Marrying Destiny

This is part 10 and the conclusion of my series, Fulfilling Destiny. If you haven't read the other chapters yet I encourage you to.

Destiny lived in pure bliss over the next few days. She was in love and engaged to an incredible man who was clearly just as head over heels for her as she for him. They loved and made love basking in their newfound joy. Destiny and Leo discussed possible wedding dates but hadn't settled on anything concrete just yet. They both agreed that they didn't want to wait too long though. When Destiny had announced her engagement at work no one had been more excited than Lou Anne. She had offered to plan Destiny's wedding if Destiny wanted to accept. She would do it for free, waving her entire fee. Destiny and Leo would just be responsible for all vendor fees. Destiny accepted and hugged her.

But it was just a few days later that Leo told her the magazine wanted to send him out again. This time for eight months. Destiny was surprised and obviously a little sad at the thought of him being gone for so long, but she told him that she knew what she had signed up for and she would support and wait for him.

Leo took her in his arms kissing her. "Thank you, Sweetheart. Your support means everything to me. I'm sorry it's come up faster than we'd hoped. But the good thing is I don't leave for another four months, so we still have plenty of time together. The main question I want to ask is whether you want to get married before I leave or after I return?"

Destiny didn't even have to think about her answer. "I don't want to wait an entire year to marry you. I want to get married before you go, even if it's just a courthouse wedding. The main thing is that I am your wife and you are my husband. The ceremony is unimportant."

Leo kissed her again. "That's all that matters to me too. We'll get married quickly before I leave. If you want a bigger celebration later, then we'll do that. Right now all that matters is being married." Destiny took his hand and led him into the bedroom. I've got a date exactly three months from now. It's a Saturday and every single one of those vendors is available. I've also managed to set appointments at two bridal shops if you are interested. You might have to schedule some meetings with these businesses during working hours, but I don't want you to worry about that. You have been with me since the beginning and are my best employee. The least I can do for you is make sure you get the wedding of your dreams."

Destiny was so touched she stood up and hugged Lou Anne. "Thank you. This means so much to me. I'll take this home and go over it with Leo tonight."

And she did just that. Leo was thrilled that Destiny was going to get the wedding he knew she wanted deep down. After all, she'd been helping others plan their big days, and special occasions for years. It was only fair that she now got the day of her dreams. The reception was magical with the entire room decorated with flowers and tiny lights everywhere. It gave the room a romantic and magical feel. Destiny wrapped her arms around him. "I love you, Leo. Please be safe."

The first few days of Leo's absence were the hardest. Destiny missed him. Missed everything about life with him. She eventually eased back into the routine she'd had before she and Leo got together.
