Tow-Away Stowaway 7

~~~ Chapter notes ~~~
I'm oversimplifying the remodeling project. I'm also probably providing more inane details than some readers want. I'm striving for a balance between telling a story and simply providing a list of sexual positions and locations.
~~~ Saturday ~~~

Lydia and I had moved about half of the firewood to the shelter when I heard air-brakes from the front of the cabin. I headed around to see who our newest visitor was. There was a propane truck parked behind my pickup. A smiling fellow in a cotton, blue, button-up shirt was walking my way, pulling off a leather glove. He extended his hand. I shook it. He tipped his trucker's cap and bobbed his head to Lydia - who grinned.

"Howdy, folks," he said. "Nathan Gudgel. Rattler Road Propane. When I made Melba's delivery this morning, she informed me that if I wanted to have a chance to get a new customer or two, I needed to get my ass out here and talk to you..."

He looked around.

"I didn't even realize anybody had bought this place. You looking at hooking the cabin up?"

"Yes."

"She told me to ask you for the run-down on your discussions with the power company," he said.

I spent the next 10 minutes talking him through what I had worked out and what my plans were. Lydia left us and went back to carting firewood.

"Oven going on the east wall?"

"Yup."

"Water heater?"

"North."

"Furnace?"

"Well, shit..."

He laughed.

"I bought all of the stuff to close the back porch in," I explained, "and completely forgot all about the furnace. It didn't make it into my sketchbook when I puzzled over what to do in the kitchen and then I got distracted trying to make the bathroom fit."

"I know what you mean," he said. "I just redid the bathroom for the old lady and I must have gone through a whole notebook's worth of paper before I came up with something that both of us could agree on. I've got a wall-unit that's fairly low profile. Cabin just got one big room and then a bedroom?"

"... and I'll be adding the bathroom...," I noted.

"Can we walk around and look?"

"Certainly."

When we passed by Lydia, his eyes widened.

"Can't get my daughter to do shit," he said. "You bribe her or threaten her?"

He grinned.

"Uh...," I stammered.

"He's not my dad; he's my boyfriend," Lydia clarified.

I blushed. Nathan looked at Lydia for a long minute. She stood and waited for his comments.

"You seem to know what you want," he said finally. "You're bustin' your ass to make your dreams come true. Obviously, I presumed when I shouldn't have. Forgive me, little miss. You and this feller here look to be making things happen and I'd be happy to do what I can to be a part of that, if you'll let me."

Lydia grinned, glanced at me, and then turned back to the propane man.

"I thought I knew what roughin' it meant," she told him. "I'm delighted that you're here. I love a nice crackling fire in the fireplace but I'd rather not spend the rest of the summer cuttin' wood. I'm super glad to see you."

With that, she turned, grabbed the handles on the wheelbarrow and headed off with her load. Nathan pulled his eyes away from her and peered into mine.

"Best I keep my mouth shut a little more often," he said, grinning. "It's the perfect size for my boot."

I started laughing.

He moved along the north wall of the cabin, looking the place over. We discussed our options, studied the back porch, and went inside to look around as well. I hem-hawed about putting in three different wall units but I assured him that I would rather have them in the three spaces and be able to turn off the ones we didn't think we needed - than to only put one in the living room and struggle to keep the bathroom and the bedroom warm. Once he got comfortable with not having to worry about me pinching pennies, things moved a lot more quickly.

Nathan took me to the truck, showed me three sizes of the wall units in a catalog he had. I picked the biggest for the main room - and the smallest for the bedroom and the bathroom. He estimated how much propane that we'd need and recommended the size tank that would require a fall fill and - hopefully - get us through the winter without a January visit.

He explained that the propane company owned the tank. There was no rental charge as long as I got my gas from them. My cost came in when I did a fill. A larger tank meant a bigger chunk out of my wallet all at once. The upside was that I could do a fill in the summer - when the prices were lower - and then top it off before the snow came in - and then get a partial fill in the spring to hold us through until the prices dropped again. I assured him that I wanted exactly what he was describing. He nodded and grinned.

