Previously: Elijah and Teagan attended church. During the sermon she pleasured him with her hand, mortifying him at the prospect of getting caught. Upon returning home he punished her with a spanking and a hard fucking that left both relieved and satisfied. Teagan asked she could could stay with him instead of going back to college, and a conflicted Elijah promised to give her an answer in a few days time.
***
WoooooOOOOooooOOOooo
The siren cut through the sky, barely audible over the wind and rain raging outside.Take cover,it screamed its mechanical scream, shrill and sharp. The world is ending.Elijah hated it almost as much as the storm itself.
Teagan was staring out the window alongside him, fingers fidgeting within themselves as she watched the trees around Maplewood whip and churn. They had been observing the storm for some time with a mixture of curiosity and fear, pacing about the house, stopping periodically to scour their phones for weather updates, hoping that the worse wouldn't come to pass. The siren had dashed those hopes away.
"It'll be okay," Elijah assured Teagan as they hunkered down into the bathtub in the first-floor bathroom. She was holding Storm was tight as she could; the kitten had no concept of what was happening, and was struggling to escape.
It was times like this that Elijah wished Mike and Lindsay had bought a house with a basement. He cursed it then, as he had in the past, in the times he was unlucky enough to be over when a severe storm broke out.Two stories, no basement, trees on all sides. This house is destined to be destroyed. Now was no different, and yet it was.Now Mike and Lindsay were gone, and Teagan was his to protect, his to be strong for, his to tell not to be scared even when he was scared himself.
Mike was a protector, remembered Elijah. He had always made it look so easy, treating storms so casually he wouldn't know of their existence until it was already upon them, and even then, he'd stand outside and watch, almost as if he were asking to be taken away.Take me instead,he'd challenged.Leave my girls alone and take me.Elijah was never so bold. He was always the first to take shelter, the one who refreshed weather apps all day long in morbid anticipation. He was only being prepared, he always told himself, but there was something to be said about his old friend's audacity to meet mother nature's wrath with open-armed indifference.
The wind outside grew louder, and the house started shaking. A hum could be heard electric in the air. It's coming."
I'm scared," Teagan confessed, her voice quivering and childlike. Elijah pulled her in closer and held her tight, as tight as he could. "It'll be okay," he assured her again, hoping he wasn't lying. He closed his eyes. "Just hold onto me. I've got you..."
The day had started out so promising. Teagan insisted on welcoming it with a morning swing, and Elijah was in no position to deny her. And so the girl sat while he pushed, both laughing, both enjoying the mild kiss of the wind on their skin and the warmth of the sun's rays peaking between the leafy branches of the large maple tree looming above. Many times Teagan jumped at the height of her ascent, and every time Elijah watched in awe as she landed in perfect form, her small body barely registering its impact with the ground. She's made for this,he thought. She's meant to run and jump and tumble and flip.
The fourth jump revealed she wasn't wearing any panties. Gravity and a perfectly timed breeze lifted her yellow sundress up, just long enough for him to see two tight little white butt cheeks wink at him.Come closer, they beckoned, and he did, so fast that he caught her unawares when he scooped her up. Teagan squealed in surprise delight, giggled as he ran around the yard, moving with no particular purpose or destination in mind. He just wanted to hold the young woman, to move his body with hers in his arms, to feel her breath hit his neck with every step.Like we used to.He would have liked to keep moving even longer, but even as light as she was, the ache of age eventually caught up with him.
"That's enough," said Elijah, letting her slide down his arms once more.
"No," was all Teagan said before leaping back up, causing them to tumble to the ground together.
"Jesus girl, I could've broken a hip." Elijah was only half mad, and the smile and girlish giggle that answered back to him quickly melted it away. "I'm no spring chicken you know."
"Could've fooled me." Teagan ran a hand across his stomach and under his shirt and started fumbling with his belt.
"What are you doing?"
"At this point you ought to know."
"Right here? People might see..."
"I don't care." She drew his manhood out and leaned down and licked, as eagerly as a child would a popsicle on a hot summer day. "What are they going to do, arrest us?"
