Thomas and Abby Pt. 01

Part One: The Cabin

Chapter I.

I stepped on the gas pedal as I merged into the right lane. My exit was coming up, and I was on my way to my friend Eddie's cabin where he was throwing a bash to celebrate his promotion at our work. I had known Eddie for about 2 years. We had met at work when I was first hired there a couple of years ago. We both worked on the production line for an automotive manufacturing plant. It was my first job as a stealth trans guy. I had gotten the job just as I had been cleared to go back to work after top surgery, and I was excited to start fresh somewhere new. Eddie had already been working at the plant for 3 years and was a team leader for our section, so he took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. We became fast friends, often hanging out on our days off where we'd drink a lot of beer at the bar or smoke weed and play video games for hours at my place. We were typical 25 year old guys working hard for a living and trying to enjoy our lives whenever we had some time off.

I really enjoyed Eddie's friendship though. He made me feel like a real "guy's guy." I hadn't come out to him because it really wasn't important, but there was part of me that wondered if our dynamic would change if he knew. He didn't exactly strike me as a transphobe, but he could sometimes be a bit pigheaded and dense. Either way, I had no plans to test that theory out, and certainly not this weekend at the cabin. This weekend was about Eddie and his promotion. He was ecstatic because he had been working his ass off for years for it. The role also came with a bonus and a pretty hefty pay raise.

"I'm going to do this right, Tommy," He had said to me later that day after receiving the news about the promotion, "I'm gonna buy me some nice property. Shit, I might even ask Abby to marry me and get her nice ass rock!"

Abby was Eddie's on-again/off-again girlfriend since high school. Abby was a really awesome girl, and she was hot. She had been a gymnast for years and was now an instructor at the very gym she came up in. She had a killer body, long dark hair, and a sweet smile. She was also really smart and funny. The few times I got to hang around the both of them together, it was clear that she was entirely out of Eddie's league. I honestly didn't know why she stuck around for his shit. Eddie was a knucklehead who always seemed to be taking her for granted. They'd be together for months at a time and then Eddie would get a wild hair up his ass and decide he needed to play the field.

"I'm a man, Tommy!" He would say in defense of yet another break up with Abby, "I got my needs. And besides, Abby knows I'm gonna marry her. She's the only girl I love forreal."

I would just shake my head over beers at the bar while I watched him hit on every person with boobs and a pulse. A few times he even ditched me at the bar to hook up in his car with whatever girl was lucky enough to give him any play. I had tried to talk some sense into Eddie on numerous occasions regarding Abby. At one point I told him blankly that Abby wasn't stupid and knew he was sleeping around whenever they would break up. I told him that he was just destroying any trust she'd ever truly have in him down the line, and if he was serious about getting married to her he needed to shape up. Eddie would merely shove me off.

"Listen man, nobody knows me better than Abby," He would say, "And nobody knows her better that I do. She knows my heart. She knows I'm not going anywhere."

"And what if she was out here doing the same thing?" I would ask, "Like what if she had a roster of guys she was fucking every time you called things off?"

I had posed this question to him many times, and each time he had the same answer.

"Nonsense! Abby wouldn't do that. She ain't that kinda girl. She ain't interested in no other dude's junk. I can assure you of that."

Eventually, I just stopped pushing the issue. Afterall, Eddie and Abby's business was theirs and not mine. I enjoyed Eddie's friendship and kept things polite and cordial when I was around Abby. That was good enough for me, even though I did sometimes feel a twinge of guilt knowing just how crappy Eddie was treating her. If I had a girl like Abby, I'd never let her go.

About a week after the news of the promotion Eddie and I were smoking weed out on the balcony of his apartment. He announced that he wanted to do something to celebrate.

"I think I should throw party or somethin" he said puffing on a joint, "Somthin big for the boys to come out and drink and have some fun. I'll have Abby invite a bunch of her friends too so that there's babes at the shindig for you guys."

"You mean you're actually going to invite Abby?" I asked, genuinely curious.

This was definitely one of those situations where normally Eddie would've conveniently broken things off with Abby so that he could be 'single' during his party.

"Yeah man, I love that girl," He said, "I think I'm actually gonna propose to her."

He reached into his pocket and produced a small navy blue box. A ring box.

