Starchaser Ch. 08: Clan Family

This is an original series story and the eighth chapter, based on an original roleplay that should not be considered a quick read. This might be the longest chapter yet!

Context makes reading all chapters in sequence essential to understand the story from its first sentence. Here is the link for chapter 01 to enable reading this continuing story from the first paragraph: https://www.literotica.com/s/starchaser-ch-01

Original roleplay voicing is incorporated into an overlapping storyline. The appearance of duplication is due to the story being told by two individuals from their own perspective, and it includes a narrator. Overlaps create the fabric of the story and each contains new information so a choice to skip ahead will cause a loss of context.

Quoted words in character dialog are not verbatim to allow for variability of memory in the first person.

Please take time and read from each character's point of view to hear and understand the characters better through them telling their own story.

NOTE 1 - These symbols demarks a voice change for the next part of the story:

= N = :: narrator in present or past tense for reference

o/o :: male character

-v- :: female character

NOTE 2 - Quote formatting of "words" and 'words':

"quotes" :: spoken words using audible voice

'quotes' :: spoken words as thoughts using Neural Communicator Implant

NOTE 3 - Square brackets where they appear:

[ ] :: ship's voice communication either neural or audible as written

The Starchaser story takes us where our human abilities are yet to go to join in the busy galaxy around us. It informs us of what is out there and what is really going on that most have yet to discover. See how your view of what we are really here for compares to that of the Avalonian Combine and decide for yourself which you prefer.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - read all chapters in sequence as each chapter builds on every previous chapter.

[ Starchaser Chapter 8 ]

o/o

The Starchaser +A shuttle was inbound to Earth and arriving unseen and unheard with all its systems operational. Light bent around its hull and energies of heat and sound were absorbed to recharge internal energy banks. I felt Noel monitoring my mind's eye view as part of her apprentice partner Captain role, it was her desire to be my "creative and audacious equal" and it was something I trusted she would become.

I said to her parents Adam and Emma, "Everything that happens from this moment on is normal for Noel and me. It has been the only way of life I have known and for Noel it has been her way of life since she chose to join me on my ship."

"You will be together closer than you ever believed you could be as a couple and you will discover you can be more than you ever thought possible. Trust what you see with your eyes because everything will be real, even as unreal as it might seem for people who lived their lives on a planet like Earth. We are going that way," I pointed upward,"and if anything causes you worry, just close your eyes and trust what you feel."

I watched in my mind's eye the external shuttle view as it made a rapid descent to our location in the Isles of Scilly. Noel checked with my mind's eye view again as the shuttle slowed to pass through the rain clouds overhead and came down quickly to hover just outside the back door. It was private there where no one else could observe the space. The shuttle was motionless, suspended, silent and invisible.

Noel looked at me, "It's time for us to go to our ship." She then looked at her parents and said, "This is really happening mom and dad and it's the best way for you to start your Honeymoon!"

Emma looked suddenly startled and said to Adam, "We haven't packed anything."

Adam held onto her, "I think Barrett and Noel will take good care of us."

We nodded and I said, "Our shuttle craft is just outside that door. Noel has made arrangements for everything in your house to be available to you so you will have everything you need." I could see concerned looks but they were quickly followed by trusting smiles and nods.

Noel opened the back door to the pool deck and the usual view was still visible in the growing dusk. Rain had increased that made it darker and more difficult to see, but the Short Range Shuttle had an Equinox Flyer sized rain shadow under it. Only that patch on the deck was not being pelted by the downpour.

I saw Emma and Adam look outside past Noel no doubt wondering what was supposed to be there. Noel said, "Follow me!" She reached for and took Emma's hand. As she turned to step out the door, the back doors of the shuttle snapped open to reveal the red plush interior of a room that had not appeared to be there before.

A bright room without a visible exterior appeared at arms reach just tall enough to walk into. Its interior appearance, a spacious aircraft cockpit with extra seating, extended out as a pocket in space that should not be there. Noel stepped directly into the shuttle pulling Emma's had saying, "come on you two!"

