Sentra -- Echo Team, Chapter 2 -- Hound

Night slicked the freight district in oil and neon. Rail spurs hissed under crawling trains, the air thick with rust, ozone... and something sweet.

Freya Arden -- Angel -- kept her bomber jacket close over a plain black vest, copper hair coiled high yet still catching the light. She walked point, scanning the shadows, but it was Theron Raskos -- Hound -- that had led them here. Every turn they'd taken, every side street they'd slipped through, had been on the pull of his scent trail. He followed it like a predator tracing wounded prey.

Beside her, he wore the bulk of a dockworker -- broad-shouldered, chest filling the navy overshirt rolled at the forearms. The cap sat low, shadowing the strong brow and stubbled jaw, but not the pale grey eyes fixed forward yetsearching, tracking invisible threads in the air with quiet, predatory focus.

Even in the sodium gloom, her magenta eyes caught stray light, sharp and restless. The faint, warm-sweet trace of her flame clung to her like an aura, stubborn against the yard's brine and diesel stink.

Arkene containers lined Platform 8, matte white with black chevrons. One sat apart -- its skin scuffed to bare alloy, chevrons faded under yellowed hazard tape. A scraped biohazard sigil showed beneath a freshly stamped metallic "M."

Angel smirked. "Subtle."

Hound inhaled, slow, head tilting slightly. "Burnt honey. Copper. It's bleeding out from that crate."

She caught it now -- metallic heat that clung to her tongue. Her shoulder brushed his; he stayed close. "You're sniffing like you've got more than cargo in mind."

"Not you," he said, then let his gaze flick her way. "You're gunpowder... and honey."

The line struck deeper than it should. They moved under the shadow of a passing forklift. Two Arkene stevedores murmured: "...M stamp... midnight pull... Section Black... scientist gone rogue--Myres."

She nudged his side;Got it, his jaw said. The sweet-metal scent thickened as they closed in.

"Rein it in."

"I am," he said, hands flexing, nails grazing palms. "But it's close."

She fought the flush that line left in her belly, eyes scanning the yard. Below, a lone guard paced. The marked crate sat apart, unwanted. Frost clung to one seam while the air above shimmered with heat, as if cold and warmth wrestled inside.

A wisp of fire coiled from her skin in the chill, a scented warmth that sharpened as her gaze narrowed, the magenta in her eyes brightening against the dark.

"You've seen something," Hound said quietly.

"I'm thinking about how someone's stealing from Arkene," she replied, a smile in her voice. "And not for charity."

He gave a small grunt. "Myseren."

Her grin widened. "Finally, something we agree on." She stepped closer, her breath brushing his cheek, testing his stillness. "Want me to pretend I was thinking about you instead?"

"That's not necessary," he said, gaze fixed ahead-- but his voice had roughened.

"Didn't say it was," she teased, eyes glittering. "But you might remember it later."

The guard's phone lit his face blue. Hound's head tilted toward the crate, pupils blown. "Do you feel that?"

She did -- heat in her spine, a low hum in her bones. Her jacket felt too tight; every inch of skin knew the air.

Condensation beaded along the crate's seam. The smart-tape's blink quickened. A low, guttural rasp leaked out -- wet, animal, and edged with hunger.

"Seal's failing," she whispered.

Hound's hand closed over her wrist, warm and steady.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

The seam split with a sharp pop. Cold vapour spilled into the yard, curling at the guard's boots before he could even raise his radio.

The crate's side buckled. Metal tore with a shriek, a panel spinning away into the dark.

The thing inside lunged free.

It hit the guard with a blur of plated muscle, jagged bone jutting like armour, claws hooked and wet. The mouth was wrong -- too wide, too wet, strings of copper-scented saliva hissing where they hit the ground.

Its hide was not fur nor scale but a mottled grey flesh, slick with steam. The texture shifted disturbingly with every breath, ridges and seams sliding as though the body was still deciding what shape to take. Broad shoulders and long limbs gave it strength, but there was something deeply androgynous in its frame: hips narrowing, chest flattening, then swelling again as though it could not decide which sex to mimic. Every motion carried a suggestion of change -- adaptive anatomy flexing beneath the surface, as if its flesh could sculpt itself depending on the prey before it.

Heat steamed from its body, carrying a musk that was not wholly animal. Short sensation-tendrils quivered along its sides, tasting the air. Its mouth opened wider than natural, a reactive tongue coiling out, ridged and velvet-slick, anticipating what it wanted to claim. For a heartbeat light pulsed under the grey hide, golden ripples moving like bioluminescence across its chest and hips before fading.

