Arthuriana

Arthur falls into a strange illness after having been corrupted of the flesh from sex with Morgana. Merlin returns to find Arthur attempting to commit suicide by stops him and tells him that now his only hope and salvation is the Holy Grail, the divine and mystical golden chalice of Christ whose blood drops within has the power to heal and restore peace and goodness in the land. Only the Grail can stop Morgana, for if they force her to drink it she will die. Meanwhile, the Knights of the Round Table have lost the battle with Lancelot and failed to break into the castle which has been enchanted by Viviana to save him and the queen. Viviana appears to Lancelot and Guenevere and tells them that for now they must wait patiently, for Galahad, Lancelot's son, will be the true hero to save the land. She and Merlin have sent Galahad, Lancelot's son, to find the Holy Grail. Morgana gives birth to a son, Mordred, who, under the power of darkness, grows up into manhood in only two days. Now she prepares him and her Knights of the Crescent for one final decisive battle to take Camelot. Galahad finds the Holy Grail with the help of Merlin and Viviana in a secluded far off castle on a high mountain. He brings it back to Camelot. Arthur sits with his knights on the Round Table and Arthur drinks of the cup and then passes it on to the knights. They are now both stronger than ever. Merlin tells them that they are now ready to fight the evil army of Morgana, the Knights of the Crescent, and their leader, Mordred, Arthur's evil son, who wants to take over the land. Merlin appears to Morgana in her castle and forces her to drink the Grail cup. She falls down dead in the presence of her son Mordred. Mordred vows revenge and immediately declares war on Camelot. Merlin reappears to tell Arthur that Mordred and the Knights of the Crescent are preparing for battle to take over Camelot now that Morgana is dead. Arthur readies his Knights of the Round Table and rides with them into battle. First he visits Joyous Gard and makes peace with Lancelot telling him he forgives him for his affair with Guenevere. Arthur tells him that he may live for the rest of his life with Guenevere. Guenevere, moved by his words, decides she feels too much guilt to continue living in 'sin' and decides to enter a monastery and become a nun. Lancelot joins Arthur and the knights into battle against Mordred. Merlin goes to the Lake to tell Viviana to prepare to receive the sword Excalibur which will be returned to her very soon. He tells her to wait for the return of King Arthur in the far flung future, for he will die but come back to life. Merlin and Viviana have sex, for Merlin is bidding her farewell. Merlin then travels forward into the future through the centuries to see what th world will be like in latter years and when the best time will be for the return of King Arthur. Meanwhile, in Camlan, by the sea, in the North of England, Arthur, Lancelot, Galahad, and the other Knights of the Round Table meet with the dark army of Mordred, the Knights of the Crescent. The battle breaks out. During the battle, Mordred kills Lancelot. In utter rage for the loss of his friend, Arthur begins to fight hand to hand combat with Mordred using swords. Although Arthur pierces Mordred's heart and kills him, Mordred has also slain Arthur who lays down wounded. Mordred dies. Arthur calls for Galahad to come by his side. He tells Galahad to take his sword Excalibur to the Lake that belongs to Viviana the Lady of the Lake, and to throw the sword into the water. Galahad obeys and throws Excalibur into the waters of the lake. Viviana takes the sword and pulls it down into the lake. Galahad returns to the sea shore where the battle had been fought in Camlan. There he notices that Arthur is missing. When he looks across the waters, just near the horizon, he spots a barge with three beautiful ladies in white gowns and golden crows and Arthur laying down on the boat. They carry him away until they disappear from sight. Camelot has fallen, but Galahad begins to believe that one day Arthur will return.