Adam looked at me while Emma was focused on their daughter. Emma trusted Noel the way a mother follows an eager child and stepped across the threshold. Emma's hand pulled on Adam's hand and he followed her into shuttle, joining his wife and daughter.

Noel let go of Emma's hand and went back to the open doors where she touched a small shoulder height locker door that opened. She reached in and took out a metallic liter size rounded corner cube and tossed it to me.

I caught the cube and took it to the approximate center of the house's ground floor and set it on a narrow console table in the entry hallway by the staircase to the upstairs. Starchaser on SPL-BN acknowledged, [sensor node active].

I had a last look around and returned to the open house door taking the key off its hook by the entryway mirror. I could see Noel and her parents inside Starchaser +A's red interior looking around and getting settled. All around that bright portrait view was growing dark as the house's interior was already in gloom.

The sound of heavy rain increased to become intense. I acknowledged the comfort of knowing no science on Earth would recognize a down burst of precipitation as having connection to a cloaked ship having passed through rain clouds. I pulled the house door closed and locked it before I stepped into my shuttle to feel the atmosphere calm the instant the aft doors shut closed behind me.

Noel was focused on getting Emma and Adam organized, she gestured to the side benches along the curved walls. "Mom, you and dad have these seats here. There's room for eight and you can sit anywhere. Barrett and I go up front in the pilot seats."

The red plush interior was silent belying the energy all around us. We moved to the formed front seats that immediately slid together and merged to form a partner seat that wrapped around us as we sat side by side the way we always did.

The view screen on the front wall expanded from looking like a wrapped rectangular package with rounded corners to appear as a wide angle projection screen. I set the view parameters to encompass a 270 degree circular viewing field centered on straight forward.

The screen appeared to dissolve along with the whole front of the shuttle that appeared to no longer exist. Every interior surface that had looked like the inside of a luxury spacecraft had vanished from midway along the side bench seats to the front including from overhead to underfoot.

The outdoors was around us everywhere except from midway along the side bench seats to the back doors. Interior lighting was dimmed to a soft glow on what few surfaces were not obscured by the view screen and provided the only visual evidence we were still inside SRS Equinox Flyer Starchaser +A.

Noel told her parents this was normal operation for an Avalonian shuttle and the views were always great. The things our guests said behind us confirmed how strange it was to be so dry when it appeared there was nothing to stop the weather getting at us.

It was actually one of the few times I had flown Starchaser +A in a heavy rainstorm and it was indeed strange to appear outside in the maelstrom yet remain perfectly dry in a calm pocket while all around us was enveloped by a gusting heavy downpour.

I used the same technique I had done for Noel's first departure from Earth because I thought it gave a great perspective for leaving a planet. Starchaser +A lifted just high enough to pivot upward and point directly away from the surface.

We remained there for a moment to take in the scene. The outside view had shifted 90 degrees with the rain coming directly at the front and the ground was behind us.

Noel laughed at her parent's reaction to the view change from horizontal to vertical without any sensation of a weight shift in any direction. Their view was tipped with a complete view outside their house over their heads and the pool deck now behind the back door of the shuttle.

The deck and pool was under their seat and beneath their feet. Noel reminded them, "As Barrett said, if something looks scary, just close your eyes and trust what you feel."

Emma closed her eyes and smiled, "So nothing really happened."

Adam closed his eyes and also smiled, "But they said it is real so I'm guessing the shuttle has some kind of inside gravity control."

Everyone had an unobstructed view of the neighborhood, the weather, and the Atlantic Ocean from the shore to where it disappeared in the growing darkness. A flash of lightning across the clouds streaked from above us to the ground not far away.

I was amazed nobody reacted to the lightning but perhaps it was because it was just a lightning flash without sound or pressure wave that was absorbed by surface shielding of the SRS. I thought commanded, 'Launch.'

Only the view changed as the ground zoomed away behind us. Noel cheered like she was on the first plunge down a steep roller coaster's first hill or a slingshot ride release flight, entirely for her parent's benefit.