"I got this a few days ago. This promotion really put a lotta things into perspective for me. It's time to put on my big boy pants and be the man I need to be for her."

I was genuinely shocked. My face must have read as such because Eddie chuckled.

"Well shit, don't look so damn surprised man," He said, pocketing the box again, "I told you she's the girl I'm gonna marry."

Chapter II.

I replayed that conversation in my head as I continued the drive to the cabin. The cabin belonged to Eddie's grandfather. It was his vacation spot off of a nice lake. He mostly used it for weekend fishing trips, but it also served as a nice spot for Eddie's entire family to use whenever. Eddie had floated the idea to his grandfather to use the cabin for his celebration and his grandfather gave his blessing telling Eddie to have fun, do stupid shit, but not anything too stupid.

I looked at my phone's gps on my dashboard. I was about 5 minutes away from the cabin. I was excited for this party. Over the years I had gotten to know a few of the other guys who would be there. There was Dubby, Eddie's childhood best friend. His real name was Richard, but everyone in his family and his close friends called him "Dubby." There was also James and Lucas who were brothers. Eddie met them when he joined rec league hockey a year before I came into the picture. Finally, there was Roger. Roger worked with Eddie and me. I didn't really like Roger. He was kind of a dick to everyone, but Eddie would often say that he was just misunderstood and was actually a great guy. Roger really just rubbed me the wrong way. Luckily, I only ever had to tolerate him on the days where Roger, Eddie and myself were working the same shift and took our lunches together. The party would be nice because there would be other people around and I really didn't have to spend too much time with him if I didn't want to.

I followed my gps around a bend into a thicket of dense trees. The road changed quickly from paved to dirt, and I bumped along it for the last stretch of the trip. I was looking forward to getting there and having a beer and hanging out. Eddie mentioned that Abby was inviting a few of her friends. Last year Eddie threw a surprise party for Abby's birthday that I was invited to. At the party I briefly met a few of these girls, but I couldn't remember anyone's name or even clearly recall anyone's face. They were all conventionally attractive, but Abby was definitely the prettiest girl in the group. I had no intentions of doing anything more than drinking and some innocent mingling with these girls though. I was stealth and I knew getting too friendly with any of them might make them interested enough to want to hook up with me. Which, I was just not ready to have that conversation with any of these girls this weekend.

As I approached the cabin, I was taken aback by how nice it was. Not that I expected it to be run down or anything. It's just that Eddie's family wasn't exactly wealthy or fancy. This cabin though looked pristine with very modern touches. The large driveway was paved and wide enough to allow for several cars to park side by side. I could see a brick walking path leading from the driveway to the back of the house. The front side of the cabin was lined with floor-to-ceiling windows. The door was even painted red.

There were already several cars parked in the driveway, including Eddie's. I was easily able to find a spot to park. Before I could even open my door, I heard Eddie's voice bellowing from the side of the house.

"Yoooo! Tommy, you made it man!"

A second later I saw Eddie walking toward my car. I grabbed my duffle bag from the passenger seat and got out. Eddie was right there in front of me.

"What's up man!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"You're the last one here man," Eddie said, shoving a can of beer to my chest, "You gotta catch up bro!"

I could tell immediately that Eddie had already had a few. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes had that glazed look he gets about him when he is good and sauced. This was going to be an interesting night.

"Come on, drink up Tommy!" Eddie said, clapping me hard on the back, "Party is already good and goin."

I checked my watch. It was barely 6pm. I was certain Eddie had probably been drinking for a few hours now. I guess I did need to catch up. I cracked open the can and chugged the entire can right on the spot.

"Hell yeah!" Eddie said triumphantly, "My man!"

We walked up the brick path and went into the side door of the cabin. My ears were assaulted by loud rap music and laughter. Eddie grabbed my duffle bag from my hand.

"You'll be bunking in the room in the basement. I'll throw your bag in there for you."

"Awesome, thanks man!"

"Of cooourse!" Eddie said, slurring, "Now go catch up to my level. Abby's been pouring shots for everyone. Have her pour up somethin for you."

Eddie disappeared down the stairs into the basement and I walked into the living area. I was greeted by a chorus of drunk people, excited that I had arrived. Abby ran right up to me and pulled me into a hug.

"Thomas! You made it. It's good to see you!" She said.

