My students for sixth period started arriving, applauding and hoots with comments as they took their seats. After the bell rang, I took my seat and started my lesson for the day. I shook my head, "Still thinking on it."

Then she asked, "Are you enjoying this?"

I giggled, "I have to admit, I am having a good time."

She nodded, "I totally understand." She paused, then, "Continue on without worries of getting in trouble and see what you can do. The student may just get bored. You might solve the situation. If you get fed up with the game, and want it to stop without worries about whatever she's holding over you. When you're serious about it, come see me. I have a creative solution to your problem."

I asked, "So, just continue on without worries?"

She nodded, "Just don't let the student know you're off the hook. If he or she thinks they're going to get in trouble, the worst will happen, and we can't stop it. Play the game.

I smiled, "I feel so much better. Thank you. Thank you."

She nodded, "Head on home knowing the Administration has your back."She chuckled, "No need to sneak down the hallway. You know there are cameras?"

I slapped my forehead and busted out laughing, "Thank you again Ms. Brinkley." I got up and headed to my classroom. The hallways and lobby were nearly empty, making the walk much easier. I gathered my stuff, shut my classroom door as I left, and walked to my car. I made the drive home, and the run to the apartment without being spotted.
