The salesman nodded, "Yes, and it's priced that way, but the warranty doesn't start until it's sold. I'll bring it around so you can at least see one."

After he walked off, "I'll look at it, like trunk space and stuff. Buy, I want my first new car to be new." We had gathered a little crowd from the dealership and people from the sidewalk. And the cell phones were out.

Brent nodded, "If you can't get one for months, kinda puts it out of contention, huh?"

I laughed, "Yeah. Sold my car already."

The salesman pulled up in the Mini convertible and hopped out, "Only 1100 miles. It's the base 'Cooper,' not the 'Cooper S.' But, you can look her over. Let me open the trunk."

The little crowd, kinda growing, watched, took pics and videos as I started looking over the car. I looked in the little trunk. A grocery trip wouldn't fit in there. I looked at the salesman, "Any much shopping, you have to use the backseat, huh?" I turned to Brent, "I pictured it being a lot more practical than a Miata, but all you gain is the seats. The Jeep, at least it's like a hatchback when you need it to be." I looked at the salesman, "I sold my car in less than a hour. I can't wait months for a new car. Sorry."

He asked, "I can check, but they'd probably loan you this one until the one you ordered came in. If you're interested, I can check. You can take it out for a test drive if you'd like?" I shook my head, "Pretty much have lost interest."

We get back in my car, "That was disappointing."

Brent nodded, "I had a feeling it wasn't what you expected. You want to see the Miata yet tonight, or tomorrow?"

I shook my head,,"No. It's not practical either. I just want to clean out my car and get it ready for Jack tomorrow.."

Once home, Brent went inside to start prepping dinner and pour a couple glasses of wine. I was getting all my paperwork out of the glove box, my ID badge for BASU, and checking all the storage spots and pockets. Nothing of mine remained except the current registration. He might need that.

I headed in, dropped off my heels from school, and joined Brent at the table grading homework. We were having a normal evening, with hamburger steaks with broccoli and pasta salad for dinner.

After cleanup, I headed upstairs to find my car title in my paperwork. That in hand, I was ready for tomorrow. I headed back downstairs to finish grading homework. I smiled, "Okay. Just groceries, for now." Then we talked about our students, fun talk and laughs. After awhile we hit the outdoor shower to rinse off. Soon we had our stuff carried in and headed to the bathroom for out nighttime routines.