Her body was warm against mine, and I was able to catch a whiff of her perfume. It made my body tingle. She smelled sweet and a little spicy like chai. When she pulled away from me, I was able to properly see her. She was wearing a pair of running shorts that were super short and tight, showing off her impressive quads from years of doing gymnastics. The shirt she was wearing was oversized, but cut short to expose her midriff.

Fuck, she's so hot.

"It's good to see you too, Abby." I said, smiling, "Eddie told me that you were pouring up shots and getting everyone trashed."

Abby laughed. She was also obviously tipsy.

"He's one to speak!" She smirked, "He's the one pouring up shots and getting himself trashed."

She was not wrong. Eddie was clearly already the drunkest one at his party.

"I suppose I can pour you a shot though, Thomas. Between you and me, I like you the best of Eddie's friends" She said leaning in close so that only I could hear that last part, "Come on, kitchen's this way."

I followed Abby through the living room full of her and Eddie's friends. The guys had set up a beer pong table and were in tense competition while the girls watched on the sidelines. Everyone was excitedly talking to one another. The conversation was punctuated with random exclamations of victory or defeat from the beer pong game. Abby led me into a nice sized kitchen with a huge island in the middle. The Island was littered with shot glasses and empty red solo cups. In the very middle of the island were various bottles of liquor.

"Okay, Thomas...pick your poison." Abby said, gesturing to the liquor.

"Yknow, you can just call me Tommy," I said to Abby, "Thomas is wayy too official. You sound like my parents."

"I like Thomas though," She said, looking at me with a smile in her eyes, "I think it just fits you. Maybe I just think you carry yourself like you're official."

I smiled. That was nice of her to say.

"Okay, then. Thomas it is." I said.

"Great. Now that's it's settled...what do you want to take a shot of, Thomas?"

I looked at my options. It was all super cheap liquor. No doubt this was Eddie's doing. Even though he was about to make some really good money, he was still super frugal. I spotted some Jim Beam out of the bunch. That was at least decent.

"I'll have the Jim." I said, "Make it a double."

"Oooh! Good choice," Abby said, picking up the bottle of Jim, "I'll do a shot with you!"

"Okay, sweet!" I said.

This was the most time I had ever spent alone with Abby. I did really like her personality. She was sweet and she was funny. It was just usually overshadowed by Eddie's boisterous presence.

I watched as she grabbed 3 shot glasses. She filled them each to the brim with the brown liquid.

"You want a chaser? There's beer in the fridge."

I walked over to the fridge right behind her and grabbed a beer. When I closed it she was facing me holding the shots in her hands. I cracked open the beer and grabbed one of the shots.

"Cheers!" Abby said, clanking her shot glass against mine.

We both downed the shots. I immediately took the second shot from her and downed that one too. I felt the brown liquor warm in my chest. I took a hurried gulp of beer. Abby, reached for my beer as well and I handed it over to her. She took a few gulps.

"Whew!" I exclaimed, "Shots are always so rough."

"Tell me about it," She said, "You handled that double like a champ though, Thomas. Very impressive."

She was smiling at me again.

Was she flirting with me?

I quickly pushed that thought from my brain. This was Eddie's girl. This was not the time or place for those thoughts.

"Well thank you," I said, sipping on my beer.

I could feel the shots and the beer that I had downed earlier starting to catch up with me. My body was feeling warm. The lights in the Kitchen were softened. Abby was standing in front of me looking absolutely sexy in those shorts. She was feeling her shot too and looking up at me. I felt my T dick stiffen a little.

Down boy!

"Babe! Where are you?!"

I heard Eddie before I saw him. Abby did too and we both subconsciously backed away from each other putting more distance between us. It was odd. We weren't inappropriately close to one another to begin with. The extra distance seemed to be subconscious plausible deniability.

"You better be pouring me another shot!" Eddie said emerging into the kitchen.

"I was just getting Thomas up to speed." Abby said.

Eddied walked right up to Abby and kissed her on the lips right in front of me. I could see him reach around and squeeze her ass too. I wished that was my hand squeezing her perfect ass.

"Good shit," He said breaking the kiss and turning to me, "How are you feeling, bud? Let's do another round. All three of us!"

"Alright man! Let's do it!" I said.