Hound vaulted the railing, landing heavy. Muscle surged under his shirt, seams straining. Heat rolled off him in waves, but beneath it... a thicker note. The musk. It hit the back of Angel's throat, warm and intrusive, sliding into her lungs like steam.

Her pulse jumped -- but training steadied her.

The beast turned toward him, bioluminescent seams pulsing faster as if it could read the thrum of his pulse. He met its charge head-on, claws digging deep -- but the sheer force behind it hurled him back, his breath rough, the musk leaking heavier as his control began to slip.

She dropped after him, pink psychic fire blooming from her palms in a blinding flare. The blaze cut the fog, painting the creature in molten rose.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Angel felt the weight of its focus land squarely on her. Not just a predator's hunger--but something hotter, stranger, a deliberatelustthat made her skin prickle. Even as she squared her stance, fire curling along her arms, she knew this was not just a beast to be slain. It was built toseduceas much as to kill.

It moved with a predator's deliberation, the heat-haze rising from its hide meeting her own flames in the air. It feinted one way, then came in low, short muscular tendrils uncoiling from under its plating, snapping toward her thigh. One wrapped high, velvet-soft pad pressing at the seam of her bodysuit in a slow, deliberate stroke that felt far too knowing.

She snarled, whipping the tendril away with a lash of fire, but the distraction let it close. Its tongue lashed out, ridged upper surface dragging across her jaw and neck. Heat sank deep into her skin -- and with it, the pinpoint surge of aphrodisiac saliva's targeted effect, a warm, rushing throb blooming low in her belly.

She shoved it back hard, petals of flame curling from her shoulders. It circled, bioluminescent ripples matching her pulse, each glow a silent, visual tug to keep her gaze fixed on its core.

Angel pressed her advantage -- rosefire sweeping in controlled arcs, searing the plating at its joints. It hissed and reeled, but the tendrils kept snaking for her, testing her hip, her waist, her wrist. She burned them back, the scent of scorched musk thickening in the yard.

At the wall, she drove a fan of fire point-blank into the creature's chest. Armour blistered. Heat bled out in waves. But it lunged again, slower now yet still coiled with dangerous intent. One tendril caught her wrist before she could deliver the final blow, its mouth opening as if to draw her in again.

She tore free, but her arms trembled from the energy drain -- and the creeping heat the saliva had left in her blood.

A low snarl pulled her gaze. Hound was rising.

He ripped what was left of his shirt off as his body bulked further, shoulders and chest thickening, neck corded. His face shifted, jaw pushing forward, teeth lengthening into wolfish canines. Coarse, dark fur spread across his chest, shoulders, and down his arms in a rapid wave, the thick pelt bristling with each breath. The musk pouring from him hit like a wall -- hotter, sharper, flooding the yard until every breath tasted of him.

And below the torn lines of his pants, a new shape pushed forward -- massive, thick, flushed with heat, the blunt head wet and heavy. The sight made something low in her tighten, quick and uninvited.

He didn't look at her. His eyes locked on the creature, now snarling back at him. Angel broke contact with the creature, letting him have the opening.

A shadow slammed past her flank -- Hound in full beast form, claws tearing into the charred seam she'd opened. The monster's head snapped toward him, but nowhismusk flooded the yard, cutting through its rhythm. Tendrils flailed, the golden glow faltered, and his jaws locked on its neck. One brutal wrench dropped it in a heap.

Angel let her flames die, breath ragged, heat rolling from her skin. Her gaze met his -- and the musk hit harder than ever, thick with something new. He was still hard, still clutching and looming over the carcass, and every instinct told her he wasn't finished hunting.

"Hound," she said carefully.

He turned his head toward her, slow and deliberate, eyes all black core and thin pale rim.

"You need to stand down."

He dropped the creature.

And closed the space between them in a single stride.

Her back struck the container wall. One clawed hand slammed beside her head, denting steel; the other hovered at her hip, heat and scent pouring from him in suffocating waves.

Far-off klaxons wailed. Here, there was only his breath at her cheek, the rasp dragging over her skin.

"Tunnel," he said, voice deep enough to vibrate in her bones.