"Well, public indecency is a thing--"
"This isn't public," she declared with boldness in her voice. "This is my backyard.Ours." She danced her tongue around his cock, making him hard. "Besides, today could be our last. Let them look."
It had been all over the local news and social media. If you thought the storm a few days ago was bad, you haven't seen anything yet,one weatherman had said. This could be the worst one in decades, said another.Lightning, large hail, wind gusts, flash flooding, and tornadoes are all in play. Please, have a plan in place.
They did; Elijah had made sure of it. "The first-floor bathroom is the safest place in the house," he had told her. "If we get a tornado, that is where we'll shelter." Still, he was anxious. Or at least he had been, before the sight of Teagan's cute little mouth licking and sucking him sucked it all away. He loved how big he looked in her, how he filled her throat and made her cheeks bulge every time he entered her.
Teagan crawled up, and with a deft hand, aligned his cock with her cunt before sitting herself upon it.She's getting good at this,Elijah thought as he watched her ride him. Her hands sat heavy on his chest, pressing him further into the uncut grass with each long, slow thrust.
"Ooh...mmm..." she moaned quietly, with closed eyes and half-curved lips. The young woman looked as though she were someplace else, someplace warm and perfect. Elijah slid his hands under her sundress, his palms riding along to the contours of her hard body. Erect nipples greeted his fingers when they landed on her breasts. He stopped to pinch and twist them, turning her low moans into sharp cries.
"Ohh fuck!" Teagan arched up then fell down, granting Elijah access to her eyes. They were open now, almondy and sweet and glassy with hidden grief that needed releasing.Use me, he told her with a kiss.Take whatever you need.He withdrew his hands and lay still, bearing witness as the girl stabbed herself with him, over and over, each thrust chipping away bit by bit at the walls of her heart, until finally there was only flesh and blood, and when he pierced it she roared and shook and bucked. It was the saddest orgasm Elijah had ever seen. Tears leaked out her eyes to splatter on his face, while her hips quivered in desperation, attempting to draw him deeper, but it was impossible. There was no going deeper. He was as deep inside her as he could ever be.
"Thank you," Teagan whispered when she was done, cradling his head and nuzzling his nose with hers.
Elijah kissed her, and with a few quick thrusts quietly gave her the gift of his seed. There wasn't much; the girl's unquenchable thirst in recent days had left him little time to recover. Still, she shivered and moaned with each small splash in her womb, and he loved her for it.
They lay in the grass for some time, Elijah stroking Teagan's hair as she sat nooked within his arms. The branches of the maple above rustled to the breeze, leaves rubbing against leaves. It was a peaceful sound, lulling him into an open-eyed slumber.
"This place is special," said Teagan.
"Yeah." Elijah raked his fingers up and down her arm, savoring the softness of her skin.
"But it won't last forever."
"No."
"I wish it did. Why can't things last forever?"
"I don't know Teags. No one does. All we know is that they don't. All things die."
The girl reached a hand up to the sky. "Even the sun..."
"Yes." Elijah gripped her chin with thumb and forefinger and forced her eyes to meet his. "You're too young to be worrying about such things."
"That's something only old people say," she replied, sounding annoyed. She turned away, sat up, and pulled her knees to her chest.
Idiot. Death is on her mind, and for good reason. He rested an apologetic hand on Teagan's back. "I'm sorry. That was a stupid thing to say..."
"It's okay. I know you meant well."
"It's just...for a moment...I forgot--"
"That mom and dad are dead."
"Yes..."
It hurt to admit, but it was true. While just a few days ago his grief had been an open wound, fresh and bleeding, it had since been sutured closed by the short, pleasant life he had been living with Teagan in that house on Maplewood Lane. It felt almost like a dream, their own little universe outside of time. Each day he thought of his old friends a little less, and more than anything it was the quickness of the healing that left him feeling guilty. Mike and Lindsay had been his family, his world. They deserved more than just a few days of darkness to mark their passing.
"Sometimes I do too." Teagan lowered her face into her hands. "I shouldn't be feeling any happiness," she sobbed. "Not yet. It's too soon."
"I know exactly how you feel." Elijah sat up and began rubbing her back. "But they would want you to be happy. As much and as often as possible."
