Sisterhood 101 Ch. 07
Hey everyone, here's Chapter 07 of Sisterhood 101. This series should be considered a direct sequel to Birthday Pool Party. However, it is my hope that it can also be read as a standalone work. Having already read Birthday Pool Party will greatly enhance the experience, but it shouldn't be required. I hope you enjoy! Comments and feedback are always appreciated! I read every single one. Also, please let me know if you spot any mistakes. I upload revisions all the time, and I will correct any errors that are pointed out to me. Just make sure to be specific so that I can find what you're talking about.
I'm trying to catch Sisterhood up with Love in the Balance before continuing with that story. I have a few other projects I'd like to get out as well. Sorry it's been so long for Love in the Balance. I intend to correct that issue soon.
Please note that this story is a work of fiction. I might use parody names for pop culture references: including songs, books, movies, and celebrities. However, they are not meant to accurately represent the real people or media. This is a fictional universe. As always, this is a world without STI's, and everyone involved in sexual activity is at least eighteen years old.

WARNING: I write slice of life stories, but they touch on some serious topics. As a result, there's a lot to offer, but there's also things some might not like. This story contains elements of incest and it touches on sexual assault. If any of that is going to be a problem for you, you might want to consider a different story. Additionally, the women in this story tend to be very sex positive, if you're not interested in a woman being with anyone but one guy forever... why are you reading a group sex story?

The sky was already starting to dim when we got to the airport. People rushed by with rolling suitcases, announcements echoed overhead, while the smell of coffee and overpriced fried food drifted through the air. It felt strange; too normal after what had happened during the week.
Scarlett Vaughn and her younger brother Rory would not be joining us for the game against Northern Arizona University. Drew Kensington had recovered enough for some game time, but he would probably play half of the game at most. Injuries, gang issues, and I had my first meeting with the ADA. Yeah, I was ready to get away from Ashwood for a short trip.
I adjusted the strap of the bag on my shoulder and turned back. Daddy was a few steps away, hands in his pockets as watched me with a small smile. This wasn't New York; I would only be gone a day. Still, I would miss him. I knew he would miss me too, but he just looked proud as he looked at me.
Lexi wasn't nearly as composed.
"You're seriously ditching me on my birthday," she grumbled, crossing her arms. "Unbelievable."
I smiled faintly. "It's not my fault the schedule hates you."
"It's absolutely your fault," Lexi shot back with a reluctant smile. "You could've faked an injury. People do it all the time."
"Yeah, that would go over great," I replied dryly. "First away game of the season and I just, what? Pull a hamstring getting out of my car?"
"Say you got hit by a car," the redhead shrugged. "Go big or go home."
"I am going home," I giggled. "Just... not tonight."
Lexi made a face, then stepped forward and wrapped her arms around me without another word. I was briefly caught off guard before the emotions caught up with me. I hugged her back tightly, rubbing her back reassuringly as my face buried in her sweet-smelling red hair.
"You better win," she muttered into my shoulder. "I'm not missing you and watching you lose."
"There's only so much I can do," I laughed. "I'll cheer my heart out for them."
"If they fuck up, I expect you to tap in and show them how it's done," Lexi informed me.
"I'll do my best," I said.
"Do better than that."
I laughed quietly as I pulled back. Daddy stepped in for a hug next. His arms were so familiar, so comforting. It had been a while since he told me a story or since we cuddled. Too long since we had truly expressed our love. I held him tightly, my head pressed against his chest as I breathed in his comforting scent.
"You good?" he asked quietly enough for it not to carry.
I nodded. "Yeah."
He kissed the top of my head before pulling back slightly, still holding me. "I'm proud of you."
"It's just cheerleading," I giggled.
Daddy shook his head. "Not just for that. For everything."
"Thank you," I smiled softly.
"You're welcome," he kissed my forehead before releasing me. "I love you, baby girl."
"I love you, too," I replied, something in my chest loosening.
"Call us when you land. Focus on the game," Daddy advised. "Everything else will be here when you get back."
"Oh, and give me the details if you decide to join the mile high club," Lexi interjected.
"There's only one dick I'm interested in right now," I looked to Daddy and bit my lower lip. "One that isn't coming with me."
"We'll see you Sunday," Daddy reached out and squeezed my shoulder.
"Win," Lexi pointed at me.
"I'll try."