Her mouth was dry. She didn't know if she was about to run... or follow.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

The tunnel swallowed the yard's noise, leaving only breath, drip, heat. Steel walls sweated; the air was stale and close. Hound moved her deeper, his steps slowing, like he was outpacing something inside himself.

Angel's palm met his chest -- fur now under the jacket, coarse and hot. His heart thudded hard. "Breathe."

He stopped. Claws met steel beside her head, dimpling it. The other hand hovered at her hip but didn't touch. Close enough for heat. Close enough for temptation. He bowed his head, jaw clenched so hard she heard teeth grind. The fur along his shoulders bristled, then smoothed. He was holding a line that wanted to erase itself.

"Not like this," she said, voice low, steady as she could make it.

A long breath dragged through him. His nostrils flared -- her perfume a faint ghost under the reek of fight -- and then the other smell rose, inexorable: musk. It didn't drift; it poured, denser with each breath he took, until the tunnel's stillness kept it. It was him -- sweat, salt, the dark warmth steeping from the meat of him -- and it began to saturate the air, a humid tide that clung to tongue and lungs.

"You're... filling the tunnel," she managed, throat tight. "Your scent."

The stale air seemed to hold it for him -- steel sweating under the heat, the space becoming a low, vibrating vessel for everything he gave off. Even the grate underfoot seemed to hum with the slow, heavy throb of his body looming over her.

His eyes flicked shut as if in pain. He turned his face aside, forcing a step back. Another. He braced his knuckles into the wall, claws sheathing with audible restraint. For a heartbeat she thought he'd beaten it; the heat eased, the drift of musk thinned.

Then a tremor took him. The primal hunger coiled tight in his chest. The fur along his spine lifted again, a slow hackle. His breath quickened, steam ghosting his lips. He looked at her like she was the only water in a desert.

"No," she said, sharper. She shoved his chest. He let the push move him. "No."

The tunnel listened to their breathing. The musk kept building anyway -- from him, from the heavy thatch at his groin, from the slick crown nudging the torn fly of his ruined trousers. It crawled over her skin and found every nerve that remembered heat.

She turned her head, breaking the line of his gaze. "We walk," she said, and stepped.

He moved faster.

A forearm barred her path, not slamming, placing. He set her back to the wall again, breath coming hard through bared teeth. He held himself off her with the geometry of his own restraint: claws in steel, elbows locked, hips angled away as if he didn't trust what would happen if he let them meet. The effort shook him.

"Let me go." She pushed again. He yielded an inch -- and groaned, hunger and denial braided too tight to separate. His hips slipped closer, heat branding her thigh.

Do not. She set fire in her palm -- pink heat blooming between them -- and he flinched from it as if from memory, forehead hitting the wall with a dull clang. The flinch was human. The sound he made after wasn't. His hand slid from the wall, caught her shoulder, didn't squeeze -- pushed.

Her knees hit steel grate. The position shocked a gasp from her -- and a punishing wave of scent. Down here, the tunnel seemed to trap it, heat and musk pooling low where his body made it. Every breath she took tasted of him -- humid, salt-rich, threaded with the darker, almost sweet tang weeping from the slit at the crown of his massive shaft.

A hot bead dropped to her cheek. It stung, then melted, then sank.

"Hound," she warned, even as her pulse kicked like hooves.

He turned her face with the flat of his fingers, careful of claws. A gentle insistence: look. The shaft jutted close -- huge, dark-veined, the head flushed and wet, steam rising off it in the close air. The pelt at his base shone with sweat. Another thread of fluid beaded, swelled, broke, and painted a glistening line across her cheekbone. The smell there was concentrated him -- rut and salt and a metallic shadow from the fight -- and it folded something inside her like paper.

She tried to stand. He pressed her crown, not cruelly -- enough. Her palms skated on damp grate; she caught herself, breath shuddering. She could scorch him raw, she told herself. Burn the scent right off his skin. She flexed heat -- and then the next drop slid from his slit and kissed the corner of her mouth.

It wasn't a flavour she'd ever call pleasant. It was necessary. It was a door she'd been holding with her shoulders. It swung.

She licked. A quick, disbelieving flick of tongue over the droplet clinging to her lip. Hot. Animal. Him. It spiked through her like lightning through copper wire. Her thighs pressed together; wetness bloomed.

He swore, a strangled rasp, when she leaned in. Her tongue traced the damp seam where shaft met fur, collecting the musk where it bloomed thickest. Her hands went to his hips to push him away -- and then didn't. They stayed, nails shallow in pelt, holding him close. Another bead gathered on the head; she caught it with her mouth, greedy, the way a parched tongue catches rain.

