Evie Awakened Ch. 03
Welcome back to Evie Awakened. This chapter takes us away from the relative safety of Jasmine's home, with new revelations about Evie's powers and enemies, as well as a new friend who will shake up her life in ways even our horny sorcerer couldn't expect. Overall, this chapter is lighter on sex than the last, focusing more on action (including some nonsexual violence and suggestion/mind control) and plot. Contains FF. Next chapter will have MF and MFF, in case that interests you. Writing this story has been incredibly fun and I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am.
Chapter 3: A Walk in the Park
"We could shower together, you know. That would be quicker." Evie lifted her left foot and tucked the heel against her thigh, straightening into tree pose. Afternoon sunlight filtered through the canopy of maple leaves outside the second-story bedroom and glinted off the rich copper of her messy bun. She hadn't bothered to dress after the tryst with her best friend and the position emphasized her tall, lithe form.
Kelly, studiously typing on her tablet and outfitted in her typical light hoodie and sweatpants, waved off the incorrigible redhead. "Recording my observations while they're fresh is more important than cleanliness." Her eyes flicked up from the screen and her typing slowed. "Until we find a sorcery instructor, experimentation is our only means to understand your abilities." The short, busty woman shifted in her seat on Evie's bed. Her attention slid from the screen back to Evie.
Green eyes sparkling with mischief, Evie turned and bent at the waist to flaunt her shapely ass. Round, full, and toned by years of diligent exercise, Evie's exquisitely sculpted rear stood out on her otherwise slender frame. With her forehead pressed to the floor, she couldn't see Kelly, but she smiled at the sudden absence of keyboard sounds. Straightening slowly, gratuitously flexing her glutes, she looked over her shoulder toward the bed. "I thought you were taking notes," she said innocently.
"You're distracting me. If you're in a such hurry, why waste time stretching?" The impact of Kelly's glare was blunted by her inability to look away from Evie's display. Thighs pressed together, Kelly squirmed in her seat again.
Heat bloomed in Evie's belly. A small voice in her mind tried to point out the absurdity of getting so easily aroused a scant twenty minutes after her eighth orgasm of the day. This same voice nagged her to clean up and deal with some forgotten responsibility, but the larger, hornier part of her brain won out. Surely, anyone who needed her would send a text.
Evie crawled onto the bed and loomed over her friend. "One, everyone should stretch before and after physical activity. It's never a waste of time." She prised the tablet from Kelly's grip and set it on the bedside table. "Two, I didn't make you stare at my butt. You could have kept working on your sorcery spreadsheet, but you wanted to ogle me instead." She planted a swift kiss on the tip of Kelly's nose to soften her teasing. "And three, who says I'm in a hurry? I'm on summer vacation. No tutoring all week except with Paige, and that barely counts. Jasmine's gone for a month and I have her whole house to myself." Evie slid a finger under Kelly's chin, tilting her head up so their lips were nearly touching. "You like to be efficient, but we could still share the shower and take our time. Wash each other, clean all those hard-to-reach places." Her tongue brushed against Kelly's lips and she smiled at her friend's tiny moan. "Or we could just stay in bed all day. How about I go down on you for the rest of the afternoon?" She breathed her last thought into her friend's ear, "What do you say, Kelz? No one has ever made me come like you. I'm a quick learner. Teach me how to eat pussy?"
Kelly shivered at the light touches. She closed her eyes, unable to hold Evie's hungry gaze. "You're already quite proficient," she said shakily.
"More practice can't hurt," Evie whispered.
Kelly took a deep, steadying breath. She protested with a groan, "Jodi called earlier. She needs help with her router." On top of community college courses and caring for her great aunt, Kelly worked as a bookkeeper for a friend of Evie's mom. She was usually able to work remotely with flexible hours, but occasionally, her boss roped her in for tech support or other odd jobs.
"Tell her to plug it in, that's the problem literally every time," Evie said. She swiped her tongue playfully at Kelly's ear. "Sleep here tonight." Evie opened her mind to the new sense provided by her sorcery and embraced her aether. A sweet violin played in an orderly cadence, resonating with the pool of magic energy in her core. Evie listened for subtle changes in the silent song, picking out the tone corresponding to Kelly's sensitive earlobe. Her aether danced in time with the high, lively notes, and Kelly melted beneath her.