He scribbled down some notes and told me that he'd order the heaters and get a tank. He planned to bring the tank out sometime in the next week. If the heaters were in by then, he would install those - as well as hook up the oven and the water heater. I told him that sounded fine. I told him to feel free to wait to come out until the heaters arrived.

Before he left, he assured me that he wanted to work with me on whatever additional buildings we constructed. I told him that I was looking forward to it. We shook hands and he climbed up in the truck to get turned around and head out.

When I got back to Lydia, she squealed and threw her arms around me. She kissed the shit out of me. I couldn't help but laugh at her.

We finished moving the rest of the firewood and then I drove the truck through the yard so that we wouldn't have to carry everything so far. We unloaded all of the stuff that I had bought and then I parked the truck back around front again.

As soon as I looked between the toilet and the porch, I cursed. Lydia laughed.

"What did you forget?"

"Plumbing," I told her.

I explained how we were going to need to install a raised floor so that we could run the pipes for the shower, the toilet, and the sink to drain.

"I need to go get Ted," I grumbled. "If he can't do this, I'm gonna need an excavator and a plumber."

"Excavator?" Lydia asked.

"We need a septic tank," I said. "I don't think laterals and a leech field is going to cut it. For the septic, we're going to need a pit. We'll need to dig out a hole for the septic tank and - probably - a set of stairs to access it so somebody can come pump it out."

I glanced at my phone.

"Let's go to town," I told her. "We'll grab an early lunch and I'll... You know what? We'll treat Ted and I can pester him while we're waiting for the food to cook."

Lydia grinned and headed for the truck. I wasn't far behind her. She caught me looking at her ass and put an extra bit of sway in her hips. I just laughed at her.

We parked at the lumberyard. I went to get Ted and Lydia went to get a table. Ted tried to decline but I told him that it was a business meeting. He grinned and followed me to Sue's. Lydia was sitting at our usual table. Annie brought out three teas and took our orders. We all ordered off of the specials board.

We sipped our tea and I told Ted what I'd gotten myself into. He told me that he knew a kid - Lance somebody - who wasn't a real plumber but he worked for the guy that owned the honey wagon. He told me that Lance would get the job done and make sure that the tank was set up right so that they could get in to pump it out later without any trouble. I told Ted that was fine and to send Lance my way whenever he got the chance. Ted rang the kid up, chatted for a minute or two, and told me that he'd be out that afternoon. I laughed and shook my head.

Annie brought our food and - since they weren't busy yet - sat and chatted with Lydia while Ted and I visited. I caught Ted up on our visit from Nathan.

When Ted finished up, he headed back to work. He wouldn't let me buy him a slice of pie. Annie talked us into trying the chocolate cream pie. I ended up having to have her get me a glass of milk. It was really good but richer than I could handle. Lydia only had one glass; I had two.

We stopped at Melba's and grabbed the stuff to make chicken and noodles for dinner so that we wouldn't have to come back to town. I thanked her for sending Nathan out. Lydia squeezed her and kissed her cheeks.

As we left Melba's I ran down through my task list. I stopped at Ted's and bought three 4x8 lattice walls to go around the wood shelter. I stuck them in the bed of the truck and jumped in to head home.

We got the lattice hung first. I really needed three more of them but - for now - it would do. Lydia said it made the little pole-barn look nicer. I tossed her the keys and sent her back to Ted's to get three more of them.

I headed into the kitchen to pull out the wood cooking stove. Nathan had told me that we would reuse the small vent-pipe for the propane oven. I took the little chimney pipe pieces off, took them outside, and knocked the soot out of them. I set them on the porch until I got the oven installed.

I spent the next two hours on that project. Lydia got the new lattice pieces screwed into place and then came to help me. We carted the old stove out, unboxed the new one, picked it up, and carried it in. We'd just gotten it situated when we heard a truck pull in.

Lydia told me that she was tired of explaining our situation to folks. She said she'd stay and work on the stove while I met with Lance.

Lance looked like he wasn't much older than Lydia. He brought a notepad and a measuring tape. I told him what I planned. He said that he'd dig under the porch and then brace whatever sections of the floor needed it so that I could just keep the floor the way it was. He would allow enough dead space between the floor and the tank for me to do the plumbing.