"Win," she repeated.
Security was routine. Shoes off, remove all jewelry, bag and purse through the scanner. Quick smile for the TSA agent while going through the metal detector. Then move on. It was simple, but the long lines were why we were all advised to come to the airport two hours early.
The football team and cheer squad had already gathered at the gate when I got there. There were clusters of red and black, overnight bags everywhere as voices overlapped. Very normal. I dropped into an empty seat by the window, letting out a long breath as I struggled not to overthink.
Ashley was still fighting with Melissa, who was grounded along with all her friends. Kelsey was still reeling from the party, and would probably never go out again. Scarlett Vaughn had been attacked, her brother had been jumped. Several arrests weren't enough to ease my anxiety.
"Is this seat taken?" a male voice asked.
I looked up into the smiling face of every woman's fantasy. He was well above six-feet in height and incredibly muscular. His blond hair was perfectly-styled and his blue eyes were only enhanced by the cute dimples his smile produced. Yes, I remembered him quite well.
"Go for it," I offered.
"Thanks," he smiled, taking the seat beside me. "So, ah, I'm not sure if you remember..."
"I remember, Mike," I said, facing the football player with an arched eyebrow. "Or did you think I hookup with so many guys that I'd forget half of them?"
"No, no!" Mike Crawford quickly backtracked. "I didn't mean that at all. I just, I wasn't sure. I'm sorry."
"Nothing to apologize for," I giggled. "I went to a party with my friend Brittney. You and your buddy Brad picked us up."
"I'm glad you remember," Mike told me. "That was a very memorable night."
"It was," I nodded slowly, remembering Mike was the first guy I willingly let do me up the butt. "But I was going through a really difficult time in my life and was spiraling."
"I'm not trying to pick you up again or anything," he said quickly. "Sorry, of course you'd think that. I just wanted to say hi."
"Well, 'hi' to you, too," I grinned. "How are you?"
"I'm alright," Mike made a face.
"That wasn't convincing," I gave him a look.
"That party was pretty intense," he shrugged. "You obviously remember Brad. There was another party recently where he hooked up with Mandy. Then she, ah..."
"The murder, I remember," I responded with a wince.
"Sorry, shouldn't have dumped that on you," Mike sighed. "And I know other words besides 'sorry,' I swear."
"I believe you," I smiled. "Don't worry about it. Things have been crazy lately. How about the two of us relax as friends and talk about the exciting weekend we're looking forward to?"
"Sounds perfect," he inclined his head.
We chatted for a bit, getting to know each other. It was nice that he seemed genuinely interested in me; Mike wasn't acting like I was just a hot body he'd scored with. I regretted the way I had acted after my assault, but I was happy to learn that Mike was a good guy. Romance wasn't on my mind, but he'd make a good friend.
Once on the plane, I moved slowly down the aisle as people put their bags in the overhead compartments. We took up most of the plane, with football players closer to the front. I found my seat in the row behind the last of the players. It was a window seat, making it slightly less difficult to get comfortable.
"Hey, sorry. This is me," a quiet female voice said.
Harper Lin was a pretty Chinese-American woman with black hair that faded into purple at the ends. The only other freshman on the cheer squad made an amazing flier, partly due to the fact that she was so petite. She had the same travel gear as everyone else, and I could see the intense focus in her gaze. I didn't know her well, but we all knew Harper was incredibly observant.
"No need to apologize," I smiled as she put her Phoenixes bag in the overhead compartment. "Please."
"Thanks," Harper slid into the seat beside me and slid her purse under the seat. "We're rooming together at the hotel."
"Looks like they sat us together here, too," I said with a smile.
Harper looked at me, studying me for longer than most people would have. "You land slightly forward on your right foot when you dismount."
"I- what?" I blinked.
"It's subtle," she added simply. "You correct it before the next count, so it doesn't throw anything off. But it is there."
"You... you noticed that during the routine?" I asked.
"Yes," Harper nodded.
"That's mildly terrifying," I smiled.
"It's efficient," she shrugged.
I let out a small laugh before I could stop it. "Good to know."
She nodded once, satisfied, like that explained everything. Harper started scrolling on her phone while I glanced around the plane. Most people were seated, getting comfortable for the flight. Dan was a one row ahead, across the aisle. His arm was wrapped from the cut he received at the party. My eyes lingered, watching him talk to another one of the guys.
