Arthuriana

After being caught in adultery, Lancelot fights the Knights of the Round Table, refusing to be put in prison for awaiting trial and sentence. He runs off and shelters himself in his castle of Joyous Gard, with his own loyal staff and arms himself, ready to battle whomever will attack. Meanwhile in Camelot, Queen Guenevere is put on trial. She is found guilty and sentenced to death by being burned at the stake. King Arthur is in despair, refusing to see anyone or talk to anyone, locking himself up in his tower room in the castle. The people of Camelot are divided and in conflict. The Round Table is broken during a fight among the knights who are divided on the issue whether they should have forgiven Lancelot and Guenevere for their human frailty. On the day of the execution of Guenevere, Lancelot comes to rescue her, fighting the knights along the way and freeing her from the burning stake.

He takes her with him to his castle of Joyous Gard. The knights of the Round Table declare war on Lancelot and the knights ride toward Joyous Gard to fight Lancelot. Viviana the Lady of the Lake, sensing that things are falling apart in the land, seeks out Merlin and finds him trapped in a crystal inside Morgana's castle. Morgana is not home for she has left to find King Arthur for whom she has plans. Viviana released Merlin from his crystal trap. Morgana transforms herself in a disguise as Guenevere and has sex with King Arthur. When she reveals her true form as Morgana she declares that now Arthur has impregnated her and she carries his illegitimate and unholy son, whom she will make king of Camelot to usurp the throne.
