Pix 'n Bits CH 10 More adventures!

Interviews and Fights, Oh My!

I talk to Louis, publish my biggest story ever and have a fight!

Not too long after our state house trip we were back in Boston to meet with Louis. His lab was actually just outside the city and I told Bits it was a surprise to find it in that kind of spot! She agreed it was a surprise, kind of the opposite of finding a church, or a bookstore in a shipyard. Which we had a few of around the city. It was so Man from UNCLE! We drove to a nice estate and into a carriage house. And an elevator took us down some levels. Then got out of the car and were escorted politely to Louis, by two large and tough looking men. Bits whispered we can take these guys and one got a smile quirking at the corner of his mouth but they never said a word about it. Got my interview, and Louis was great, answering questions and dumbing down the science to an easily understandable place. After Bits asked him who the "apes" were? He laughed and said they were Navy Seals on loan from DARPA, because they seem to feel he is important. Bits asks if we can spar with them and he says probably not, but wouldn't that be interesting?

Back by the car, Bits stood straight, looked up a foot or so and said "Just FYI big guy, I can kick your ass!" and then we got in the car. I think he was choking to not laugh too. Don't know if it was him or Louis, but not too long after I got a note asking if we were willing to meet them at our gym? Maybe soon? I phoned Louis and said Tuesday was perfect, around 7? He sent me a message back, by some new deal that popped into my screen. Telling me they will see me there and to let Sue know. That was cool, I need to know this trick!

I was sitting across from Sue, so I told her right away. She was interested, and asked if she can tell the Dean. I said I saw no reason not to and I was planning to tell Susu and maybe my Lethal ladies too, if any were still around the school. Sue told me to take the afternoon then and tell people, and she will let Catherine know. I head down to the computer lab where Bits has been hanging out lately. Yup, found her! Told her what was going on and she grinned far too happily! Then told me they "felt" arrogant even if they were polite and they should not dismiss one that they had no knowledge of lightly! Yeah, Bits could go all formal when she was ticked. I let her know we were on for Tuesday at 7, and she offered to go help round up our Lethal Ladies.

So we set off, Bits to the dorms and me to the Union. I found Susu, who was pretty excited and asked if she can bring her camera. I said why not, if they do not want photos, we can always leave it in a cubby. And told her to wear her mouse ears too! They were lucky, I was sure of it! We giggled and she said she would even if I was a terrible unbeliever. I headed down to the cafeteria, where bored people hang out and found Chloe and Marie at a table with some other girl I didn't know. Chloe was nakey like me, as usual. I told them and Marie said she was coming to watch, she loved seeing big guys get beat by tiny women!

Marie was about 5' 3", big to me, small to the world. I got it. I liked her too, though we had little in common other than a liking for the underdogs of the world. Still, that can be enough for a friendship and it was plenty for an alliance! Chloe asked if Jo can come too, because then she will have her sweetie? Yep, as bad as me and Bits, for sure. I told her no problem and Jo had not seen me perform yet, so it would be fun. Chloe said or a disaster and I laughed and told her to sit on Jo of necessary! The other girl was introduced by Marie and said she was hoping to join our group in the fall, and she thought we were so awesome!

Flattery can get you invited, by me at least! Bits showed and we took care of dinner. She said she touched base with Kev but had not seen anyone else but Mike. I said I saw Chloe, as well as Marie and the new girl, somebody. Not always good with names, me. Bits said we have a couple days, maybe they will show up? I said if not, our first meetup in the fall will be a long one! Bits nodded and said that was true. Sometimes she does just miss the humor. Or I'm not as funny as I think? Nah, must be her! We sparred as always over the weekend, and Monday Bits showed me a new move, too.

And we talked a little, about the guys. She told me to not lose focus at all, and remember this was not a college meet. To think of it as if they were street corner ruffians, and proceed from that assumption. Love the way she talks sometimes. That afternoon I saw Sue who told me that she and the Dean will be present and will take on the roles of judges, much as at a meet. I said that was kind of neat and I appreciated it. That night I asked Bits if she should contact her mom and she asked me why did we need to bother the woman? Like she is not worried at all! Tuesday I participated early, then rested and after an early dinner Bits and me headed to the gym. We had not sparred as she wanted it to be a rest day, and she asked me if I had been practicing anyway? I don't lie, not about real things so I told her.