The doors of the plane closed, bringing us closer to takeoff. People started putting on their seat belts as the engine hummed to life. Harper moved beside me, placing her phone in the mesh pocket in front of her. She then leaned her head back as she settled in.
"I'm probably going to sleep," she said, eyes already closing. "Just so you know."
"Appreciate the warning," I smirked.
"Mm."
She didn't take long to shut herself down. Efficient. Of course.
"Flight time's only an hour-and-a-half," she added, drifting off. "Short."
"Yeah," I responded. Arizona wasn't far, but it was far enough.
Takeoff went smoothly after a brief taxi to the runway. People took out their phones the moment they could, conversation dying down as people turned to electronic entertainment. Harper didn't move beyond adjusting herself to get comfortable for her nap. I glanced out the window and noticed the clusters of lights from the city.
"Kayla?" Dan called out.
I looked over and saw him leaning over in his seat, talking loudly so I could hear him. Fortunately, Harper didn't seem to notice or care.
"Hey, Dan," I replied with a small smile.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"Good," I nodded. "You?"
He shifted slightly. "I've been worse."
My eyes flicked to the bandage on his arm. "Does it hurt?"
"Only when I use it," he chuckled.
I gave him a small giggle. "That sounds inconvenient."
"Just a bit," Dan winced.
"You're really okay to play?" I questioned.
"Yeah, it'll be fine," he insisted. "I won't be playing much anyway. Not with Drew back."
"Well, be careful when you're on the field," I smiled. "I'll be cheering for you."
"Thanks, Kayla," his face split into a wide grin.
Dan gave me a quick nod before turning to talk to Tank Reynolds. At least Dan seemed normal. He'd been attacked, but he was acting like his usual self. I knew he had spoken with Sarah a couple of times about what happened, but she wouldn't give me any details.
"You're both compensating," Harper's voice made me jump.
I turned and saw she hadn't opened her eyes. "What?"
"For injuries," she said quietly. "Him physically. You mentally."
"You weren't asleep?" I stared at her.
"I was," Harper replied. "Mostly."
"That's concerning."
Harper opened one eye just enough to look at me. "Your shoulders have been tense since takeoff."
I shifted slightly without thinking.
"See?" she said, closing her eye again. "Correcting."
"I'm not hurt," I pointed out.
"Not physically," Harper agreed. "But the mental affects the physical more than most people realize."
"And you think I'm mentally injured?" I asked. "Should I be insulted?"
"No, I can just tell you're distracted," she explained. "You're trying not to think about something."
I let out a small laugh. "You always like this?" Direct. Blunt. Accurate.
"Yes."
"Good to know," I smirked and shook my head even though she couldn't see me.
"Patterns are easy to read," Harper continued, adjusting herself in her seat. "You've had a weight on your shoulders from the moment we met at tryouts."
"You can tell all of this from my body language?" I questioned. "I'm impressed."
"More impressed than you should be," she said. "I also listen."
"To what?" I wondered.
"To whispered conversations people think aren't being overheard," Harper shrugged. "Quite a few of our squad mates aren't happy about freshman on the team."
"That one I knew," I nodded slowly. "They think we haven't earned it."
"Correct," she agreed. "They checked up on us. There's nothing that isn't on the internet."
"W-what do you mean?" I stammered.
"I'm telling you all this so that you're not caught off guard," Harper explained. "They know. Rich father, mom passed when you were young, no siblings. They know about the kidnapping and trial. All of them, basically."
"That's not stalker-like behavior at all," I commented with a grimace.
"Most of them sympathize," she continued calmly. "You've convinced them you've earned your spot. Plus, all women can feel the pain of what you went through. At least they should. A few of them? Be careful. They'll use anything against you they can."
"I was not expecting such a heavy conversation," I let out a nervous laugh.
"It's better that you know," Harper said quietly. "And don't worry; you'll be great tomorrow. Your timing's consistent."
"That's reassuring," I smiled, shocked she had moved on so fast.
"It should be."
The flight wasn't long, but it was still a relief to step off the plane. I adjusted my purse as we moved through the small terminal toward baggage claim. Everyone was chatting quietly as we grabbed our bags and headed outside into the darkness. Airport lights stretched across the tarmac, illuminating a few small areas.