After a minute of gentle teasing, Kelly rallied and pushed Evie away. "I can't. Jodi invited me to stay for dinner as well, and I need to be home with Tía tonight."
Evie sat back and let the strains of Kelly's song fall away. "Alright, tomorrow then. Come over any time and spend the night with Marcus and me."
"He won't mind if I crash your sleepover?"
Evie snorted. "I doubt it, sometimes I think he'd rather hang out with you than me -- you can actually talk to him about gaming." She leaned forward again and dropped her voice. "Besides, it's not crashing if we make it a threesome. I was serious when I offered to share. Think about it." She paused to capture Kelly's wide grey eyes. "Think about how his cock will taste covered in my juices. Think about how he'll feel, stretching you out and filling you up. Think about us going down on you together, slurping at your pussy and teasing your cute little asshole." Spiky notes of need filled Kelly's song. The short woman bit her lip to hold back a whimper and Evie broke into a wolfish grin. "Or we could watch a movie or something," she added casually. "Nothing is more important to me than you, Kelz. Sex or no sex, our friendship comes first. I was serious about that, too."
Evie pulled Kelly into a tight hug, letting go before her lust could get the better of her. She scooted to the edge of the bed and checked her phone for the first time in hours. Aside from an alarming number of texts, she was surprised to find several missed calls and voice mails. She skipped her mom's message -- smart money said it was a butt dial -- and deleted three scams and a solicitation from a wheezy old lawyer. Hoping momentum would carry her through, she opened her texts and started reading.
Several messages into a thread of her roommates bickering, Evie's thoughts drifted from college drama back to her own lingering worries. She flopped back on the bed, snaking under Kelly's arm to rest her head in her friend's lap. "So, Jas goes on vacation, same as she does every summer -- no phone, no email, just an address in Haiti -- and all she tells me is to check out her sex toy collection. Once she's safely on the plane and out of contact, I find out magic is real and she's actually a sorcerer and custodian of a sentient dildo that's one of the most powerful magical artifacts ever created. Oh, and I'm also a sorcerer and the dildo's chosen one?" Tight bands of stress closed around Evie's lungs as she recounted the morning's events. "Why didn't she just talk to me, or at least leave a letter or something?"
As though sensing her distress, Dr. Boots left his perch on the dresser and hopped onto the bed, nuzzling against Evie's side. He meowed contentedly as she scratched his chin. The clacking of Kelly's keyboard and the gentle purr of Jasmine's cat were welcome distractions from her churning uncertainty. She wanted to be excited about her newfound magic, but the overlapping questions of who to trust with this secret and how to find a sorcery teacher weighed on her enthusiasm. Beneath it all lurked the likelihood that the frightening figures of her recent nightmares, green-haired Sabira and the man she called the Creeper, may also be real. How was she supposed to protect herself from someone who could enter her dreams and take control of her limbs? The only sorcery she had managed so far was giving herself a temporary coat of sunscreen and making Kelly come.
She really enjoyed making Kelly come, of course. Shaking off her worry over problems she couldn't solve, at least for the moment, Evie found herself watching her friend again. Kelly's lips moved and she tilted her head as she argued internally over some detail in her notes. She seemed to reach a decision and stuck out her tongue in concentration, the tip barely emerging from her straight, perfect teeth. Lucky.
"You're staring," Kelly said, still tapping away at her tablet.
"I'm thinking." No need to tell Kelly she was mostly thinking about kissing her.
"She wouldn't give you an impossible challenge."
"Uh...?" Evie asked, not following.
"Jasmine left you a difficult set of circumstances, but we have reason to believe she intended you to inherit the Rod of Eronis and awaken as a sorcerer. I doubt she would provide you with nothing else. You should take any opportunity to explore both your abilities and any clues or resources Jasmine may have left behind. I'm nearly finished cataloguing our initial observations and will record the results of further experiments with likely conclusions, so at least I can contribute in some way."
"Just being here to keep me sane is the most helpful thing I can imagine."
"I'm sure you will reassess once you review the document, but thank you." Kelly looked intensely into Evie's eyes. A tiny flutter sounded in her song as she said, "I'll always be here for you."
