Unexpected Journey
Unexpected Journey Pt. 03
Unexpected Journey Pt. 03
Ok, here is the third part. Sorry it's so long. I had submitted it a few weeks ago, but it was just stuck in the pending category. I figured it got lost and re-uploaded. Enjoy.
I sat on our bed, and looked at Gary, who sat in our bedroom chair across the room. He didn't look mad, just very serious. He definitely wasn't smiling. Yeah, serious would be the best adjective. The room felt very tense.
"Hey Gar, what's up? Everything okay?" I asked. My nerves were already starting to fray. Did he suspect anything? Did Sarah slip up?
"Yes, but we have to talk."
I adjusted on the bed. Pulling a leg up and leaving the other one on the floor. The opening of my hips caused a dollop of Gordon's cum to leak into my panties. I plastered a smile. "Okay, awkward, but that's not unusual coming from you. Ha! Let me just shower and get ready for bed. I feel gross from this heat. It's been so humid."
I stood, desperate to wash away the evidence, but Gary stood and blocked my path.
"You can shower later, Jenn. Sit down, please."
I looked at him, he meant it.
My heart pounded as I sank back onto the bed.Stay calm. There is no way he knows anything. I've been too careful. He can't know."Okay, hon. What's up?" I asked. He sat back down, leaned forward and put his elbows on his knees. Like he was interviewing me.
"So, did you have anyone over yesterday?"
Oh fuck. Why is he asking about yesterday?I looked at his clock on the night table. My memory of the hour I'd spent with Gordon on this very bed very vivid.I had checked Gary's location. He was nowhere near here. There's no way he knows.A drop of sweat ran down my rib cage.
"Yesterday? No, nobody came over. I was working all day. Same as you. Why? You're acting weird."I said a silent prayer, hoping he wasn't thinking about what I was worried he was thinking about.
His eyebrows moved the smallest amount. Like he was concentrating.
"I was in the office yesterday, and you were home alone. Did anyone come over?" he pressed.
He's fishing. He doesn't know anything, but he's been in sales long enough to read non-verbal cues.I forced a laugh, "No, I told you. Nobody. Why do you keep asking?"
"Okay, well, I never told you, but I installed security cameras around the house. One watches the driveway, and I got an alert yesterday that someone was in our driveway. Who was in the pickup truck? It looked like Gordon's."
Cameras? Fucking cameras? My face got hot and I had trouble breathing in. "You put in security cameras?" I squeaked, my voice was strained and an octave higher.Get control. "When? Why didn't you tell me?"
"You know how I am. I wanted them for when we are gone, or in case our cars got broken in to. I also thought you would feel safer. I was going to show them to you this weekend when it slowed down." he said. "I've been traveling a lot, and I get nervous about being away. I put them in a week or so ago while you were out. I forgot to tell you."
"Well, yeah, Gordon stopped by, but he was just picking up some tools he left here. He was working on our bathroom, remember?"
"If he was just picking up tools, why was he here for so long?"
He knows. He fucking knows.I'm sure he could hear my heart hammering in my chest, but I had to push back. "Was it that long? I don't think he was here for that long. Are you sure?"
"Yeah, a little over an hour."
"Hmm. I mean, after he got everything, we did talk. But it was just in the kitchen you know. Catching up. He was asking about the yard, and we ended up chatting about home stuff. I guess it was longer than I thought. What's the big deal? You don't think I slept with Gordon do you?"
I grabbed my phone and tossed it at him. "Here, free reign, look through it."
The phone landed on the carpet next to his chair. He picked it up and tossed it back.
"No, I don't need to look through your phone. You're not dumb. You'd know to delete anything incriminating." He paused; his eyes locked on mine. "I'm just going to say this... I think you fucked him. "
The room spun.Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. He knows. Oh God, he knows. My mouth went dry, and I struggled to swallow.Keep it together. He's guessing.
"What? Are you serious? He's like half my age. Why would he want me? That's crazy. We were just talking, I swear. He picked up his tools, and clearly we lost track of time. It get's lonely working from home by yourself. You're seriously jumping to that? We've been married for over twenty years--I'd never do that to you. Why would that thought even enter your mind?"