He asked how soon I needed it done and I assured him that I wasn't planning to make any demands on his time. He asked how I was paying him. I asked if cash worked and he grinned and nodded. He shot me a price. I dug out my wallet and gave him half. I told him that he'd get the rest when we were done. He said that was fine. He asked if he could get started right away. I told him to knock himself out. He asked where I wanted the dirt and rocks piled. I told him to put them wherever worked for him and I'd move the stuff later. He really liked that answer.

Lance disappeared for almost two hours but came back with a truckload of tools and a giant plastic tank. I asked him why it needed to be that big. He said that - as a general rule - people use 50-100 gallons of water a day. I asked why it was so high when it was just the toilet flushing. He explained that all of the water went to the tank - the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink, the shower, and the toilet. I was glad he knew what he was doing. Lance estimated that we'd have to have the thing pumped out every other month.

I asked him about sending the "gray water" somewhere else - to reduce how often they had to come. He walked me across the backyard and explained why that would be a significant challenge. He suggested only showering once or twice a week if we really wanted to cut back on how often they had to come pump the tank.

I left Lance to his work and went back in the house. I caught Lydia up on all of the explanations about septic tanks, waste water, and water conservation. She warned me that she wanted to be able to shower more often than we currently were - but said that she'd use as little water as possible.

Lydia was disappointed to hear that we wouldn't be able to take long showers together to have sex. She was very clear that she wanted me to make sure that we made all of the necessary arrangements so that we could do that in the new house when it was built. She pressed her lips to mine and squeezed my dick to emphasize her point.

My little blonde lover already had the oven mostly installed. We finished hooking up the vent-pipe and stepped back to look at it. Lydia was anxious to keep moving on the renovations. We poured ourselves into our work. It was dusk by the time Lance knocked on the back door.

I went out and he updated me on his progress. The digging had taken longer than he had expected. I told him to keep track of whatever overruns we had and he shook his head. He said the only thing that he'd miscalculated on was the tank.

I asked how much he'd shorted himself. I gave him half of the difference and told him we'd make up the rest at the end. He thanked me. He had ended up having to come up with part of the money himself because the money that I'd given him to start the project hadn't been enough.

Lance told me that he was heading home and said that he'd be back the next afternoon. I reminded him that it was Sunday and he asked if that was okay. I told him that it was fine with me - I had just wanted to make sure that he knew. He laughed and said that it was easier to work on Sunday afternoon than to try to fit stuff in during the week.

I shook his hand and thanked him. He headed around the cabin to get into his truck. I went back in the house. Lydia started on the meal preparations. I went back to work.

A bit later, she came over with a small stock pan and asked, "How am I cooking this?"

We both started laughing. I led her out to the front porch, slid the old cook stove as close to the edge of the porch as I could, and then started building a fire in it. She set the pan on top and helped me prepare the kindling. She found some cardboard and tore it up. We lit it, got the smaller stuff going, and then added some larger pieces. Once the fire was rolling, we stuck a couple medium-sized pieces in to provide the main source of lasting heat.

I went back in to work on the kitchen. She stayed and stirred the pot. A minute later, she leaned in the door and hollered at me. When I asked what she needed, she asked if we had any potatoes to boil up to make some mashed potatoes to go with the soup.

I warned her that it would take forever if I had to peel them and she said that she was fine with leaving the skins on them. I grabbed the sack of potatoes and set to work. I found a pot, added water, and cubed up the potatoes as small as I could. I took her the pan when I was done. She handed me the soup pot to take back inside. I set it on the new stove since it could handle the heat.

I went back to work and lost track of time until Lydia called me to come eat. I washed my hands and joined her at the table. We had chicken noodle soup, mashed potatoes (which just went into the bowl with the rest), and some saltines. It tasted amazing. I was obviously starving.

We ate until well after we should have stopped and then went back to working again. When I yawned twice within a minute, Lydia told me that we were done for the night. We went outside, peed, came back in, stripped, washed up, and went to bed.

My eyes were already closed but Lydia was horny. I laughed and told her that she was always horny. When she began stroking my penis, I slid my fingers down her body and then played with her coochie for a few minutes before I slid two fingers inside of her to help her feel as good as she was making me. When I was hard, she wriggled around and suddenly her mouth was on my cock.

