Paddling for Pain & Pleasure Pt. 05
The following morning Sam did explain most things to Fraser, and he listened and nodded, and accepted things as they were. He would help her in any way he could, what ever she did would be up to her.
The next few months were pretty much the same, they took out groups on the water, Sam did part-time work in the bar, occasionally brought guys home to fuck, and once in a while Fraser crept through to watch.
Then one day, Fraser asked a question.
"What do you think about the Duke of Edinburgh?" asked Fraser, as he and Sam worked in the office preparing paperwork and schedules for the upcoming season.
"He's an old pompous git!" replied Sam, not really looking up from what she was doing.
Fraser burst out laughing, "Not the guy, the Award Scheme! Did you never do it when you were at school?" he corrected.
Sam laughed back at her mistake, "No, never had the time, was doing to many other things. Why?" she queried.
"We've had a few schools contacting us about kayaking and kids doing their Gold expeditions with us, needing an Expedition Assessor. Would you be interested?" Fraser queried.
"What? Me becoming an Assessor?" Sam replied, horrified at the thought.
"Yes, I think you'd be great at it," he nodded, now getting Sam's attention, "You'd be a better age than a grizzled old bugger like me!"
Sam knew better than to disagree, Fraser would chip away art her until she said yes, so she nodded, "OK, so what do I need to do?"
Over the next month or so, Sam attended a couple of training sessions, completed on-line courses, and shadowed a couple of other Assessors. Then she was ready to go.
It didn't take long and soon they had several schools and local authorities contacting them about booking their services for various groups. In particular, Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) Silver and Gold groups found organising trips from Oban and around the outlying islands really beneficial to meet the expedition requirements.
In the middle of May Fraser forwarded on an e-mail he had received from a Young Persons charity in Glasgow. They had a group who were completing their Gold Award and had planned a kayak trip around the Isle of Mull, could Fraser's company provide an Assessor.
"What do you think, Sam?" queried Fraser, after Sam had read through the e-mail, "Can you fit it into your schedule?"
"Yes, the dates are OK," she replied, looking at him questioningly, "But do we have anything else booked in at the same time?" she replied.
Fraser shook his head, "Nothing I can' manage on my own, just a party of four for two of the days," he replied.
"OK, I'll get back in touch with them and get it organised," agreed Sam.
Over the next five or six weeks, Sam bounced e-mails back and forward with a Max, who would be bringing the group up from Glasgow. Max supplied Sam with the detailed plan that the Group had developed, and Sam had suggested just a few minor changes, but was happy with their plan.
Sam agreed to meet the Group near Craignure, near the ferry terminal on the island, as she planned to paddle over from the mainland the previous day. It was a lovely sunny calm day, and Sam arrived in Duart Bay, where they would be setting off from. She pitched her tent and had a hot evening meal of pasta then turned in.
The next morning was also fine, and Sam rose early and went for a swim. She cooked herself some porridge for her breakfast and as she sat and ate it she watched the ferry from Oban sail in towards the terminal. Twenty minutes later and Sam was just packing the last of her stuff back into the holds in her kayak when a minibus pulling a trailer loaded with six kayaks pulled into the carpark just above the beach.
Sam wandered up to greet them and watched as five very sleepy young men stumbled out of the van. From behind the steering wheel, Sam was surprised to see a woman emerge, who approached Sam with a puzzled look on her face.
"Are you Sam?" queried the woman, her blue eyes sparking in the early morning sunshine, and her golden blonde hair glowing. She was easily five-foot ten tall, and possibly in her mid-thirties thought Sam as she took the offered hand and shook it, nodding in confirmation.
"Yes, short for Samantha," Sam replied, before casting a look around the five guys, who were stretching and still yawning, barely awake, "Which of them is Max?" queried Sam.
"I am," grinned the woman, "Short for Maxine," and the two women looked at each other and laughed. From their e-mail correspondence both had been expecting the other to be male.
"Let me introduce you to my motley crew," offered Max, and the two headed over to where the five guys were now beginning to offload their kayaks and kit.
"Gentlemen, let me introduce Sam," began Max, "She's your assessor! She's the one you need to impress if you want to get your award."