Evie tried to dismiss the statement and plan her next move, but for some reason she felt a flutter of her own, deep in her belly. Kelly raised a good point. She needed to figure out what she could do with the information she had. Moping would accomplish nothing. "You're the best, Kelz. And you're right, Jas wouldn't drop this on me with no help," Evie conceded. "But it still doesn't explain why she didn't justtell me," she said with a huff, waving her hands vaguely in the air. She rolled onto her side, which (definitely unintentionally) pressed her face into Kelly's soft breasts.
"Perhaps Ricky is aware of Jasmine's secret. You should broach the topic cautiously, but he's worked for her for several years and may have some insight," Kelly offered. It was a good idea -- Ricky was discreet, and he spent more time with Jasmine than anyone -- but Evie once more felt like she was forgetting something important. Kelly added, "He texted me when you missed your appointment. I only saw the message a few minutes ago, but I assured him we were wrapping up and you would join him shortly."
Shit. She was supposed to meet with Ricky at two o'clock to go over his schedule for the next month. Fuck! She was over an hour late, and unless he forgot his key to Jasmine's house or was suddenly struck deaf, he knew exactly what she'd been doing. Evie was many things in bed, quiet not among them.
"Kelz, why didn't you say something earlier?" Evie asked, dislodging herself from Kelly's comfortable bosom. She hopped out of bed and bent over to pick up her discarded leggings.
"I assumed you would check your phone and see your own messages." Kelly dropped her gaze. "You decided to stretch instead."
"Not your fault, sorry," Evie sighed. She grabbed the first shirt she could find then paused to look back at her friend. "Unless you were too busy watching me? Staring at my naked body, imagining how it would feel pressed against you?" Ricky momentarily forgotten, she took a step back toward the bed. Kelly nodded jerkily and Evie grinned. "Glad you enjoyed the show."
With an audible gulp, Kelly said, "You should go speak to Ricky."
Dammit, just the thought of sex completely derailed her. "Fine, fine. Thanks, Kelz." Evie swooped down to kiss her friend on the forehead and bounded downstairs, pausing in the kitchen to give Dr. Boots his long-awaited salmon treat. She glanced at the clean towels stacked next to the patio door, towels she was sure she and Kelly had left crumpled on a deck chair by the pool. "It's a magic house that does your laundry," she muttered, refusing to let herself get distracted. Rich, feminine laughter tickled the back of her neck as she resolutely moved on. One mystery at a time.

Enrique Vega sat motionless in Jasmine's garden. His posture in the lounge chair suggested he could sit comfortably for the next hour or spring into action at the barest provocation. Evie idly wondered how she snuck up on him (and how she knew exactly where to find him), but she chalked it up to a combination of her own natural grace and familiarity with Jasmine's property. She stepped into the garden, avoiding a fallen twig and scattered mulch chips without conscious effort, and cleared her throat.
Ricky's eyes snapped into focus. He came smoothly to his feet and a rapid series of guitar chords thrummed against Evie's aether. Alert. Decision. Calm. His song quieted as he greeted Evie with a respectful nod. "Miss Zeller."
Despite her embarrassment at her tardiness, Evie couldn't help but slip into her usual teasing. "Mr. Vega," she returned, "When was the last time someone managed to surprise you?" She might have missed the frown that briefly creased his brow if not for the aggrieved twang in his song.
"A while ago, ma'am," he said, and declined to explain further.
Evie stepped closer and laid a hand on his arm. "Since when am I 'ma'am'? That's your special name for Jasmine. How sad would she be to come home and find out I replaced her in your heart?" she asked playfully.
Ricky met her gaze with a stony look. Neither his face nor the smooth tenor of his voice betrayed any emotion, and Evie found it increasingly difficult to read meaning in his song. Ricky's guitar seemed muted, almost imperceptible between the sharp instants of reaction. Overall, his song sounded quieter than Kelly's, the background melody of his guitar somehow thin where her violin was complex and robust. There were too many possible explanations to guess, and she filed away the observation to add to Kelly's document.
"Did you read my texts?" he asked.
"No, I was going through my phone, but I got distracted and then, uh, remembered you were waiting." Color crept into Evie's cheeks. Ah, there was the hot shame. "Sorry for being so late. I was...hanging out with Kelz."
"No need to apologize, ma'am, I operate on your schedule. I worked for Miss Duvergier long enough to expect the occasional delay." He gestured at the wicker chairs. "May we sit?"