I opened my eyes, ran my fingers through her hair, and told her to just ride me and get herself off. She ignored me. She licked and sucked until I was fit to be tied. When I warned her that I was about to cum, she suddenly stopped. She snickered when I growled at her. She climbed on top of me, got my dick inside of her, and rode me like a bronco buster. I blew my load in almost no time. She was right behind me, cursing and moaning as she joined her orgasm with mine. I squeezed her butt, groped her tits, and kissed her lips. She lay down on me, snuggled into me, and I immediately fell asleep.

~~~ Sunday ~~~
We ate some dry cereal for breakfast and washed it down with bottled water. After that, we went back to knocking out the stuff we no longer wanted, building back what we needed, and installing what I'd bought. Nothing was professional, without a doubt, but it was equal or better to what we'd removed. If the new owners wanted something better, they could build it or buy it themselves.
By lunchtime, we had the kitchen close enough to get by. If we got snowed in over the winter and got bored, we could make improvements at that point. The sink was ready to be plumbed and the oven was ready for Nathan to run the propane line.
We moved to the back porch to discover Lance walking around the cabin to get back to work again. Since he didn't need our help, Lydia and I started getting the water heater unboxed and set in place.
Next to the water heater, on the wall beside the bedroom, we set the toilet. Beside that went the pedestal sink. Once that was done, I turned to the other side of the "L" to figure out the shower.
The longer I stood and looked at the thing, the more I decided that there was really no space to put an exterior door to exit around the new bathroom. The choices were to either skip the rear exit altogether - or put in windows that could be kicked out in the event of an emergency. Foot traffic would go in and out of the front of the cabin.
As often as we came out of the back, I was reticent to close the pathway off but I really didn't want a door in the middle of the bathroom.
"What if you just do a sliding or folding door across the shitter and another one across the shower?" Lydia asked.
"You're brilliant," I told her. "I'm not happy about the possibility that we'll draw in more cold air - but that would solve the problem perfectly. We'd only need to pull the doors across if somebody was here. The rest of the time, we could just leave them open."
I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed.
"Add those to our shopping list," I said. "Hopefully, Ted can move this exterior door to the new outside wall for us."
"My brother can do that shit," Lance hollered up through the floor.
"If his rates are close to yours," I said, "that works for me."
"You ain't got no signal out here," Lance replied. "I'll give him a yell when I go grab lunch."
"That would be awesome," I told him. "You gonna be okay here if Lydia and I run to Cody?"
"Yeah."
"I need to get those folding doors and grab some cash for your brother."
"Could I get you to bring a pizza back for dinner?" he asked.
"Pop's?" I queried.
"Yeah. Sausage and pepperoni, please."
"Anything for your brother?"
He laughed and said, "The same. We can split one."
"Nonsense," I replied. "I've got you. What're you drinking?"
"Uh..."
The look on his face suggested that he was thinking about trying to see if I'd buy him a case of beer.
"Don't get me arrested," I told him, laughing.
"Coke, then."
Lydia giggled. I pinched her butt and smirked at her. I pulled out my phone and started making my list of what I needed in Cody and Valley City.
We left Lance working and headed to town. Lydia held her hand out. I twined my fingers into hers.
"I didn't realize a bathroom was going to be this much work," she said.
I chuckled.
"I guess I didn't either," I told her. "It's funny how we take this stuff for granted."
"I won't take you for granted, Mr. Simms. I appreciate all that you're doing for me."
"I'd end up doing it for myself, I think," I told her. "I thought I was ready to rough it in exchange for some peace and quiet."
"You haven't gotten that either... That's my fault too."
"Lydia, honey, I'm gobsmacked that you're still here putting up with me," I told her. "I don't mind work. I knew I'd be cutting firewood. I hadn't thought much about bathing in a wash-basin, I admit - or keeping food stuff cold for days on end. I could make the cabin work - and I'd be fairly happy doing it - but I've got no problem giving you some of what we might have previously called basic necessities - even if it's turning into a bit more work than I'd wanted."
