Evie Awakened Ch. 02

Welcome back to the tale of Evie Zeller! In the previous installment, Evie dealt with nightmares and a strange force seizing control of her body under the direction of the mysterious Creeper. She managed to shake off the mental attack and go about her morning, enjoying breakfast with her parents and coffee with her neighbor and mentor Jasmine. Jasmine departed for a month-long vacation, leaving her house in Evie's hands, promising a quiet summer relaxing by the pool, snuggling up to watch movies and play video games with best friend Kelly, and having lots of sex with boyfriend Marcus. When Marcus was called into work, Evie decided to explore Jasmine's toy collection and settled on a dildo that gave her an unexpectedly intense experience.

This chapter starts with Eronis, who pulls Evie into the world of magic, then introduces Kelly as the two friends find a new connection. Includes FF and toys. Future chapters in book 1 will feature various encounters centered around a bisexual woman with single or multiple partners, body modification, a few monsters, and mental magic. In a less content-warning sense, this story will contain action, danger, romance, maybe a little heartbreak, plus lots of magic and other fantasy nonsense. All sex depicted is and always will be enthusiastically consensual. Apologies in advance to the Rons out there. I think you're great, even if Evie is prejudiced.

Chapter 2: A First Time for Everything

Evie sprawled naked on her bed, utterly relaxed. The borrowed sex toy that helped her reach a series of satisfying orgasms lay in the sweaty, tangled sheets. Dr. Boots, her neighbor Jasmine's tuxedo cat, curled up on her belly, purring contentedly as she scratched his chin. A pleasant tingle ran through her body and she reached down to cup her well-used sex. She expected to be wet, but was surprised to find herself a dripping mess. She scooped a bit of the liquid and brought it close to her nose. A sharply sweet scent mingled with a more familiar musk--semen. The fantasy she enjoyed while fucking herself with the dildo had felt real, but it was just a fantasy. Sure, sheshouldhave been dripping with her boyfriend's cum by now, but he ditched her to take an extra shift at work. So, how did she end up this way? And why did her mouth taste like pussy? She rubbed her aching chest as she puzzled over the state of her day. Housesitting for Jasmine wasn't usually so eventful.

"Not to worry, Lady Bearer, we can sort that out," said a voice from across the room. A strange man stood near the door. "It has been some time since I engaged in so vigorous an introduction. Greetings, Sorcerer Evelyn Zeller. I am Eronis."

Dr. Boots shrieked as Evie sat bolt upright, launching the poor cat off her midriff and into the air. He passed harmlessly through the intruder's chest and scrambled in midair to land roughly on the dresser. He dropped to the floor and exited with an aggrieved hiss, shooting a glare at Evie and the man who had appeared in her bedroom. Evie stood, hastily covering herself with the duvet to hide her nudity. "What the--who the fuck are you? How did you get in here?!"

The man held up his hands in a calming gesture, his expression concerned. Between his toga, sandals, and too-perfect beauty, he looked like a statue of Adonis come to life. "Please, Lady Bearer, I wish you no harm." He smiled warmly. "The bonding was successful. Be seated and relax." A chair, upholstered in dark leather that clashed with the light wood and pastel decor of Evie's bedroom, appeared beneath the man as he sat. He leaned back and crossed his legs at the ankle, gesturing at Evie to sit on the bed.

She remained standing. The man's deference and anachronistic appearance were already shifting her reaction from terrified to curious, but she remained wary. "Fine, you have one minute to explain how and why you're in my bedroom," Evie threatened, trying to look intimidating while naked and fumbling to unlock her phone. The droplet of cum running down her leg didn't help.

"Please, Lady Bearer, I am here at your summons. You claimed the artifact through the Keeper's ritual and bound its avatar to your service." The man moved forward and Evie took an awkward step back, the comforter tangling in her legs. "Lady Bearer, I--"

Evie cut him off. "Why do you keep calling me 'Bearer'? And how did you know my name?"

"As I said, I am Eronis. I am the avatar of the Rod of Eronis, and you its master. The Bearer of the Rod commands its power. You are the first sorcerer to be chosen since the death of Bearer Baptiste in the year 1837." Eronis smiled broader, though it strained at the edges. Shocking as the visitor's introduction was, he seemed to have expected a warmer reception.

Her legs shook as Evie stumbled backward onto the bed. She took a deep breath, then several more. At last, her pounding heart slowed, though the dull ache in her chest remained. There was a magic man in her bedroom who called her a sorcerer--start there. She tried to formulate a question for Eronis, but all she could think was "what the fuck?"