Gary leaned back and took a sip of bourbon. "I'm just asking, Jenn. I'd hope after over 20 years together, you'd be honest with me." He looked down at the floor, then back at me. "Come on, Jenn... I can tell you shower multiple times a day. You never want sex anymore. "
He's piecing it together. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, think dammit.I tried to channel outrage, standing up to face him. "Look, you're reading way too much into this. Yeah, I took a shower last night--and other nights--because I'm sweaty and gross after a long day. I just want to feel clean. I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of this. Gordon dropped by, like I said. Can we please drop this? You're acting like a jealous asshole."
He tilted his head. "Why don't I believe you? You're barely making eye contact with me."
Because I'm fucking terrified.I raised my voice, hoping to put him on the defensive. "Ugh, babe, come on, stop this! I'm not looking you in the eye because you're stressing me out with these questions and essentially telling me I'm lying to you. I told you; it was just Gordon picking up his stuff. I'm not hiding anything. You're acting like I've done something awful. Can you just calm down and trust me? Why are you so convinced something's up?"
Gary reached behind him and pulled out a pair of my panties, tossing them at me. I caught them, my heart stopping as I recognized the pair I'd worn yesterday. My palms grew slick with sweat, my vision blurring. Please, God, no.
"Explain this," he said, his voice had no emotion. "I saw you put those on yesterday morning. Then, when I saw Gordon was here for so long, I got curious. This morning, I found them buried in the laundry. I know they're the ones you wore because I love them on you. I remember watching you get dressed." I looked up from my underwear into his eyes. He was looking back at me. He continued. "But that's clearly cum in them. What the fuck, Jennifer?"
He's got me. I'm fucked.I stared at the panties, my mind replaying yesterday's sex with Gordon. Why didn't I shower after? Why didn't I do a load of wash?I forced myself to meet his gaze. "Whoa, Gary, hold on--what are you even talking about? That's insane. I threw those in the laundry because I changed after the day, alright? I don't know what you're seeing, but it's not cum. Are you really going through my laundry now? This is getting out of hand. Can you just take a breath and stop accusing me? I didn't do anything with Gordon or anyone else. You're imagining something that didn't happen, and I'm getting pissed."
I thought my angry reply would cause Gary to back down, but I was wrong. He sipped his bourbon, again. "Am I? My gut tells me something's off. Look me in the eye and tell me nothing happened."
I stood, hands on my hips, summoning every ounce of courage. I took a deep breath, meeting his gaze. "Gary, I'm telling you, nothing happened. It was just a normal day, okay? He picked up his tools, we talked, and that's it. I don't know why your gut's telling you otherwise, but you're wrong. Can we please let this go? And stop digging through my dirty laundry--it's disgusting."
"What did you and Gordon talk about, then?"
"I already fucking told you. Boring stuff--lawnmower, yard, landscaping ideas. I don't even remember all the details; it was just talking."
"So, you promise nothing happened?"
I hesitated, sensing a trap. "Gary, look at me... I promise, it was just a conversation. Nothing happened with Gordon. You're making this into something it's not. Can we please drop this and just go to bed?
He stood and moved closer to me.
"Okay. Sit down for a second." I sat, my heart racing as he pulled out his phone. "Then how do you explain this other video footage I have?" He pulled up his photos and showed me a paused video. It was of Gordon and me embracing in this very bedroom, the lights glaringly bright. I was already naked. I remembered the moment well.
My throat closed, a deafening pulse in my ears.
"This is a camera feed from our bedroom," he said. He pointed to the new picture frame that held our wedding day photo. There's the camera. Back to the phone he pointed. "That's you, isn't it? I'd like to think I know what you look like naked, even if your face is hidden in that frame. That certainly looks like Gordon. You're clearly embracing. Should I press play? We'll know for sure if it's you."
I started to cry. The price of my lies and sneaking coming due. The guilt, the thrill, the constant fear of being caught all surged to the surface. I sobbed, my voice breaking. "Okay, honey. Please don't press play. I... I can't keep lying to you. You've got the footage, so there's no point." I paused, choking on my words. "Yeah, I slept with him. I cheated on you. It happened. I didn't mean for it to go this far, but... it did."
I cried harder, I felt so ashamed. Not in a long time had I felt so bad about myself. I was overwhelmed with the terrible feeling of shame. "It started a while back, just once, and I felt awful. I swear it was just once and I couldn't handle the guilt. But then... it happened again. And again, and it just escalated. I'm so sorry, honey. I love you. Please, Gary, you have to believe me. I'm sorry. I don't want to lose you." I stood, tears easily staining my cheeks, and tried to hug him, but he gently pushed me away.
"Go... sit. We aren't done," he said, his voice was cold.