The five looked at Sam in shock, and Sam caught a few whispered comments of 'shit', 'fuckin' hell' and similar, and she smiled. They obviously weren't expecting a woman either.
"So, here we have Mohammed, 'Mo' for short," began Max as she went through them from left to right as they two women faced the guys, "Then we have Amal, and this is Denis, and Robbie, and last but not least is Charlie, or Chip as he's sometimes called." This brought sniggers of laughter from the other guys as Charlie grinned broadly.
Sam cast an eye over the five again, they were an interesting group, and she was hoping that Max might give her a little more background into the five as they paddled.
"Ok, so as your assessor, as soon as you have your kayaks ready, I'll talk to you about your plans for today, but in the meantime, I'll just watch you loading your kit and talk to you about that," explained Sam.
The five nodded and got right back to work, they were coming alive now and Sam watched impressed as she saw really good teamwork and communication between the five as they got themselves organised then also into their wetsuits for paddling. As she watched them, she picked out that Mo, Amal and Denis, didn't have Scottish accents, unlike Charlie and Robbie, who had such broad Glaswegian that they were almost harder to understand. She'd need to ask Max about that.
Soon, they were ready to go so Sam got them into a circle to discuss their plan for the day. She quizzed them about the tides, the currents, the weather for the day, where they were going to camp, landmarks on route, compass bearings etc, and was really impressed with the responses they gave. She looked over at Max to see here beaming with pride, she had taught them well.
"Well, I think we're ready to go," agreed Sam, as she stood again, "Just one last thing, has anyone used one of these?" she asked, pointing to her VHF radio fastened to her buoyancy aid. The boys remained silent.
"No, it's not something we covered," admitted Max.
"That's OK, it's not a problem, we're staying inshore, but just for a little extra safety, I call in to the Coastguard and let them know we're going to be on the water."
A quick call and Sam let the Coastguard know that a party of seven would be paddling from Duart Bay down to Loch Buie. Then they were on the water.
Again, Sam was really impressed at how they helped each other get on the water then they headed out of the Bay and along the coast, Sam and Max following along behind.
"So, tell me about the group," Sam asked, as they effortlessly paddled along the tidal flow helping to push them along.
"It's quite a mixed bag," agreed Max, grinning, "And a troubled one."
"How so?" queried Sam.
"Well, all of them have been in and out of Young Offenders," began Max, getting right to the point, "Not for anything serious, petty theft, drugs, that sort of thing. But, our Charity thinks that letting them experience something like this and achieve this award might give them a second chance."
"Well, they've certainly started well in my book," nodded Sam, as she looked at the five a little differently.
"Well, next time they might not be so lucky," added Max, "They are all over eighteen now, so another run-in with the Police and it'll be prison. We don't want that."
"So, where have they come from, because they are not all Scottish?" asked Sam.
"Well, Robbie and Charlie are, you probably guessed that," laughed Max, "But Mo is from Somalia, Amal is from Libya, and Denis is from Ukraine, so, all refugees. I can't even imagine what they saw at home or on their journeys here."
Sam thought back to when Max had introduced them on the beach. Mo was a tall, skinny, very black young man, with dark eyes and wiry black hair, and Sam might have guessed he was from East Africa although might have thought a bit further south, like Kenya or Tanzania, but being a refugee, and from Somalia sounded right. Amal also fitted the picture, dark hair, but a lighter olive-like skin tone, would fit with a Mediterranean country, and after the problems in Libya, Sam could understand why he had left too. Sam had guessed that Denis had an Eastern European accent, but couldn't place it, could have been anywhere from Hungary, Bulgaria, through to the Balkans, so the Ukraine made sense too. Yes, it was an interesting bunch and Sam hoped she would have the chance to get to know them a little better over the next four days.
They paddled along at a good rate, helped by the currents and as Sam had to agree, the five young men were strong paddlers. She could have left them all standing if she had wanted to but was really enjoying just easily paddling along. Sam was also impressed by Max's controlled, measured paddling as well.
"Do you do a lot of kayaking?" asked Sam, as she and Max stroked along still following the guys.