Taking her silence as an invitation, Eronis offered, "Lady Bearer, perhaps I should have begun with a pledge. Would it please you to formally accept my service?" Evie nodded; it seemed the thing to do. He cleared his throat and kneeled, one hand resting over his heart while the other wove through the air in a theatrical bow. "Evelyn Zeller, worthy Bearer of the Rod of Eronis, this avatar humbly and eternally surrenders himself to your dominion. By my vessel, I so swear. By right of my creator's station, I so swear. By my magic, I so swear."

With each repetition, Evie felt something snap into place, an awareness she hadn't known she was missing. Eronis connected them with his oath, and she felt the unfamiliar contours of a foreign consciousness nestle in her mind. Her panic at Eronis's sudden appearance vanished. He belonged here, belonged with her. It was like waking up next to a sleeping partner, their presence expected and comforting. Inspired by the comparison, she imagined the mental equivalent of laying a hand on her partner's arm.

Evidently, she would need to practice her spiritual gestures, as Eronis leapt to his feet with a pained cry. Alarmed by the abrupt movement, Evie shouted and threw her phone. It passed through his head and bounced off the wall. Overcoming her shock, Evie rushed forward, dropping the bedding from around herself and reaching out to hold this strange invader. Eronis was solid to her touch. She cradled his face in her hands. The spike of pain that had run through her mind faded, and she tried cautiously brushing her consciousness against his again. He relaxed and dropped back into the leather chair.

"Thank you, Lady Bearer. I...apologize for my outburst." Eronis spoke slowly, choosing his words with care. "I am unaccustomed to such force of will." He paused again. "I humbly submit myself for punishment."

Evie staggered back to the bed and sat down heavily, trying to make sense of the last few minutes. She shut her eyes to block out Eronis--both the man who had appeared out of thin air in her bedroom and the anxious presence in the back of her mind. "No need for punishment. Just...don't startle me." Eronis looked at her with gratitude. "Okay, basic questions. You said I'm a sorcerer. Do you mean casting spells, witches and wizards, curses and dragons kind of magic?"

"Yes, my Lady, though you are unlikely to cross paths with a wizard, and I would advise you to steer clear of witches." A sour look conveyed Eronis's deeper feelings, but he did not elaborate.

Evie struggled to contain her excitement. For years, she and her best friend Kelly had dreamed about being wizards. They wrote spellbooks, fashioned staffs and wands out of fallen branches, and spent many a sleepover trying to cast spells on themselves and each other. Evie went so far as to track down a local oddity named Estelle who was rumored to practice witchcraft and begged to be her apprentice. She quickly lost interest in the lessons--mostly weeding an overgrown garden to "study herb lore"--but she did befriend the supposed witch's stepdaughter, Paige. She had a tutoring appointment with Paige later in the week, and it may be worth asking Estelle about...all of this.

Evie narrowed her eyes, processing. "Okay, no wizards, avoid witches." She felt a flutter in her stomach that traveled lower; Eronis hadn't shot down her mention of dragons. "How do I, uh, do magic?" His smile did not falter, but Evie felt a surge of anxiety from Eronis. That could become a problem, but for now, she was too taken with curiosity to let his emotions influence her own.

He answered haltingly, "Keeper Duvergier will handle your instruction in spellcraft if she has not already arranged a tutor. You conducted the ritual and I perceive that the Keeper is not present, so you clearly have some proficiency."

"Keeper Duvergier--do you mean Jasmine is a wizard? And she's supposed to teach me magic?"

Eronis winced. "Sorcerer, Lady Bearer, but yes. The Keepers of the Rod are responsible for preserving knowledge of Eromancy and passing it on to the next Bearer. The Duvergier family have borne this responsibility for generations. Jasmine Duvergier is the current Keeper. Or was, until you claimed the mantle; you may, of course, appoint a new Keeper in her place."

Questions sprang up faster than Evie could possibly ask. Her neighbor, the obscenely gorgeous sex therapist, was a sorcerer? Moreover, she was supposed to teach sorcery to Evie? Jasmine had never once mentioned magic, let alone divulged her role as heir of an ancient magical tradition. But then, Jasmine wasn't one to reveal secrets unprompted. She was a tease, certainly, but she also loved to see Evie learn and solve problems on her own.