He tried to step back. She followed, shoulders against his thighs, cheeks streaked, breath coming in hungry little pulls she didn't recognise as hers. He looked down, drinking in the sight of her on her knees, choosing him. The man flickered; his instincts ached to take her.

She opened her mouth and took him. The blunt crown stretched her lips; her jaw ached and then welcomed the ache. She worked him in slow, claiming passes, tongue flattening, then circling, then stroking the underside where he shivered hardest. Her hand cupped the heat-heavy sac, thumb rubbing the damp seam she'd kissed raw. The musk was everywhere now -- mouth, nose, skin -- and with each breath she slid further, instinct unlacing neat coils of will with patient teeth.

Her magenta eyes -- once bright and commanding, rosefire scent blooming hot around her when she'd taken Kestrel -- now seemed hazed, the glow dulled and the perfume faded to a faint trace beneath the thick wash of his musk. She looked up with the reflex of prey that had chosen its predator, then closed her eyes to sink into the moment.

A growl rolled through him, warning or worship, she couldn't tell. He thrust -- an inch -- and she nodded, permission given in a hum that vibrated along his length. The rhythm found them: shallow, deep, withdraw, taste, swallow, breathe. When he pushed too far, she pressed his thigh; when she wanted more, she took it, dragging him against the slick heat of her throat until his knees locked. Fluid welled; she drank it like she'd never be allowed again.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Her sex burned. She rocked unconsciously, grinding the ache against nothing, whining low in her chest at how empty she felt. The need surprised her with its doggedness; it wanted hips, weight, rut. It wanted him.

He sensed it. Or smelled it. Or both. He tore himself free with a curse, slick leaving her mouth in a wet, obscene sound that snapped her eyes open. He turned her, palms on her waist with a care that made her dizzy, and bent her over the ribbed bulk of a valve housing. The steel was cold under her belly; her breath fogged and ran.

He wrenched her knickers aside, not bothering with delicacy, the soaked scrap clinging before peeling away with a sticky sound. Her thighs were slick, her juices already leaking in copious trails down her skin. It clung in the close air, the raw scent of her arousal mixing with his rut-thick musk until the steel walls themselves seemed steeped in it.

The night's air licked the flushed cleft of her cunt -- and his head lowered.

"Don't--" she began, but the protest melted into a breathy gasp.

He inhaled deeply, a long, slow drag of air through flared nostrils, the hyper-sensitive beast's nose savouring her every note -- the sharp-sweet perfume of rosefire now drowned under the raw, wet scent of her arousal. His tongue followed, one slow, unhurried stroke from the base of her folds to the hood of her clit. The touch pulled a full-body shiver from her, and the groan that followed was thick, helpless, and nothing she'd ever given him before.

The woman who had met him with bright eyes and teasing lips was gone; her beauty now flushed, parted-mouthed, her gaze glazed with the feral need his body had dragged from her. Strands of dark hair clung to her sweat-slick temples. Tiny sparks of pink flame bled from her shoulders and hips in erratic pulses, her power leaking uncontrolled into the air as if her body no longer remembered to contain it.

She hissed, breath catching, and instinctively pushed back, searching for him.

The blunt head found her entrance and pressed. Not slow, not brutal -- inevitable. She opened around him, the wet heat of her core stretching near to its limit, forced wider than any mere human could reach.

"You're... too big--" she moaned, the word trembling.

"Take it all," he growled, low and final.

He drove his beast-hard length deeper, each inch heavier and hotter than the last, unyielding as it forced her open. Finally she felt the blunt flare of his crown press against her last barrier, his pulse throbbing deep inside her. Her hips bowed under his weight as she felt filled, branded from within -- heat, muscle, and the pounding cadence of his heart -- until the strain broke in a breathless cry and molten pleasure swept through her, leaving her trembling.

He held. The restraint was a roar in his shoulders. Then he moved.

Long, dragging strokes that mapped her. Thrusts that grew, testing, then taking. He would drive deep, then hold, forcing her to feel every beat of his cock inside her before dragging back through slick, gripping heat. The pauses were worse than the pounding -- each one leaving her clutching at him, the emptiness almost as fierce as the stretch.

She met him, hips learning his cadence, then dictating hers. He followed like a storm obeying a coastline.

"Harder," she breathed, the plea slipping out before she could stop it.
