Under The Moon And Stars Ch. 23

Chapter 23

Evie couldn't sleep; she just replayed her night with Natti over and over in her mind. She had never felt this good. This alive before. They had a lot to figure out, Natti was right. But she would never let anything stand between her and Natti again. Her soul had finally realized it's perfect match and only death could separate them.

Evie ate an early breakfast and sat in her parlor just waiting for Natti to arrive. She finally heard his steps in the hallway, and the butler announced his arrival showing him inside. She stood to greet him, making everything seem as normal as possible until she heard the butler's steps retreating down the hall. Then she launched herself into his arms kissing him passionately while his arms wrapped tightly around her. Evie threaded her hands through his thick hair as his mouth moved to her neck and his hands gently cupped and squeezed her backside.

"Oh Natti, Natti," Evie whispered as she rubbed her body against his. "I love you," she said again tears beginning to burn in her eyes.

Natti lifted his head from her neck. "I love you too, Darling." They continued to kiss and press their bodies until they were both so worked up, they were panting. Natti finally pulled away saying, "We need to stop or your entire household will be hearing you scream my name."

"Would that be so bad," she asked breathlessly?

Natti groaned, "I don't give a damn what people say, but we do need to consider how gossip could affect your children."

Evie sighed in defeat. He was right. Since her children were away, she hadn't considered how her actions would affect them. Natti had said that they had a lot to discuss and her children were a huge part of that. "We should sit down and talk," she said regretfully. Evie didn't trust herself to sit next to him however, so she chose a chair instead of the settee. She thought Natti would sit across from her but instead he kneeled on the floor in front of her and took her hands.

"First, I want to say, that I love you more than anything in this world. I've loved you since before I can remember and I will love you until my soul leaves my body. I offer you everything I have and everything I will ever have." Natti sighed and looked into her eyes. "Evie, I will protect you with my life and will always strive to make you happy. Will you marry me?"

Evie began to cry. "Yes Natti. Yes, I will marry you. I want to be with you for the rest of my life." She leaned down and kissed him, holding his dear face in her hands.

"I can't believe this is real," Natti said in between kisses. "I thought it my destiny to long for you forever. But last night, Evie, was the best night of my entire life. These last few hours since you told me that you loved me have made me happier than I thought possible. And now that you've consented to be my wife, I know that happiness will last a lifetime."

Evie slid off the chair so that she was sitting on his lap. "I'm so sorry I didn't realize my feelings sooner, Natti. I was expected to marry Alexander, and when I met him, he was so charming and eloquent that I convinced myself I was in love." She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts. "I won't lie, the first few years were happy. But, Natti, what I felt for Alexander even on the best day, pales in comparison to what I feel for you every day."

Evie held Natti close and kissed his cheek. "I realized that I loved you the day you confessed your love and asked me to start an affair with you. I turned you down not because I didn't feel the same way, but because I wanted you to find somebody you could build a life with. I loved you enough to want the best for you Natti."

Natti kissed her passionately, holding her in his arms and dipping her towards the floor. "You are the best Evie," Natti groaned out. His voice was laced with lust and desire. "I would have gladly given up having a wife just to have you in my arms. Even if those arms could only hold you a couple minutes at a time, it would have been worth it."

"I can't wait to marry you, Natti. I want to be yours in every way possible."

Natti sighed. "I feel the same way, but that is still something we need to discuss. You are in mourning and society dictates that you are supposed to remain in mourning for a year after Alexander's death. Doing otherwise could create a scandal."

Evie looked at him fiercely. "I don't care about a scandal. Alexander took 14 years of my life. I'm not letting him have another year after his death. I want to be married to you. You are the man that was created for me. I'm not sacrificing a moment of life with you now that we finally have the opportunity to be together."

"What about your children, Evie?"

Evie smiled thinking about them. "Not waiting a year will create gossip. But I've learned that it lasts for a while and then new gossip takes its place. People have short memories and this won't last long. I don't think it will affect the children. What I do have to consider is their reaction to me getting remarried to anyone. Truthfully, that's the only thing I worry about."

"Then here is what I propose," Natti said. "What if we wait just two more months? That will have us getting married in September. September will be six months since Alexander's death which is at least half a year of mourning. That will also give you and I two months to talk to your children and hopefully have them feeling alright about it."