Still, this particular revelation would have been a lot more convenient before Jasmine went on vacation. "Um, Eronis?" The man regarded her, his nerves undiminished. "Jasmine left this morning and she forgot to add 'how to cast spells' to her housesitting instructions. She won't be back for a month. Is there supposed to be a standard introduction? Did you two have a plan?"

Tension flowed from Eronis. He swiped a hand through his hair, a move so reminiscent of her dad that Evie couldn't help but smile. His answer came reluctantly. "Apologies, my Lady, but I am unable to communicate directly with the Keepers, even one as skilled as Jasmine Duvergier. My purpose is to augment your Eromancy and offer guidance as you master the powers of the Rod of Eronis. I would make a poor sorcery teacher."

Too many questions. Evie pressed her forehead into her hands, trying to physically come to grips with the wild turn her day had taken. "What is--wait, you can't talk to the Keepers? You said I was the first Bearer since the 1800s. Am I the first person you've talked to intwo hundred years?"

Eronis made a placating gesture. "You are, Lady Bearer, though I promise I have not passed the time idly!"

"I don't care--" Evie stopped herself. Everything she said seemed to upset the ancient man, and their emotional bond was starting to affect her. Excited as she was to get to some actual magic, she felt a bone-deep certainty that Eronis was now a central figure in her life. Best to be patient and handle their relationship delicately. She cleared her throat, continuing in the soothing voice she used when a student was feeling overwhelmed, "I meant that's a long time to sit around waiting, and I'm clearly not what you expected. It seems like there's a lot Jasmine didn't tell me, so let's get some simple things out of the way. Sound good?"

Evie let out a slow breath when Eronis nodded. "Okay, so, tell me about yourself," she said. This wasn't the most uncomfortable first date she'd had, but it was close.

"Of course, Lady Bearer. I am Eronis, avatar of the Rod of Eronis." He looked at Evie as though the name and title would mean anything to her this time. At her shrug, he elaborated. "The Rod of Eronis is one of five Relics of the Sorcerous Council, an artifact of immense power and the masterpiece of Eronis the Irresistible." He puffed his chest, gaining confidence. Evie could hear the capital letters in what she assumed were important names. "The sorcerer Eronis was the greatest Eromancer of his era. I was created in his image, an echo to persist through the ages."

One of the details Eronis had repeated finally struck home. Evie picked up the sex toy she had borrowed from Jasmine's collection. "Avatar of the Rod...do you mean the dildo? You live in a dildo?" The absurdity was too much. A quaver of laughter snuck into the question.

"The Rod of Eronis, as with all Council Relics, may change its shape to suit the needs of its Bearer." His eyes flitted nervously to the toy, and he continued haltingly, "Its true nature encompasses a great deal more than its physical state. I am an imprint of my creator, bound to the artifact and any who wield it."

"Like a genie?" Another subtle pulse of nerves.

"Yes and no, Lady Bearer. Most jinn are free spirits. The beings you speak of are magically linked to physical vessels that are both shelter and prison." He paused again, closing his eyes in concentration. It sounded like he was trying to quote from memory. "Possession of the vessel confers mastery over the creature within; to hold such a jinn's container is to wield its power as your own. Unlike a bound jinn, I choose my master and have no existence beyond the Rod. Avatar and artifact are a single entity, indivisible."

"So, you don't live in the dildo, youarethe dildo?" Evie asked. Prepared for his reaction, she tried reflecting the tense feeling that came from Eronis back toward him. His eyes widened, pupils dilating, and sweat broke out on his forehead. Maybe reflecting was a mistake.

"The Rod is one of the greatest magical artifacts ever created, I swear it's more than a fake cock!" he pleaded, then clapped a hand over his mouth. Panic radiated from their bond. Rather than turning it back on Eronis, which seemed to amplify the emotion, Evie imagined waves crashing against the surf and washing out to sea. The feelings bled away and he lowered his hand.

"Lady Bearer, I must once again apologize for my outburst. Please understand I intended no disrespect--"

Evie spoke over him, and he immediately quieted. "Eronis, relax. No more apologies." She leaned forward and took his hand in her own. How did she end up comforting the dildo-genie? It occurred to her she should be freaking out, yet somehow, she knew Eronis wasn't a hallucination and wasn't going to hurt her. His anxiety and stumbling formality were a touch pathetic, but hardly threatening. And he belonged with her. It wasn't trust or comfort, precisely, more like he was part of her. She didn't spend time thinking about why her arm was attached to the rest of her body, it just was. The apparition in the conjured chair was the same--a piece of herself.