I sank back onto the bed, wiping my eyes. He's going to leave me. I've ruined everything. After a few minutes, I looked at him. I could feel my body trembling.
"When was the last time you were together?" he asked.
I stared at my husband. "Why? What does it matter?"
"Because it does. Were you with him today?"
"No... no. Yesterday. You have the video."
"Are you sure?" He looked right through me. Like he was trying to read me.
He knows I'm lying."Why, Gary? What does it matter?" I whispered through my tears.
"Stand up," he ordered, his tone sharp. I flinched but obeyed. "Show me."
"Show you? Show you what?" I asked, confused.
"Your pussy. Prove to me you weren't just with him."
He'll see everything. Gordon's cum is still there. My mouth dropped open. "Please, Gary. No. I'm begging you."
"Do it, Jenn."
I looked at him. My heart was pounding in my chest.
"Do it, Jenn. Now."
My hands shook as I stood, hooking my thumbs into my yoga pants. He's going to see it. He'll know I lied."Please, honey... I'm so sorry. Please don't make me do this," I whispered, but his slight head shake silenced me. I slid my pants down, my black thong clinging to my skin, the wet stain unmistakable under the bedroom light. It's obvious. I'm caught.I pulled the thong to my thighs, exposing myself--swollen, slick, unmistakably used, Gordon's cum glistening. He's seeing it. He knows.
I stood, trembling, waiting for his rage, but he remained silent, his eyes locked on mine. Why isn't he screaming? Why isn't he leaving?I closed my eyes ashamed. The past weeks flashed through my mind--every moment I'd lived in fear, checking for Gordon's scent, hiding the evidence. But today, just an hour ago, I'd been with him again, and now it was all laid bare. He looked down at my crotch. I could smell cum wafting upwards. My pubic hair was matted with drying cum. My labia still raw and swollen from the rough sex. The crotch of my underwear was slimy from my wetness and Gordon's cum that had leaked into it over the last 45 minutes.I'm disgusting. He'll never forgive me.
Gary took a sip of his bourbon and gestured for me to sit. I sank onto the bed, humiliated, the smell of my betrayal was heavy in the air.
"Do you love him?" he asked, his voice low.
I looked down, ashamed. "No, I don't love him, babe. It's not about love. It's just..." I faltered, unable to articulate the pull Gordon had over me.
He sat beside me, his arm pulling me into his chest. I sobbed, the warmth of his embrace a cruel contrast to my guilt.I don't deserve this. After several minutes, I sat up, meeting his unreadable gaze.
"I'm going to ask you a couple of questions," he said. "If you lie or refuse to answer, our marriage is over. I will burn your reputation to the ground. Do you understand?"
I nodded, terrified. He's going to destroy me.
"Is the sex better with him?"
"Honey, please. Don't do this. It's not important. Don't torture us like this," I pleaded, tears streaming.Oh God, don't make me say it.
"Last chance, Jenn."
I looked at my naked lap. My pubic hair and labia shiny with drying cum, my leggings crumpled at my feet.No more lies.
"Yes," I whispered.
Gary took a deep breath and another sip. "How much better?"
I remained looking down. Staring at my crotch. Softly, "A lot better. The best I've ever had."
I took a deep breath and thought carefully. "It's not about you not being enough, it's just... the sex, it's better with him."
"How?" he pressed.
I turned, looking into his eyes. "Do you really want to know this, Gary? I don't want to hurt you. I love you."
His silence urged me on. "Fine. With Gordon... it's intense. He's confident, takes charge, knows what I need without me saying it. The physical stuff--it's just on another level. I'm not saying you're bad, it's just... different, better in a way I can't explain. I wish I could take it back for your sake."
Gary blinked and turned to the window, staring into the darkness. "Is his dick bigger?" he asked, his voice barely audible.
"Come on, Gary, don't," I said in exasperation. He didn't turn. "Why are guys so hung up on this? It's just a penis." I looked at him, but he just stared at me. I took a deep breath. "If you really want to know... yes. He's bigger than you."
He faced me, waiting. "Fine, you want the truth? Yeah, he's bigger--a little longer, but much thicker. It's part of why it feels so intense. He has an amazing cock. But it's not just that--it's how he moves, how he's so confident, how he gets me going in a way that's hard to turn off. I'm not saying this to be cruel--it's just a fact. I love you, Gary, and I love your dick. You know that. I love our sex. But Gordon... he gets deeper, stretches me more than you ever did. Happy?"