"It's just a hobby," admitted Max, "I'm a member of a club that paddles regularly on the Clyde, but just for recreation."
"Well, you paddle well," complimented Sam.
"You too," replied Max, "What got you into it?" she queried.
Sam hesitated for a bit, then felt she could explain, "I did it to competition level," she admitted, hoping that would be enough.
"I thought so," added Max, "I thought I recognised you, but it was a few years ago."
Sam just nodded, and Max knew not to push it.
"I was surprised that you should come out with five guys on your own," asked Sam, also trying to change the subject a bit.
"Well, I was hoping it might be six," replied Max, laughing, "Was hoping I might be able to have a little fun with the Assessor."
Sam blushed madly, that thought had never crossed her mind, until then. And she looked at Max to find her watching her intently.
"Maybe I still will," Max added, and Sam thought she blushed even more.
Just at that point a call went up from Robbie, they had reached the small bay where they had planned to stop for lunch. All seven safely beached and within minutes water was being boiled for warm drinks and sandwiches and snacks were being unpacked and eaten. The seven sat and chatted about how the morning had gone so far. Sam expressed her delight at how well the group were working together and was happy to share her experience of paddling around the area.
Lying on the soft sand in the warm sun the group allowed themselves to recover before they prepared to set off again. Sam made another call to the Coastguard just to pass on their progress and obtain a weather update, to be told that they should expect an increase in the wind later on in the afternoon.
Back out on the water they headed towards their planned overnight camp in Loch Buie. Again, Max and Sam allowed the guys to take the lead as they followed on behind.
The women continued to chat as they paddled. Sam asking Max more about the charity that she worked for and the work they did, particularly with the young adults that had been in trouble with the police. Sam was really impressed at just how successful they had been in turning many of these young lives around.
Max was keen to find out just what sort of work she did in Oban and indicated just how she was jealous that Sam could get out on the water nearly every day. But Max was also interested in asking Sam about her love life, did she have a boyfriend, what sort of 'social' life did she have. Sam was a little reluctant to give away many details.
They had covered another five or six kilometres when they felt the wind pick up a bit, and with it the swell. It was still very manageable, but it did slow progress a bit as they had to just fight their way through the increased wave height, it was only twenty to thirty centimetres, but it made a difference.
Another half hour or so and the were paddling round the headland to head into Loch Buie, a wide sea loch with a lovely sandy beach a kilometre or so up at the end where they would camp.
However, as they rounded the headland, the change in direction meant that they briefly ended up side-on to the waves. Charlie caught a particularly high wave and suddenly found himself flipped upside down. Quickly he managed to pull himself out of his kayak and bobbed up at the side of his kayak, gratefully grabbing hold of it.
Sam was about to flash over to help the young man when Max stopped her.
"No, Sam! Let the guys sort him out, we're not supposed to give any help, unless they can't get him back in his boat," she explained.
Sam nodded in agreement, Max was right, she was just so used to helping other clients when she was out with them. This was different.
The two women watched from a distance, and again Sam was really impressed just how well the group worked. In no time at all, Charlie was scrambling back into his boat and fastening on his spray deck. It had taken less than three minutes, but they were ready to go again.
Max and Sam joined the guys just to find out that Charlie was OK. He nodded and smiled broadly, but then shivered, the water was cold, and he was in a wetsuit, he was cold and would get colder quickly.
Now they took off, no leisurely paddling this time, they needed to get ashore and get Charlie out of his wet stuff and into dry clothes as quickly as possible. It still took twenty minutes until they were beaching at the end on Loch Buie and pulling their kayaks up above the high-water mark.
Again, as Charlie stripped off his wetsuit and into some dry clothes, Amal, Robbie and Denis set about getting their tents erected and Mo had his Trangia set up and was heating some water to provide hot drinks.
Ten minutes later and the seven were sitting around drinking hot tea and munching on chocolate bars. It was enough to keep them going at that moment as they checked just how Charlie was feeling.
"I'm feelin' OK," he nodded, as he sipped his tea, "A bit cold still, but I'm warming up, I'll be fine in a bit."
