5 years, hence we have the same legal rights as married people". This was the cohabiting equivalent to presenting a Petition of Divorce to Paul.
Selling his half of their flat to Liz meant Paul would have the money to invest in options.
And he would had Eve and Richard for sex. Soon it would be "Goodbye Southampton, hello New York." All it needed was information from Richard about Urchin share price movements.
Richard emailed them "Urchin are in pole position to get a contract for the feasibility study into expanding Manhattan. Expect the announcement in about a week. Hold until next week when things will become clearer."
Eve and Paul were delighted. Then Richard email read "New York mayor to make announcement next Monday. Invest option price of $2.25."
This wasn't quite as good as Eve and Paul had hoped. But it would still make them both rich. They put all their money into the options.
URCHIN BOARD REACTS
But, before the Mayor could make his announcement Urchin urged him to cancel it.
The Board instead announced "There have been unforeseen problems with 1 South St's novel form of underpinning."
The rumours were true. The shares plummeted.
LIZ'S FINAL PIECE OF REVENGE
Liz reported to the NYSE scrutiny department that one of the Tony Drew (an Urchin Director) had used inside information and had secured a $1 million dollar flat at 1 Wall St with its proceeds".
Tony Drew received an Unexplained Wealth Order because he had "assets that are incommensurate with his known sources of income".
Richard's father lost his job, his shares and his house. Richard did a plea bargain and surrendered his apartment on 1 Wall St. His lovers in the luxury Billionaire's Row apartment were evicted. They wanted nothing more to do with Richard.
Richard kept his cruise job, but when they berth at Southampton he avoids Paul and Eve, who live in a rented flat in a poor area.
Sara and I are now happily married and we often meet with Liz.