Gary flinched, and I instantly regretted my words.
"Why do you want to know this, Gary? Isn't it enough that I betrayed you? Why torture yourself? I feel horrible already."
He didn't answer, his gaze distant. "Ok. Next question. I watched the video. The video shows you.... Well, let's just say enjoying yourself," he said finally. "Noises I've never heard you make. But worst of all. you called him babe during sex. Right under our wedding picture for fucks sake. And he just... goes on. I get that he's better, but we're married. Wasn't our promise to each other supposed to mean something?"
I've broken him."I know, Gar, I know we're married, and I see how much this hurts. You saw what happened, and yeah, it's intense with him. Those noises, that moment, they are all 100% real, I'm not going to lie, but I can't take it back. But I'm not doing this to spite you. I'm caught up in it, and I don't know how to stop, even if I wanted to. I love you; I love our intimacy. I don't want to lose you."
"What do you mean, 'even if I wanted to'?" he asked, his voice sharp.
Fuck, what did I say?I shifted, and tried to swallow a dry throat. "I don't know why I said that. I'm sorry."
"Did you mean it?" he asked in barely a whisper.
I simply looked down and nodded my head.
"Why?" he asked.
I stood. Naked from the waist down, I walked past him to the bathroom. His eyes followed me. I grabbed a washcloth, ran it under hot water, and cleaned myself, the act feeling like a futile attempt to erase my sins. I tossed the cloth in the hamper and slipped on clean panties and a t-shirt.
"I don't know, Gary. I'm so lost. I don't want to lose you--you're the love of my life--but Gordon awakened something in me. If I have to choose, I'll choose you. But since you want the truth... I don't want to stop with him."
Gary's mouth fell open, his eyes wide. We stared at each other, the silence deafening. He tipped his glass, downing his bourbon in one gulp. "I have to go," he said, his voice hollow. "Please don't try to stop me. I need space."
Tears streamed down my face. "Okay," I cried.
He left, and I crawled into bed, wrapping my arms around myself.I've lost him. I've lost everything. The hope I'd clung to--that I could keep my secret, that I could have both worlds--had crumbled into a terrifying reality. I was caught, exposed, and the remorse was suffocating. I cried until exhaustion claimed me, falling into a restless sleep, torn between the life I'd built and the desire I couldn't escape.
I woke up the next morning not feeling very rested. I could sense Gary in bed with me. I rolled over and looked at him. He was still asleep. I had no idea what time he came to bed. It was a Saturday at 7:00 and although I wanted to sleep in, I got up. Making some coffee, I sat on the couch and reflected on how badly I had screwed up. I should've listened to Sarah. I had gotten lost in the excitement that Gordon brought into my life. My marriage was likely over, my kids would lose respect for me, and I had most definitely ruined any chance I had of growing old with my husband. At this point though, I had no more tears to shed. I was emotionally drained. I sat there numb for 30 minutes. Gary came down, got coffee and came and sat next to me.
I was quiet, looking down at my coffee, unsure of what to say. Gary was equally quiet. His presence next to me was somehow reassuring though. We sat there looking down and not really talking. Just sipping coffee.
"Why, Jenn," Gary asked. "I don't get it."
Taking a deep breath, refusing to meet his eye, I exhaled slowly. "I really don't know Gar." I took a sip, then turned my head to look at him. "I don't even know how it happened." I proceeded to tell him about the time that led up to everything.
"I didn't know that I was failing you in bed, babe. Why didn't you say anything?" Gary looked at me with empathy.
"Gar.. stop. This wasn't your fault. There are so many other things I should've done to prevent this."
"Well, yeah. That's true. But I insisted we hire him. I brought him into our house; you should've told me what you were going through. I didn't help you at all. I abandoned you. I'm sorry for that, but why the fuck didn't you say something to me. I would've put a stop to it."
"Gary, stop it. Don't do this. Stop trying to be the knight in shining armor. I'm the one that fucked around. Whatever was going on in my life doesn't excuse what I did, now don't you dare apologize again."
Gary just looked at me, then faced forward. Quiet returned and we were both alone in our thoughts. Just then, my phone pinged. It was Gordon.
"Fuck," I said under my breath.
"Who is that," Gary asked.
"Who do you think," I said as I put my phone down.
"What does he want," Gary asked looking at me again.
"I'm sure you can guess," I replied with a chuckle.