She studied Eronis, trying to wrap her head around the situation. He sat rigidly, tension evident in the hands clenched on his thighs and his tight, manic smile. Light brown eyes tracked her movement, occasionally flitting around the room. He had dark bronze skin and narrow, angular features. His handsome face possessed an air of nobility only slightly spoiled by the uncertainty floating at the top of his consciousness. He wore a fine linen robe with gold fasteners and a wide belt. The loose fabric shifted even as he sat still, revealing a toned physique, and Evie caught herself staring.

She also realized she was still holding his hand, and she was naked and leaking cum. She didn't feel exposed, but it struck her as odd to be so comfortable with a stranger (and such a stranger) so quickly. The idea that a magic dildo inhabited by the manifestation of an ancient sorcerer had finished inside her would have been shocking--and titillating, a quiet part of her mind whispered--but it was surprisingly far down the list of the day's bizarre happenings. She shook her head, forcing herself to look away as Eronis adjusted his legs, emphasizing his bulge. Focus.

"Right. Basics. You're connected to Jasmine's di--the Rod as its avatar. Does that make you its...mind? Soul?"

"You may think of me as the artifact's mind, Lady Bearer."

"And you're modeled after a master sorcerer who lived a few hundred years ago?" Magic or not, Evie imagined the artifact's age alone made it extremely valuable.

"Eronis the Irresistible created the Rod in the year 148 BCE."

Evie reconsidered the phallus, incredulous. "You're twothousandyears old?" she sputtered. Eronis shrugged. "Is that why you speak like you do?"

The tension underlying so many of Eronis's answers rose again, and he stammered, "H-how do you mean, Lady Bearer?" He cast about as though looking for support, swallowing between each word. "Is my f-form of address displeasing, my Lady?"

The bond between them shook with Eronis's fear, strong enough that Evie could physically feel it. She visualized waves rolling out to sea, hoping to calm the avatar as she had before, but he clung to his terror. Or rather, it clung to him. She focused on the bundle of emotions in her mind, homing in on that pulsing sense of horror. It resolved into an unsteady rhythm. Evie let the fear envelope her, searching for its source. Sweat beaded on her forehead, slicked her palms. She tried to swallow and nearly gagged, her mouth dry. Eyes squeezed shut, Evie clenched her fists in concentration. She had no idea what she was doing, but somehow knew it was important. The artifact was compromised and it was her duty to fix it.

Eronis's dread suffused her as Evie was caught in the syncopated vibration. An ethereal rope of pure command wrapped around her, cinching her mind. She was overcome with the urge to serve, to submit. The rope tightened, pulling her consciousness away from Eronis and toward the artifact itself. The need to obey enveloped her, just as it had with her visions of the Creeper earlier that morning.

Heart pounding, Evie sought refuge in deep and steady breaths. She shut out the buzzing of Eronis's thoughts, closed her ears to his increasingly frantic voice. She let go of her soreness and discomfort, ignored Eronis's hands clenched in her own. Evie felt herself floating, imagining a space empty of everything but the irregular thrum of fear and her rhythmic breathing. On each inhale, she pulled the fear into her, and on the exhale, pushed it back out. The rope loosened around her, and the pull toward the artifact slowed.

Minutes passed. Every breath sapped her energy, but she kept at it, stabilizing the wayward beat and drawing the wrongness out of the Rod. The ache in her chest built dramatically, gnawing at the edge of her focus. Eventually, the unwelcome emotion evened out, synchronized with her breathing. Evie felt something dissolve within Eronis--a snarl coming undone--and at last, he calmed. The compulsion relented. The rope went slack, and she saw that it was one of several connecting Eronis the avatar to his artifact, like a ship moored at dock. She despaired at the presence of other tangles in those bindings, inert for the moment but beyond the limits of her endurance to remove. The void wavered and Evie's consciousness slipped away.

"You okay, boss?"

Evie blinked. She stared blankly at the ceiling, cataloguing the various aches that had reappeared from this morning. So far, she had lost control of her limbs and smacked her head on a wall, worked out for two hours, fucked herself with a magic dildo, and done...something...with the dildo's inner consciousness. Busy day.

"Boss?"

Groaning, Evie sat up. Being upright was preferable to lying in clammy bedding, if at the cost of aggravating her headache. She rubbed her chest and winced. Eronis stood over the bed with an expression half worried, half thrilled. "What the hell was that?" Evie asked, clearing her scratchy throat.