Not sure what I expected but she said "Good." and that was it. We walked in and found Jo and Chloe, along with Marie and a couple of others sitting on the bleachers. Obviously waiting for us. About two minutes later, Susu, Sue and Catherine arrived. We had the mats out and ready and had set a table with three chairs to one side, and benches at opposite ends. A short time after, Louis and his bodyguards came in. After exchanging greetings, Louis, the Dean and Sue talked and apparently made a few decisions. They told Susu that photo's were OK but would have to be approved, and she should run the story by the Dean before publication. Once that was taken care of the Dean turned to us, and the two men. Who Bits was staring at, much as a predator will at someone invading it's territory. Not up to glaring yet, not far off either.

The dean informed us all that we will have a brief series of combats, first one on one, and finally, all four at once. Bits asked if there were any rules. The Dean said "No killing blows unless necessary" without batting an eye. The two men indicated that was fine, and we took a moment to decide who was fighting who. First match was me vs the small guy. He was about 6' 2" and maybe 220. looked quick, panther quick. But I was now spider fast, after training with Bits for so long. And not long enough yet, either. I hoped to spar with her when I was seventy five or so. Bits would fight the monster. Six four easily and at a least 250. It was going to be like fighting a truck! Of course, I was not out for a walk in the park myself! Dean, Sue and Louis sat at the table, and the Dean rang a small gong. Not sure where that came from.

I stepped forward and bowed to the mat, the judges and finally my opponent who then did the exact same thing. And it was on. He charged, and I think he was depending on size and weight, hoping to make this fast. Nope. Wasn't having any of that. Did a Bits move and dove through his legs, coming up behind him and kicking him in the kidneys. Ah, he felt that. Still moving fast, but now he was favoring his right side, and attempting to keep me in front of him too. Still not at home to Miss Reasonable, I dodge at his left, feint to the right and then, too fast to stop I use the spinning drop from above with a great leap and knock him out cold. Less than one minute overall, too. 83 pounds of me against 220 of Seal. Maybe I like seafood? Ha HA! I back up and his partner checks him, nods. In a minute he is moving, slow but on his own. Dean points to me and holds up one finger. Louis is intent. Bits gives me a kiss and tells me I am amazing and she loves me very much. I tell her to go and tear that mountain down and she actually giggles! And the dean chimes the gong.

Bits begins the same as me. No surprise, she taught me. Her opponent makes a decent bow to her, surprising me some. Surprises me more by not charging her. They move around slowly, eyeing each other. He feints, an almost strike and dodges back. Bits just smiles. He does not like that, but is not quite reckless, not yet. I think this match may take longer than mine. Until Bits charges him! Runs up his leg, taking his left hand with her and dives over his shoulder, using her motion, his weight and the weird synergistic effects of the shield to flip him 180 degrees. He hits like a steak being slapped onto a counter top. Dead flat and limp. His partner rises, and Bits hold up a hand, then checks him. Does not like what she sees, and picks up his hand, twisting his thumb while driving her own into his palm. His head moves and he inhales. Still alive then. Hope he is the reasonable sort! Very slowly he pulls himself up. And bows to Bits. Bows low too. Bits does him the honor of returning it and he turns and goes to his bench. As Bits comes my way, Dean holds up one finger again and nods to us. Then tells us all to take a five minute breather.

I see the guys stretching and twisting, no surprise. Bits asks me if I want fast or slow? I think quickly and say fast, as they look smart enough to learn. She grins and says rockets then!