This time I poured us all shots. We cheered and slammed them down and then passed around my beer as a chaser.

"One more! Then lets go play some pong!" Eddie whooped.

Abby grabbed his arm gently.

"Hey babe, maybe you should slow it down. Maybe another beer first and then a shot in a little bit?"

Eddie snatched his arm away defensively.

"I'm fine, I'm...fiiiiine!" He said, slurring his words, "Besides, it's myyyy party. If anyone is getting trashed, it should be me. Now pour up some shots!"

Abby looked to me. I could tell she wanted me to say something since Eddie wasn't going to listen to her. I knew that he probably wouldn't listen to me either, but it was worth a try.

"Bro, you sure you can handle another one right now? The liquor isn't going anywhere and we got all weekend for shots!" I tried.

Eddie scoffed.

"You both are fucking buzz killers man," He said, grabbing the bottle of Jim, "It's my celebration, so stop being such pussies and take a shot with me!"

He poured 3 more shots, over-filling the second and third shot and spilling it on the countertop.

"Whoops!" He said, "I'll clean that later."

He looked at both of us. Abby looked at me. I wanted to believe that Eddie knew what he was doing. I had definitely seen him this drunk before when we'd go to the bar together. He would get trashed, but was usually able to handle himself decently. I did a quick nod to Abby to reassure her. It seemed to work. She picked up her shot and me and Eddie followed.

"Cheers!" Eddie said.

We clanked our glasses together and slammed the shots.

Chapter III.

About an hour later I found myself settling deep into the couch in the living room of the cabin. The guys were still playing beer pong. This time Eddie had joined them. I was just enjoying the vibes, though I was mildly annoyed with Eddie. He was wasted and belligerent, so I stayed away hoping beer pong would occupy him long enough to sober up some. A few of the girls were in the living room sitting area with me. They chatted excitedly to one another. I remembered two of them from Abby's birthday party. Through the conversation I relearned their names: Jada and Erin. The other two I had never met. They talked about the boys over at the beer pong table. Jada had a thing for Lucas and kept cheering extra loud whenever he scored. All of them seemed to be put off by Roger.

I felt vindicated.

I sipped on another beer as I listened to the girls chat. I was definitely feeling all of the alcohol. I was in a good place though. I was in that lovely space where drunk is teetering on the very edge of wasted. That place where the music sounds better and your body feels warm and tingly. I was also starting to feel very turned on by the energy of the girls around me. They were all cute and wearing clothing that showed off legs and cleavage and midriffs. Maybe I would be open to hooking up with someone after all.

I hadn't seen Abby in a little while. She and one of the other girls had disappeared into the kitchen about 20 minutes ago. I was horny and missed her presence, so in my drunken stupor, I decided to go see her. I walked into the kitchen and saw Abby with a cute, blond-haired girl chatting away. She stopped suddenly when she saw me.

"Thomas! Hey!" She said.

The other girl turned to see me. Her face flushed a little.

Had they been talking about me?

"I can't remember if you've two met each other before," Abby said, "Thomas, this is Ella. She works at the gym with me."

"Hey!" I said extending my hand to shake hers.

"Hey!" she said.

We shook hands awkwardly. Ella seemed nice enough, but I was here to check on Abby.

"You okay in here?" I asked, directing my focus on Abby.

She sighed.

"Yeah, I am. Eddie's just a little too drunk right now and I don't want to be around him."

I felt similarly.

"Yeah...it's his celebration though" I reminded her, "He said he wanted to get wasted."

"I know." She said, "I just wish he was less....annoying."

All three of us laughed. She was right. Eddie was being absolutely annoying. Then, as though we had summoned him, Eddie came barging into the kitchen.

"Where's my favorite girl?" He called out, "My future wifey!"

As soon as he spotted Abby he walked right over to her and kissed her again. This time he didn't hold back. He grabbed her ass and tried to shove his tongue in her mouth. Abby pushed him away gently.

"Not right now babe," The party is still going on.

"I know that, but maybe we can um...sneak away for a bit?"

I'm pretty sure that Eddie thought that he was talking low enough so that neither Ella nor I could hear, but he was too drunk to realize he was actually talking very loudly. Abby kissed his cheek.

"Not right now, maybe a little later though?" She said sweetly. She was trying to let him down easy.