We went through the dark clouds in a second and broke out into clear late evening sky, above the clouds that rapidly fell away behind us. The atmosphere thinned in an instant and Earth receded completely from view.

We had passed through a sizable gap between things orbiting Earth and quickly left the Moon behind that we also passed at a good distance. Acceleration took us past light speed for a moment then slowed to approach our Twin Ship Starchase at Lagrange Point L1.

The Sun was in opposition of the ESA/NASA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), and our presence was unobserved from Earth monitors. The inverted hulls of Starchaser and Starchasen were a distance away from SOHO and appeared to be mirror images of the same ship, like two halves of a cookie without a filling.

They were stationary in a landing pads together configuration that extended just enough to allow Starchaser +A to slip between the hulls. It looked like a tight squeeze before we went up into Starchaser's open shuttle bay.

The entrance shielding closed as the shuttle moved into Starchaser's hangar deck and rotated to settle into its parking position in the shuttle bay. We were home again.

Noel and I exchanged knowing glances as our first thoughts whenever we arrived by SRS were of our first arrival to Starchaser. It was exactly where we were, also in Starchaser +A that we had our first sexual experience.

We were always in a low grade horny mood together; usually thinking memories, sharing our perspectives, and enjoying comparisons of how they were similar and different. It always led to thoughts about our next opportunity and oftentimes just continued as daydreaming sex together.

The forward viewing screen deactivated to reappear as a wrapped package again, mounted on the forward bulkhead. The interior was revealed exactly as it had been when everyone stepped inside moments ago in Little Porth.

Interior lighting increased bright enough to see inside the shuttle well and the red plush interior looked like it was never used, ready for the next adventure as systems powered down. The back doors opened to reveal the portal entrance that led directly to the shuttle bay crew lounge.

We kissed and looked over our shoulders hearing kissing from the backseat. Adam and Emma were having a good snog in the moment apparently unaware of their surroundings or the sounds they were making. Noel reminded me they had been intimate on their first date at the school dance and she thought it was wonderful to see them relaxed enough to be able to kiss and be intimate in the moment too.

We stood and the molded partner bench we had been sitting on disappeared back to separate front seats that permitted us to walk between them aft. Adam and Emma parted their kiss still in each other's arms before they noticed us standing.

They looked around wide eyed but said nothing at first taking everything in. I said to our honeymoon guests, "We are now aboard our ship, closer to Venus than to Earth."

Adam relaxed and said, "You were telling us truth when you said, beyond the horizon and out of this world." I confirmed his assessment with a nod and a smile.

The two of them had the appearance of a couple of patrons at an amusement park who just finished a first time ride on an exceptional new attraction. Bright eyed and coming to terms with the ride knowing there was more to come but in no rush to move themselves.

As their host I continued, "Our travel so far has been in a Short Range Shuttle also called an SRS and this one is an Equinox Flyer model, made about the same time as the main ship. Welcome aboard my ship, the Cutlass Class Deep Space Cruiser Starchaser of the Avalonian Combine Fleet."

"My full title is Senior Captain Barrett Cross and this young lady is my second in command, who you know as my partner and your daughter, Captain Noel Anderson of CCDSC Starchasen. Her ship was the one you saw on our approach that we did not go into, directly below Starchaser if you were looking."

Adam laughed and shook his head no, "Sorry, we were, ah, busy and missed a little bit towards the end there, once we closed our eyes and realized that it felt like we were not going anywhere. Did we really go anywhere or are we still behind the house in Little Porth?"

His look was such that he expected for it to have been an elaborate joke that was about to be revealed. Emma had the same look about her. They were without doubt a well matched pair.

Noel laughed, "Dad! This is real, we are in space and we are inside the shuttle bay of Barrett's ship Starchaser. The entrance shielding slid back in place now so you can't see my ship but it's right there just on the other side of it."