"I'm happy when I'm with you," she said, rubbing her eyes. "Which means, by your logic, they'd want us to be together."
"That's just wishful thinking Teags. We don't know what they'd want as far as us goes."Though I have an idea...
"Yeah..." She sniffled and looked up at him. "You don't sound quite as torn up as you did a few days ago."
"We made our choice. What's done is done. I've made peace with it."
"That's very mature of you."
"I have my moments." He rubbed a thumb along her bottom lip and kissed it. "It helps when you're happy."
Teagan smiled. "So still no regrets?"
"No."
"Me neither." Teagan turned away to look at the maple, her eyes following its thick trunk up to the branches reaching out over their heads. She stood up and adjusted her sundress before sprinting over to it. "Uncle, can you do me favor and run inside and get me something sharp? I have an idea."
"Sure." Elijah walked around the house to the garage, where he rummaged around until he found one of Mike's many pocket knives. He gave the blade a quick inspection.Slightly rusted, but it'll do.He returned to find Teagan leaning against the maple, her hand resting on the trunk, fingers picking away at the bark. "Here."
"Thank you." She unfolded the knife and began carving at the bark.
"Careful not to cut yourself."
"Yeah yeah..."
Elijah watched as Teagan labored, her eyes squinting and tongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth while she chipped and chiseled. The maple was an old thing, its bark giving way with little resistance. It wasn't long before he could begin making out letters where the blade had been.
"There," Teagan said when she was finished. She stepped back, pride and satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.
Elijah couldn't help but smile when he saw what the young woman had written. Even with a rusty old knife, her penmanship was quite impressive, clean and concise and elegant.
ONE DAY AT A TIME.
He slid in beside Teagan and wrapped an approving arm around her tiny waist and held her close. "Simple words to live by."
"Wise words from a wise man."
Elijah couldn't help but laugh.I haven't felt wise a day in my life. Especially now."I appreciate you saying that kiddo, but--"
"Stop. Just take the damn compliment doofus."
"Fine."
They stared at it for a long moment. While Elijah had repeated the sentiment often lately, both to Teagan and himself, something about seeing the words manifest into reality made them resonate for the first time. What does it actually mean?He stepped forward and closed his eyes, tracing the carvings with his fingers, reading the letters with his touch like a blind person reads braille. It means living in the present. It means not dwelling on the past, nor obsessing over the future. It means what's done is done, and what lies ahead cannot be known, so why bother worrying at it? It means all things die...
When Elijah finally opened his eyes, the lights had gone out. In the darkness, the walls around them rattled. Outside, what sounded like a train could be heard barreling toward them, growing louder with each passing second.I don't want to die.Suddenly all the internalizing, all the reconciling with his mortality earlier that day in front of that old maple, had evaporated, leaving only ancient, primal fear.
Elijah hugged Teagan tighter and closed his eyes again, clinging to her like a piece of plank adrift in the black ocean of his existential dread. By now Storm had wriggled out of her arms and was cowering beneath her. Both were crying. "Hold on!" he screamed, just as the monster passed above.
Maybe this is our punishment, wondered Elijah. He thought back to what he'd told Teagan a few days ago, when she'd asked him where he thought Mike and Lindsay had gone after they died.Maybe they're here now. For all we know they could be reaching out of the earth at this very moment, to tear us apart for our sins.
The air around them popped, then shifted upward, and it felt as though all the oxygen in Elijah's lungs was being sucked out from his throat. Teagan was screaming.Don't hurt her,he pleaded silently.I know I betrayed you. It's not her fault. Let us live, and I'll let her go. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...
"Sorry for what?" he heard Teagan whisper back, and it was only then that Elijah realized that the house had gone quiet. For a moment he wasn't sure if he was alive or dead. How long have we been sitting here?He opened his eyes, and found hers staring back at him, so close that even cloaked in darkness he saw how red and wet they were. He reached out and wiped one of her tears away with his thumb.
"Are you okay?" he asked, ignoring her question.
She nodded. "Is it over?"