Evie dropped into the lounger, grateful for Ricky's easy forgiveness. It made sense he would be used to missed appointments. Evie could be a bit absentminded, particularly when she was horny (and she was usually horny), but she had nothing on Jasmine. Ricky's near-pathological punctuality was the only reason Jasmine arrived anywhere on time. Theirs was an odd professional relationship, but it worked well for both of them. Wait, why did he use the past tense?
"What do you mean you 'worked for' Jas?" He frowned again and she pressed, "Ricky, what's going on? Did you quit? Oh god, did Jas fire you?"
The stocky man held up a hand to forestall Evie's concern. "No, ma'am. I told Ms. Duvergier she should-" He cut himself off with a sheepish look, perhaps the first time Evie had seen him contrite. But then, she'd never heard him criticize anyone, let alone Jasmine, either. When he continued, his voice lost its practiced calm. His lisp was stronger and the accent he took pains to hide colored his pronunciation. "Look, I don't know most of the details and I'm not great with words. Permission to speak freely?"
"Of course," Evie said. She had seen Ricky lose his cool exactly once, and it had taken very specific circumstances and well-timed teasing for Evie to pull it off. Even this slightly rougher tone was startling.
"Just to make sure we're having the same conversation, you're like Miss D., right? You're a..." he wiggled his fingers as though casting a spell and thrust his hips.
"A sorcerer, or an Eromancer? Yes to both," Evie confirmed.
Ricky grunted his thanks. "Got it. I'm not, but I've met a few people like you and her. It's why she hired me, to keep her safe when she got in over her head with your kind. I had some experiences in the service..." He trailed off and took a steadying breath. Evie picked out a slow, even rhythm in his song that matched his heartbeat, carefully and professionally controlled. "Job's easy, most of the time. Driving, taking Miss D. to client visits. A lot of rushing through traffic and waiting in the car. She's a collector, always on the hunt for rare antiques, so I got sent all over picking up her purchases between her appointments." He fell silent.
"I know all that," Evie said gently. "Jas explained when she hired you -- she didn't want an armed stranger showing up out of nowhere and making my parents uncomfortable. And she's always been an avid collector. Her walls were covered in weird old shit from around the world way before she met you."
"Art's most of it," Ricky conceded. "But that's just a hobby. Every now and then it's something else. A book or a knick-knack or something..."
"Magical?" Evie prompted.
He grunted again and continued, "Yeah. The books and the other junk, she always said those were for the Bearer. Then this morning, she told me that's you. Had me pull over on the way to the airport to explain she was retiring and leaving everything to you. My salary's covered for the next year, and you can decide after that if you want to keep me around."
Evie sat back, absorbing. She wasn't the only one Jas kept in the dark; it was a surprise to poor Ricky, too! Frustration bubbled in her gut. "Why not tell me? Why spring it on you out of nowhere?" she asked, an angry edge in her voice.
"Said she didn't want you repeating her mistakes. Not my job to question her," Ricky answered with a shrug. "Anyway, I'm your bodyguard now. I own my own gear, but the car belonged to Miss D. It's probably yours now, too. She didn't ask for the keys. You've got my cell, call or text any time day or night and I'm there. I can move in if you want -- there's a spare room in the house Miss D. kept for me. I like my apartment, but it's your call. Obviously, I can't get in or out of the house after dark."
"You'd move in, just because I asked?" Evie asked, reeling. "What about Val?" Valeria Simmons, Evie's close friend and Ricky's fiancée, might have something to say about her partner abandoning her to bunk with Evie.
"It's the job. She'd understand." An uncharacteristic quaver in Ricky's voice suggested he didn't fully believe his own matter-of-fact response.
"I wouldn't do that to her. You're welcome to the guest room as long as I'm housesitting -- and so is she -- but only if you want to stay here. It's not like we're hurting for space." Jasmine's house could accommodate several families and most of its rooms sat unused by its single resident. "Wait, does Val know about Jas?"
"No, ma'am, and I'll ask to keep it that way. She knows Miss D.'s more than just a therapist, but nothing specific. Don't take this the wrong way, but us regular folks aren't meant for your world. The less she knows, the better." He took another calming breath. "Miss D. kept it to the facts I needed to protect her. You should do the same."
Evie tilted her head at the request. "You want me to keep secrets?"
"I was a soldier. I keep you safe, and you point me in the right direction. The less you tell me, the less I can give up under questioning. I don't like surprises, but I can't say Miss D. ever steered me wrong before."