When the gong chimes we rise, but stop about ten feet before the mat, and widely separated. Still, we bow to the mat, each other and our opponents. Who noticeably bow lower than we have. We take a step forward then race at the men from opposite sides. At the last moment we swerve, aiming at each other and hit fists. I blast back onto my butt several feet. Bits goes nearly straight up and comes about straight down too, and hits each man with an elbow to the skull. Odd, macaroni does not seem to upset them! Ha HA! Sorry, had a visual, they had mac and cheese at the cafeteria tonight. LOL Nope, both men go down. And in a few seconds are moving, she did not hit them as hard as she could. Bits is back next to me now at the edge of the mats. They rise and the smaller man starts moving toward us. The big one stops him, gestures and they both bow to us. So low their foreheads touch the mat. As they stand, the big one points to an odd tattoo on his arm and calls Bits by name, pronouncing it better than I ever have, and thanks her for the lesson! His friend looks unhappy and says something to him I can not hear. Bits looks amused and I think she can. The Dean states firmly that we have won both events cleanly. More arguing from slim.

Big guy looks unhappy but addresses Bits saying that his friend does not believe she can do to him what she did to the large fellow in our first meet. Ah, they have seen pictures, and small guy is feeling superior, even after being beaten twice, he will end badly some day but not this day. Probably.

Bits smiles "As you say, then" and turns to walk away.

His friend tugs at him and he tells her they must know.

Bits understands him. "You know that is a man killing move?" I shiver slightly. Yeah, I did.

Big guy has a sad smile and says he does, but it is told the kiss of the spider can restore life as well, and he will trust in the goddess. He moves to the center, bows, then stands upright, like a tree. Probably stronger. I can see the judges table and no one is moving, but those are not happy faces. Bits holds up a hand in their direction, then tells him his prayer is granted. Moves so fast I can't believe it and can barely see her at all, she runs up him slots her legs around that tree stump of a neck, whips herself forward, then back, hard and fast. Bits lands on both feet. Slim watches unbelieving as his body goes up and comes down, and he hits headfirst.

Pretty sure he is done for and so is everyone else. Almost. Bits takes a beat, moves up and picks up his foot, and does something to it. Cant see well from here. Then she kisses his forehead gently. Coils herself, springs high above him and comes down on the ball of her right foot, on the center of his chest. His torso jerks upright and he sucks in air so hard I almost expect to feel a vacuum. He stands slowly, then drops to his knees and bows to my sweetie. And says something low that I can not hear. She replies as softly and gives him her hand.

He shakes, stands and bows low once more, then walks to the judges table, and tells the Dean that the US Navy Seals concede and will no longer go against her champion in this life! His friend? still looks disappointed. Bits beckons him to her and when he stands in front of her, slaps him hard enough to loosen teeth and tells him he is a worthless cur. I am not sure what is happening, but the big guy holds a hand to the judges, obviously meaning for them to stay out of it. The small guy goes nuts, we all see it and tries to grab Bits. She spins, flips and does the same to him. And when he lands, she spits on him, pivots and taking my hand walks to the judges table.

Big guy bows, and tells Bits she has now conquered the Seals, and has nothing to fear from his men now. She smiles and asks if he believes she was ever afraid? He stands, and tells the Dean he will "clean up", picks up the body and exits the gym. The Dean is either very cool or she knows more than I do. I am thinking both as she tells Bits and me that we have now demonstrated our clear superiority and she wishes she had a prize. Bits smiles and says Boston would be nice. I hope she is joking. Dean asks Bits what is next for her.

Bits says "Mother says I will be Queen of the West. Perhaps she is correct." and smiles.

Louis thanks us for the demonstration and says it was quite an honor to be allowed to watch. That boy is as smart as he looks, I'm thinking. He proves it again by mentioning how very fortunate he was to have us as part of his test group and bows to Bits. Me too, I guess but I knew who that was for. Then everyone comes up to us, talking about how awesome we are, and how cool Bits looked, and so on. The new girl said that guy must be a good actor 'cause he really looked dead! I am thinking if she only knew but say nothing, and won't. The dean looks relieved as she realizes they saw something quite different from what we did. Bits raises one eyebrow and gives her a very slight bow. The dean bows kind of low and we head out. Walking back to the dorm she asks me if I would like owning Boston? And then laughs, the tiny maniac! Man, I love me some Bits!

Thank you for reading my story. Hope it was a fun ride! Check back, could be more, who can say?