Evie looked disappointed. "I don't want to wait two months, Natti. I don't want to wait two hours. If it were up to me, we'd elope immediately." Evie paused for a moment thinking about what Natti had said. "But, I do hear the logic in what you are saying, so I'll agree. Two months Natti, but no longer."

"You have no idea how much joy it brings to my heart to hear how eager you are to marry me. I don't want to wait either. But it gives us time to make plans, and figure things out. It's only for two months. Hopefully it'll go by quickly."

Evie suddenly thought of something. "What if I'm pregnant?"

Natti's eyes got wide. Neither of them had thought of that possibility the night before. All they'd thought about was being together. Natti kissed her and said, "Two months isn't long to wait, even if you are pregnant. But, if you discover that you are and want to move it forward, then we will."

"Alright Natti. My parents will be bringing the children home in a few days. I'll talk to the children first, and if they are alright with everything then I can write to my parents later."

"Sounds like a plan," Natti said before kissing her. He held her in his lap, his arm cradling her head. The kiss started slowly but became more intense as their desire for each other sprang up between them. Natti pulled away. "I don't think either of us will be able to wait two months for one another, but we will need to be more creative than your parlor floor."

Evie smiled, "I'm always up for a challenge."

Evie and Natti did get creative. After discussing different options they decided that the safest place to meet was the carriage house. It was an ideal location at both their homes. The buildings only hosted the carriages and unless one of them requested a carriage be brought out, the building remained empty.

Evie and Natti would sneak inside the carriage house either at her home or his and climb into the roomiest carriage. Once there they proceeded to do naughty and pleasurable things to one another. Not wanting to risk pregnancy again they decided not to have sex and opted instead to use their hands and mouths. It was wicked, dirty and absolutely wonderful.

One time Evie surprised Natti by showing up to his home and invited him to join her for a trip to a bookstore. The moment the carriage pulled away from his house Evie was on her knees giving him a blowjob as they rode through the crowded city. She had just swallowed his load when they came to a stop in front of the store Evie had directed her driver to.

Once they were done at the store, both of them buying a couple books each, Evie and Natti climbed back into the carriage. This time Natti got on his knees as Evie spread her legs wide. He had her cumming and crying out his name twice before the carriage pulled back up to his house.

When Evie's children returned home Evie gave them a couple days to settle in before speaking to them. As much as she wanted to marry Natti as soon as possible, seeing her children made her realize that she would delay it if they were unhappy. Natti would wait. She knew he would. He'd already told her.

When she decided it was time, she gathered them around her and as gently as possible explained to them that even though she would never forget their father, she wanted to remarry. When they asked who, she very calmly said, "Uncle Natti." Luke and Joanna were excited after asking if that meant they'd get to see Uncle Natti every day. Thomas, who'd always been her quiet child, told her that he missed his dad but liked the idea of having Uncle Natti around. Miles didn't say anything. So after answering all the questions of her other children and then playing with them for a bit, Evie took Miles to the library where she could speak to him alone.

She asked him if he was upset and told him that she'd wait to remarry if he wanted her to. Miles asked only one question, "Were you in love with my father?"

Evie didn't know how to answer that. She wanted to be honest with him, but she also didn't want him to hate his father. So after choosing her words carefully she replied, "Your father and I were promised to each other as children. We barely knew one another when we married. Still, we had some very happy years together. Because of him, I have you children, and therefore your father will always have a place in my heart. But I'm in love with Natti. I didn't realize it until recently, but I do. And I want to marry him. But not at the expense of your happiness. So Miles, if this upsets you tell me, and I'll postpone it until you feel better."

Miles reached over and hugged her. "No Mother. Go ahead and marry him. You deserve to be happy. And I love Uncle Natti too. I just still miss Father."

"Miles, I want you to know that I am not replacing your father. And it's alright to miss him. You'll probably always miss him and that's alright too."

"Thank you, Mother." Miles got up to leave but before he walked out the door he turned back and said, "I'm glad you love Uncle Natti. He's always been good to you and us."

Evie smiled. "Yes, he has," she replied. Miles smiled back at her and walked out. Evie felt a weight lift from her body. Soon she'd be getting married again. It was time to tell Natti that the wedding would be moving forward as planned, and to write to her parents with the happy news.