Happy with that, the other four guys continued to get their camp set up and began to prepare a more substantial hot evening meal. Sam and Max set about getting their tents pitched and stuff organised before they all gathered together again and ate their meals.
The sat and chatted as they ate, the five young men willing to share a little of their lives with the older women. Max knew some of the details of them all, but not everything, and she too found some of the stories that Mo, Amal and Denis, the three refugees told a little unsettling.
Sam then spoke to the guys about their plans for the following day. Again, she was pleasantly surprised just how much they knew about the tides and currents, and they knew when they wanted to set off so they could take greatest advantage as they headed to the destination of their next overnight camp.
By about 9:30 the five guys were beginning to tire after their day paddling, so they headed off to their tents. With the five of them, they had organised things such that Denis and Robbie were sharing a tent, and Amal and Mo were sharing another, leaving Charlie in one on his own. He joked that he was happy with this as the others all snored, so he'd get a better night's sleep on his own.
Sam and Max retired as well, and in her tent, Sam got out her journal and began writing notes on the five guys, how they had preformed during the day, what she had observed, so she had plenty of notes when she came to write up their reports at the end.
It was about an hour later when she was getting ready to turn out the small battery-powered light she had when she heard retching outside her tent. Almost immediately she knew who it was and scrambling out of her tent in just her t-shirt and pants she found Charlie lying on the ground shivering with the cold. He had been affected by the cold more than he had thought or let on and hypothermia was almost beginning to set in.
Instinctively, Sam managed to get him back into his tent and into his sleeping bag. She knew she had to try and get him warmed up, and the best way to do that was through body heat. In the chaos of the moment Sam never thought to shout out to the others to give her help, and instead she climbed into Charlie's sleeping bag with him, spooning up behind him so he could gain some of her warmth.
Twenty minutes or so was all the time Sam thought it would take, then she could leave Charlie and go back to her own tent.
The next thing Sam could remember was an amazing electrical tingling sensation spreading from her breasts to her vagina. Subconsciously she moaned, she was turned on, but why, how?
Slowly as she began to come too a bit more, she began to realise that a hand was roughly squeezing her left breast and pinching her nipple, and not through the fabric of her t-shirt, but actually the flesh itself.
At the same time, she suddenly became aware of a thick rigid rod thrusting though between the gap at the top of her thighs, pressing hard against her panties, which she could feel were sodden wet, and her enflamed and engorged labia.
Suddenly, she remembered where she was and therefore what was happening to her. She had fallen asleep when spooning Charlie, but at some stage the pair of them must have rolled over so that Charlie was now spooning her. But what she felt between her thighs could not possibly belong to Charlie, it felt massive.
Charlie was by far the smallest of the five guys and looked about twelve years old. This was why the others had nicknamed him 'Chip' and when Sam asked about it earlier, whilst they had been eating their dinner, the others in the group made fun of him by wiggling their little finger. Max had even leant over and whispered under her breath to Sam that 'Chip' was supposed to be small in the cock department, which had made Sam blush.
With the sudden realisation of just what was happening and with whom, Sam had an explosive climax, as Charlie's cock rubbed along between her legs, and she began to momentarily thrash around before becoming all floppy and unmoving.
Grasping the opportunity, Charlie flipped Sam onto her back and before she could respond he was kneeling between her spread thighs. Suddenly realising that Charlie must also have opened up the zip on the sleeping bag, Sam gasped as the young man lifting her feet up onto his shoulders. Seconds later she moaned as he whipped off her soaking wet panties and for fun put them on his head.
Sam thought she knew what was coming next, and although she knew she shouldn't be doing this, her body was saying something else, and she looked down her body to where Charlie was kneeling between her thighs. But what she wasn't expecting was what Charlie did next. To her horror, Charlie took his hard cock in his hand and flopped it down onto her stomach grinning broadly.
"This is why they call me 'Chip'," he explained, as he grinned broadly at Sam.
Sam's eyes were on stalks, and her mouth fell open when she saw just how big his cock was, by far the biggest cock she had ever seen. Sam moaned in excitement as Charlie slid the bulbous head of his cock along her slit, splitting her labia and teasing her clitoris.