The bus ride to the hotel was quieter than I expected. A few people talked, but most didn't. I had chosen a seat halfway back, resting my head lightly against the window as Arizona passed by in scattered lights. Harper sat next to me again, earbuds in as she tapped her fingers lightly against her knee.
"Hey, Kayla?" Rylee Simmons poked her head over the seat in front of me.
"Yes?" I asked the petite flyer. She was a junior, and I knew she felt threatened by my presence.
"Vanessa and I were thinking about something," Rylee grinned, showing off her pearly-white teeth.
"Rylee was considering grabbing a hot football player on the plane to join the mile high club," Vanessa Cruz explained as she appeared over the seat next to Rylee. "Then she said it wasn't possible."
"It's not!" Rylee shook her head, her blonde curls bouncing. "I'm little, and I could barely fit in that stall by myself. Nevermind with six feet of hot guy."
"The bathrooms aren't that big," I agreed. "I don't know how anyone pulls it off."
"That's why we thought of you," Rylee grinned, her green eyes sparkling mischievously. "We regular people only ever get on planes with the small bathrooms. Your dad must have a private jet or something. Ever join the mile high club, rich girl?"
"Some of those planes have private bedrooms so you can sleep the whole way comfortably," Vanessa commented.
"Or fuck the whole way," Rylee nudged the pretty Latina.
"Sorry to disappoint, but no," I giggled, trying to be friendly. "Daddy doesn't have a private plane. We don't fly enough."
"That's a shame," Rylee sighed. "Was hoping for a hot story."
"Sorry to disappoint," I shrugged.
The hotel was what I was expecting. Clean, average, and forgettable. We filed in as a group, grabbing card keys and splitting off into smaller clusters as room assignments were given. It sounded like one floor was for the football players, while the cheerleaders got another. Made sense.
"Kayla, Harper: room 312," Melissa Hart declared, holding an envelope with two card keys.
Stepping off the elevator, I pressed the key card to the door until the lights turned green and the lock clicked open. It was a standard hotel room, with two queen-sized beds, a desk, a dresser, two bedside tables, and a television mounted on the wall. I dropped my bag on one bed while Harper took the other.
We moved around each other without really talking; unpacking just enough to get through the night. Shoes off, phones on the charger, hair ties pulled loose. Normal things. We also pulled out our cheer uniforms and hung them up to try reducing any wrinkles.
"You're quieter now."
I glanced over to where Harper was sitting on her bed, one leg tucked beneath her. She was watching me like she'd been waiting for the right moment to say it.
"I was quiet on the plane," I pointed out while texting Daddy and the Sluts.
"Externally," she replied. "Not internally. You're more relaxed now."
"Am I?" I arched an eyebrow.
"You stopped shifting your weight," Harper explained. "And you're not adjusting your hands constantly any more."
"It's been a week," I sighed. "Lots of stuff happened. I miss being at home, but it is kind of nice to be away from Ashwood for a bit."
"That makes sense," she nodded.
"Do you ever not analyze everything?" I asked.
"No."
"Good to know," I giggled. "That must make dating a challenge."
"Dating? Yes," Harper nodded, brushing a lock of hair over one ear. "Sex? No."
"Is that so?" I looked at her in surprise.
"There's logic in everything if you know where to look," she explained with a shrug. "Patterns to emotions, desires. Even love."
"Seems like you're taking all the fun out of it," I observed.
"Am I?" Harper challenged. "You need an initial attraction, which can be hard to quantify, yes. However, once you move to the bedroom; then what?"
"Uh, insert tab A into slot B?" I offered, unsure where she was going.
"You communicate," she corrected. "Often wordlessly. We always tell guys to pay attention to our nonverbal signals, but guys have plenty of their own."
"That's true," I nodded, considering her words.
"Even when a person does understand what the other wants, they often get it wrong," Harper smirked. "There's a reason a woman saying 'don't stop, I'm gonna cum,' either causes the guy to cum or change things up because he thinks he can do better."
"We literally tell them not to stop and they still fuck it up," I giggled. "Cumming, I get, but why would they do something different when we tell them what they're doing is working perfectly?"
"People are inclined to think what they'd like is what everyone would like," she shrugged. "Even women. We think we know exactly how a man likes it. That works if the guy just wants you to hold still so he can pound away until he's done."
"Not if he wants you to match his rhythm," I waggled my eyebrows. "Nothing like rolling around just right."