"I'm not sure." Elijah reached down and picked up Storm. The kitten was shivering. "Don't be scared little one. We've got you...." He handed her over to Teagan and they waited a moment, expecting the monster to return. Instead, there was only more silence.
"I'm going to check to see if the coast is clear," said Elijah. "Wait here."
"Okay. Be careful."
Outside the bathroom, more darkness greeted him, so black he couldn't see his hand in front of his face. He pulled out his phone, turned its flashlight on, and proceeded cautiously into the living room. More waiting. More silence. He looked out the window. The rain, once so thick it had been waterfalling over the glass, was now reduced to a mere trickle. In the dark of night, he could make out the faint shapes of branches of all sizes littering the front lawn, along with the silhouettes of the unlucky trees that had been uprooted entirely.
It's a mess, but we survived."I think it's safe to come out now!"
Elijah heard the soft pitter-patter of Teagan's footsteps approach from behind. She stopped beside him, Storm huddled in her arms, purring to her comforting strokes as they stood sentry together once more.
"Oh my god." Teagan peered through the window, leaning left, then right. "The trees...the yard is ruined..."
"Tornadoes will do that," said Elijah. "It's too dark to assess the damage now. We'll have to wait until morning."
Teagan nodded and turned back to face him, opening her arms to let Storm leap away before stepping forward and wrapping them around his waist.
"Are you okay?" asked Elijah again.
"Yeah," he heard her whisper back, and suddenly he felt her lips on his, hungry and heavy, pushing him back within the darkness until he was falling. The couch caught him, and before he could respond he felt Teagan on top of him. She batted the phone out of his hand and lifted his shirt up and kissed her way down his chest as she began unbuckling his pants.
"Teags..." he tried saying, but his words were cut short by every touch of her lips to his skin. While he welcomed her sudden fervor, the nature and timing of it concerned him. And there was the promise.I said if we survived I'd let her go, but here we are, not minutes later, breaking it.Shame encircled his mind, all while the young woman's mouth encircled his manhood. By then the rain had stopped, leaving only the sounds of Elijah's whimpers of protest, and Teagan's gurgles and gasps as she licked and sucked him. She held him, long and deep, letting him expand and fill her throat until tears were leaking out of her eyes and she couldn't hold him any longer.
"You like that baby?" she said when she finally came gasping up for air. She stroked him with her hand, using her spit to glide up and down his length with ease.
"Yes..." Elijah managed to sputter out. "But...Teags...we can't...stop--"
"Noyoustop." Her voice was trembling. "I don't care what you have to say. We're survivors. We're alive. Just let me feel this. I need to.Please."
That's exactly why we have to stop,he thought. We we're given the gift of mercy, and we're throwing it away.By then Elijah's eyes had adjusted fully, allowing him to make out the small hourglass silhouette of Teagan's body within the darkness. It's every line called to him, convincing him that his thinking was absurd, that he was acting like a foolish old man with foolish superstitions. It was just a tornado,it countered. She's right. You're alive, and so is she. Be alive with her. Now. Remember the tree. One day at a time. Remember...
Elijah did, and he reached out and cupped her face and brought her up to him. Her body slackened and fell over his like a blanket, one too small to cover him entirely but warm enough that it made no matter. His hand slipped itself under her dress and found the firm flesh of her breast and squeezed. "Yes, Uncle," moaned Teagan in approval. "That's it..."
She sat up and pulled her sundress up and off, the same one they'd started that perfect day with, tossing it aside before bringing her lips back to his. Through his shirt he felt her nipples poking him, stiff and long and hard. Elijah danced his fingers up and down her naked back, making her tremble. The scent of their combined desire hit the silent dark air around them. Teagan leaned an arm back and searched for Elijah's cock in the dark, and when she found it she held it firm and steady and lowered her hips down, stopping just before slipping him inside. She held herself there, hovering over him, running his dripping tip over and across her wet lips, teasing them both.
"Do you feel that Uncle?" she whispered in his ear, her hot breath hitting his eardrum. "The want. The ache. The calm before the storm..."
"I do."
Teagan lowered herself, only just enough to swallow the head of his cock, leaving the rest in aching stasis. They both shivered. "Relish in it with me."