"Our ships are identical and were paired up to make a Twin Ship. Barrett is the Senior Captain, and I am his partner Captain, and this - is your honeymoon cruise. We are going to exceed all your expectations." I noted Emma was listening to Noel with rapt attention, taking it all in without speaking and entranced with Noel's enthusiasm.

I continued, "Let's begin your honeymoon cruise with a tour of the Solar System, the planets and their natural satellites. It needs to be done and I think you will enjoy seeing it together. Consider this the beginning of your tour of our ships. Your tour will continue as we go from place to place and you will have access to both ships, so it will be good for you to know where things are as you move around."

As they disentangled from each other to stand up, we led the way out through the open aft doors. The step down onto the soft deck plates was always grounding for me, a reconnection with Starchaser after being somewhere else.

They noticed the strange feeling of stepping onto what looked like a solid surface that had a sensation of a thin cushioned surface layer before it compressed to feel completely solid. The entry portal to the shuttle bay crew lounge opened with a spiral motion. We passed through its circular opening and it closed behind us with an almost imperceptible low rumble sound.

I let Noel lead the tour as we went forward through Starchaser's lowest primary corridor. We stopped at the loo, just as we had done on Noel's first arrival, as it was needed. I accompanied them in with my focus primarily on Starchase making a copy of their Little Porth home using the combined Phased Transportation resources of our DSCs.

Distance, relative motion, and definitions of boundaries were my main concerns for the copy. All of the contents were duplicated and sanitized for a cataloged replication that was printed in real time to Starchasen's Atrium. We took our time orienting Emma and Adam to their surroundings to allow for our honeymoon gift to be the best possible replication of their home on Earth.

The sensor cube scanned by cubic sectors to record raw information that was pared and parsed to exclude anything outside the structure that was not to be included in the datafile. Separate items had separate files and connected items were in a generated systems design for the property.

Everything was print assembled as proof of product and reviewed virtually. It reminded me of Starchaser's DSC shipyard construction when I was at Academy.

The process took longer than a normal solid matter phased transport but anyone watching the house would be unaware of anything taking place. The replica was absent of living biological elements but everything else was copied and cataloged down to the least item in the house including internal grain structures of wooden objects.

Starchase compensated the mass reallocation of resources within Starchaser and Starchasen during the print process to keep the Twin Ship attitude unchanged to not affect SOHO. Starchase informed us by neural link the copy was completed and the Sensor Cube had been PTd back to Starchaser +A's portside aft locker.

I commanded Starchase to move and we left ESA/NASA-SOHO undisturbed. We were still on the lowest deck when I thought to Noel, 'Their home is replicated in your atrium. For now they could use Starchasen +B for a 10 meter 10 millichron shuttle ride between our DSCs and they won't need a pilot to go there themselves.'

Noel was pleased with my consideration for affording them choices. She led us to the entertainment complex on the forward mid-level deck, that provided them with their first experience of going vertically between decks.

We approached the up-down tubes and she introduced them to what provided vertical movement between decks on Farpoint Ships. We gave them an idea of how they worked, had them hold hands and we took them upward to the forward mid-level deck and the entertainment complex.

An full peripheral wide screen projection filled the forward end of the entertainment complex with a high resolution view of the ship's exterior view in real time. The images seamlessly stitched together feeds from external cameras across Starchaser's hull.

As happened on the Equinox Flyer passage off Earth, it provided an immediate impression there was no wall and an actual window to the outside. The images were corrected for intensity to protect eyes of living beings especially where the Sun was in view.

The view changed from one planet to the next. It was sightseeing for all of us, that began with rapid entry to planetary orbit followed by a low altitude view of the planet from pole to pole.

We were updating the planetary survey for a each planet's surface catalog and included the same procedure for each natural satellite orbiting the planet including a few not yet known to Earth Astronomers.

Once the survey was completed for each planet and associated satellites, the Twin Ship left orbit swiftly to transit to the next nearest planet to conduct the same tasks. It was methodical and served dual purposes for Avalonian datafile archives and for providing Emma and Adam a honeymoon tour of their Sol System that was sure to whet their appetite for space travel on our Avalonian ships.
